Story
Chena is a special girl. Approximately 1 year old female husky mix. She is slight in stature, weighing in around 40+ pounds, but is a dynamo of an athlete. It has been a real treat welcoming her in as our foster friend.  Chena has great house manners; she is potty trained and will use her crate overnight, or when we are away. As of late, we have let her free range in our home overnight and during the day when we are gone; all without incident. We live at a busy ski area, and although she is always alert to what is going on around our home, she will only let out a modest bark here and there.    Chena LOVES being on trails and in the mountains. Her recall has been quite astounding after just a couple of days.  We had her off leash, in safe areas, within days. We do suggest to any adoptive family that "off leash" is done gradually.  Chena is initially a bit shy with new people and dogs; but does warm up quickly. She prefers to check out the environment with some caution.  Chena has been around our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and did well.  With that said, we feel she would thrive either in an environment with or without children and with or without other dogs; she has been quite adaptable; and gets into the "family dance" easily with encouragement.   We have not had any exposure to cats, so we cannot yet comment.  She is a cuddler and will do anything to be your sofa buddy.    Chena has some hesitation on solid surface floors; but it has been incredibly random.  She currently has solid floors at her foster home, and after about a week, overcame her hesitation. We are still working on open air stairs and elevators. She is great in a car and does well on leash. If you feel Chena could join your family, we would love to meet you for a walk, hike, etc. so she can be introduced.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2025, 11:34 pm

Story
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect mix of heartthrob charm and goofy best friend energy, allow us to introduce John Travolta! Yes, that’s really his name, and yes, he lives up to it! With striking husky features, a friendly personality, and an irresistible love of cuddles, John is the kind of pup who will keep you smiling from sunrise to movie-night snuggles on the couch. We believe John is a husky mix of some sort around 5 months old and weighs approximately 30 pounds. He has massive paws and is definitely going to be a decent sized boy when full grown. He has the softest fur with beautiful notes of chocolate throughout his coat. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Get to know John here: https://youtu.be/AydmQkYYfV0 Still just a youngster, John is already impressing everyone with how quickly he learns! He’s naturally confident and walks beautifully on leash for his age, barely needing corrections. When meeting new people, he greets them like they have been friends forever, wagging his tail and leaning right into them for affection! His signature move is gently crawling into your lap if you crouch down. He was incredibly tolerant and calm during his visit with us, showing off his sweet, gentle spirit with every new interaction! John lives with other dogs in his foster home and enjoys the company. He can be playful, especially with adult dogs who match his vibe. While he can hang with high-energy pups, he prefers a friend who won’t pester him non-stop. A respectful medium energy playmate who can chase and wrestle a little, then relax and lounge with him afterward is his cup of tea. He’s a great communicator and knows how to give polite corrections when needed. He’s also shown promise around cats! When he met our house cat Biggie, he gave him kisses and showed interest in play! But being a pup, he’d do best with a dog in the home to balance his energy if there are cats around too. This handsome boy has been a hit during outings to the park, where he interacts beautifully with children and strangers alike. While he doesn’t currently live with kids, his temperament suggests he could do well with them, and we’re happy to test him with any age group if you’d like to know more! Because of his breed and puppy enthusiasm, John would thrive in a home with a yard and people who are active enough to help him grow into the amazing adult dog he’s meant to be! He’s vocal in a charming husky way, especially when he’s excited, and would shine in a household that enjoys engaging with their dog and doesn’t mind a little friendly chatter. From the confident way he trots into a room to the soft way he settles into your lap for snuggles, John Travolta is more than just a cute face! He’s a pup with star power, ready to shine in the heart of a loving home! Does John sound like your new bestie? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
Scout Oliver is that kind of puppy who makes you want to slow down and soak up the little things! Like his soft ears, curious eyes, and the way he gently melts into your lap when he trusts you. He’s a precious puppy boy still figuring out the world! He’s ready for a family to show him the ropes of the pampered pooch life! We believe Scout is a husky mix of some sort around 1 year old and weighs approximately 25 pounds. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Check out Scout here: https://youtu.be/HQXA1Y06idg When we first met Scout, he greeted us at the gate so sweetly and let us leash him up without hesitation! When we got him into the yard, it only took a few minutes (and a little bit of running!) before he started to blossom! When you crouch down near him, you'll see his true colors shine! He’s incredibly affectionate, always happy to lean in close for cuddles and belly rubs. One of the sweetest moments during his visit with us was watching him climb into an 11-year-old’s lap and rest there with complete trust! We believe that he would do well in a home with dog savvy children that can approach him like the sweet baby that he is! He's a soft soul who responds beautifully to gentleness, especially from children who understand his calm nature! Scout is still learning the ropes of leash walking, and right now he feels most confident in a quiet home with a yard. Apartment life or loud, busy environments aren’t really his style! Give him a little time, a little patience, and a calm routine, and he’ll come into his own beautifully. A drag leash in the early days may help with transitions, and once he knows he’s home, Scout will settle right into the rhythm of family life. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, especially playful ones with a medium energy level who won’t mind a little neck-nibbling when Scout wants to play. He did especially well with Rollo, a playful larger male during his visit and even shared a few zoomies. We could absolutely see him thriving with a friendly canine buddy to show him the ropes. As for cats? Scout was polite and disinterested in our housecat Biggie, a perfect combination! He’d do just fine with a calm, dog-savvy feline friend. Scout Oliver is the kind of puppy who might take a beat to open up, but once he does, he’ll be the sweetest, most loyal companion you could ask for. He's the kind of puppy you grow with, bond with, and never want to let go of. Does Scout sound like your dream pup?
