HANDSOME AS A GREEK GOD Est. DOB 1/15/23, Weight 60 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I’m Zeus, a sweet, friendly, fun-loving, and affectionate chocolate-blonde Catahoula/ German Shepherd mix fella with mesmerizing ice-blue eyes. I have the blue eyes and coat colors of a Catahoula but the bushy, curved tail of a GSD. I must admit that I’m a striking head-turner who got my name because I command as much visual attention as the king of the Greek gods. But I’m not just eye candy! No siree! I’m a bundle of joy who’s added extra love and energy to Foster Mom’s life. Due to my congenial nature, I love making new friends, whether they’re hooman or other dogs. I’m always up for schmoozing at the dog park, a walk in the neighborhood, or playing a game of fetch. I heard Foster Mom tell someone that I’m the smartest dog she’s ever trained. Add my keen intelligence to my eagerness to please and quickness to learn, and it’s no wonder that I’ve been a delight for her to train. My brother, sister, and I were pets of a guy who unfortunately was evicted from his home and left us behind to fend for ourselves. When our situation was reported to our foster mom, thank heavens she rescued us from living paw-to-mouth on the mean streets of Houston and brought us home with her to foster. If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable, and playful pup to put a smile on your face and a zing to your adventures, I’m the guy for you. Arrange to meet me today. Once you look into my stunning baby blues and experience my charming personality, you won’t be able to resist taking me home with you. Story
Xena is a 16 months old sweet and velcro girl who was an unwanted gift as a puppy for her previous owner. As a result, Xena spent a considerable time of her life alone, outside, without any love or affection. However, as soon as she came to foster home, Xena became attached to her foster parents. She loves giving kisses and is extremely affectionate and big time cuddler. Xena loves to play fetch and is a total water dog. She loves living in the water, and loves swimming. Xena is a husky mix, who is only about 45 lbs. She has one blue and one brown eye and very soft fur. She is a total lapdog, who will get into your lap at any given chance. She is fully vetted, current on vaccination, and is spayed and microchipped. She is also heartworm negative and kept on preventatives. Xena is currently being fostered in Houston, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. She can go to a home with other dogs, or be an only child. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or in person, please send an application available at www.savesomesouls.com

Story
2.5 year old Luna was living in a field for a while when neighbors tried to catch her but could not succeed. She will stop by to say hello to the dogs who were on walks, but was very hard to trap. When the heat in Texas reached 90, Luna started coming around to a home she chose and allowed being petted. The owner of the property was able to touch her and finally she started living inside with three kitties, and soon came to our foster home. Once in foster home, Luna turned out to be a super sweet girl, who was quiet, and shy, and loves kids. Luna has no separation anxiety and quite independent. Luna is extremely loyal, sensitive, calm and housebroken. She loves to play fetch and will love a home with a fully fenced yard, where she gets playtime with her furever parents. Luna needs a home with a fully and adequately fenced yard. She is 40 lb, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and kept on heartgard and nexgard. She is extremely beautiful, very calm, and adorable. Once she has gotten over her initial shyness, she becomes completely velcro, and loves to be petted. Luna is currently in Houston, but can transport to other places. If you are interested to adopt Luna, please send an application via savesomesouls.com **Yards must be fully fenced to adopt our pups. No invisible fences.

Story
THINKS SHE'S A LAP DOG DOB 4/12/23 weight 56 pounds Hey there, everyone! I'm Astrid, a gorgeous, fun-loving, friendly, outgoing, energetic Siberian Husky/ White German Shepherd mix gal with striking icy-blue eyes and an always-happy, exuberant spirit. I absolutely love my hoomans and want to be with them all the time. Foster Mom hasn’t told me that I’m NOT a toy dog, so I like to jump up in her lap for a good snuggle. We huskies are pack-oriented dogs, so I get along superbly with other dogs whom I meet on walks. I know that my harness means that I’m going for a walk or to the dog park. Yipee! I’m leash-trained, although if I get nervous, I circle behind Foster Mom. I live with foster and resident cats, and I do better with the ones who are jerks because they keep me in line, not the sweet, docile ones. Some of them even like me and wander into my crate just to be with me. We huskies were bred to be compact sled dogs of significant endurance to pull light loads over frozen expanses. When we become house pets, we need an outlet for our considerable energy. So it's best that I get vigorous daily exercise at the dog park or in the back yard with a secure fence so I can run, run, run to my heart’s content. I’d love a yard with plenty of bushes and trees as well as lizards, which I pounce on like a fox. If it’s not too hot, I love being outdoors where I can splash in the wading pool or be watered like a plant with the hose. I’m not a backyard dog unless Foster Mom is there to play interactively with me. When she throws my favorite toy, I always bring it back for more fetching. I’m ready to frolic all the time, and after a good play session, I’ll settle down and lay at Foster Mom’s feet or on the bed with her if she’s tired too. I’m a smart, eager-to-please girl who knows my name as well as voice commands like sit, down, no, off, and come here. I’m already trained to sit for my food to be served, but don’t try to touch my food after you’ve given it to me! Although I’m crate-trained, I don’t like to be left alone inside because I get separation anxiety and won’t settle down even for short periods while Foster Mom is away. So she leaves me in a room of my own with no fancy furniture, and I’m happy as a lark. Other things I don’t like are thunder and lightning storms, large trucks, and small children. I was found as a stray on Foster Mom's brother's street. Now I'm all ready for my second and forever home. A family with happy, older teenagers or young men would be the cat’s meow. If you're looking for a medium-sized dog who really, really enjoys family life, I'm your girl! Come meet me today and see my beautiful blue eyes for yourself HOPE ID D24-0409-0011 If you are interested in Astrid and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Story
CHERISHES TIME SPENT WITH HIS PEOPLE  DOB 2/1/23, Weight 63 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I’m Bear, an incredibly smart, loyal, patient, gentle-giant of a Siberian Husky/ Anatolian Shepherd mix fella. My stunning ice-blue eyes, bushy curled tail, and upright “prick” ears indicate my Husky heritage. Yet, although I’m less than half the size of a purebred Anatolian Shepherd, my biscuit color as well as my black eyes and muzzle certainly bespeak that breed somewhere in my bloodlines. Despite my intimidating size, you can tell from my sweet, innocent face that I’ve got quite a soft side. I’m happiest when I’m hanging out with my people, whether it’s lounging at their feet, getting belly rubs, or leisurely walking on quiet streets together. Boy howdy, do I love trips to the farmer’s market, doggie day care, and the dog park where I can really stretch my legs. I’m quite a nimble, playful guy who absolutely loves fetching balls that my foster pawrents throw as well as chewing on my squeaky toys.   My future foster pawrents found me as I wandered their neighborhood during Hurricane Beryl. They quickly realized how special I am – no ordinary stray – and brought me home. Their due diligence did not result in getting me back home, but they were delighted to discover that I was already housebroken and obeyed a few commands like “sit” and “shake.” I get along great with the two resident Chihuahua females, although we’re like Mutt and Jeffs. True confessions: I’m a little too energetic for the resident cats.   True to my Husky side, I can be a bit vocal, although I’m much calmer and easy-going than most Huskies. When my foster pawrents leave, I don’t do well in a crate and can be a bit of an escape-artist, but I’m on my best behavior when I’m left free-roaming in my foster home. I’d make a devoted, responsive, adaptable and all-around fantastic companion for a family who can keep up with my energy and provide me with lots of love. Could your family become my best forever friends? Arrange to meet me today, and I promise that my mesmerizing blue eyes are sure to catch your attention and enrapture your hearts. ALWAYS UP FOR AN ADVENTURE DOB 5/1/22, weight 58 pounds Hey there, everyone! I’m Xena, a sweet, incredibly friendly, spirited Siberian Husky mix gal whose heart is as big as my beautiful blue eyes. Due to my congenial nature, I love making new friends, whether they’re hooman or other dogs. I’m always up for an adventure – whether it’s a hike, a run, or just a fun day at the park. When the day is done, though, I’m an affectionate gal who just wants to relax and cuddle with Foster Mom. Since I’m quite smart and eager to please, she’s had a joy training me. It’s hard to believe that I was hanging out as a stray with no collar, tags, or chip outside of a game shop. Who would not tear the neighborhood apart searching for me -- unless I was abandoned because my owner couldn’t afford to keep me as their pet anymore? Ah well, I’m not looking back! I was making a homeless man very agitated because the game store was "his territory." Thank heavens Foster Mom brought me home to foster me when she was alerted to my situation, and she promises to find me the fantastic forever home that I deserve the second time around. If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable, playful, and energetic companion for your active lifestyle, I’m ready to be your new best friend. Arrange to meet me today. I think you’ll find not only that am I stunningly beautiful eye candy, but also that spending time with me will a complete joy to your heart. Story
Willow's journey took an unexpected turn one Saturday morning when she was discovered wandering the streets, narrowly avoiding a close encounter with traffic. A vigilant volunteer scooped her up, ensuring her safety, and set out to reunite her with her family. To their dismay, Willow's microchip led to a heartbreaking revelation: her previous owners chose not to welcome her back into their lives. It's a mystery to us, too, why such a sweet soul like Willow found herself unwanted. Willow, a charming medium-sized Husky around 7 years old, has stolen our hearts with her gentle demeanor and loving nature. She's proven to be very versatile, getting along famously with other dogs and even extending her warm paw of friendship to feline friends during a cat test. During a car ride with a 9-year-old companion, she showcased her impeccable manners and affectionate disposition. Now, Willow longs for the security and comfort of a forever home. She's a good girl through and through, yearning for nothing more than a family to call her own once again. If you're considering opening your heart and home to Willow, rest assured, she promises to fill your life with endless love and unwavering loyalty. Take a chance on Willow, and you'll discover a lifelong companion who will enrich your days with joy and companionship. If you are not able to adopt, but want to help Willow, please consider fostering her so she does not have to sit in boarding!October 3, 2024, 12:06 am
