Story
Chena is a special girl. Approximately 1 year old female husky mix. She is slight in stature, weighing in around 40+ pounds, but is a dynamo of an athlete. It has been a real treat welcoming her in as our foster friend.  Chena has great house manners; she is potty trained and will use her crate overnight, or when we are away. As of late, we have let her free range in our home overnight and during the day when we are gone; all without incident. We live at a busy ski area, and although she is always alert to what is going on around our home, she will only let out a modest bark here and there.    Chena LOVES being on trails and in the mountains. Her recall has been quite astounding after just a couple of days.  We had her off leash, in safe areas, within days. We do suggest to any adoptive family that "off leash" is done gradually.  Chena is initially a bit shy with new people and dogs; but does warm up quickly. She prefers to check out the environment with some caution.  Chena has been around our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and did well.  With that said, we feel she would thrive either in an environment with or without children and with or without other dogs; she has been quite adaptable; and gets into the "family dance" easily with encouragement.   We have not had any exposure to cats, so we cannot yet comment.  She is a cuddler and will do anything to be your sofa buddy.    Chena has some hesitation on solid surface floors; but it has been incredibly random.  She currently has solid floors at her foster home, and after about a week, overcame her hesitation. We are still working on open air stairs and elevators. She is great in a car and does well on leash. If you feel Chena could join your family, we would love to meet you for a walk, hike, etc. so she can be introduced.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2025, 11:34 pm

Story
Calling all rescue Husky lovers! Russell is everything that’s awesome about Huskies and he’s looking for his forever family. Russell is full of personality, vocal and goofy, he has great house manners and he’s so intelligent! He’s dog friendly, kid friendly, and such a good boy. We believe that Russell is a Husky mix of some sort, but he is a rescue, so this is just our best guess! Russell is estimated to be around 2 years old, and he currently weighs in at 59 pounds. Fall in love with Russell here: https://youtu.be/yn_Vj6r0zHQ?si=16-viX_kjT1mT9jr Russell is a total dog lover. He is currently fostered in a home with multiple other dogs, and he’s doing great with them! Russell is a fan of all dogs, but gets along especially well with Huskies. He loves to play chase with other dogs, and you’ll know that he likes another dog when he comes in for a couple sweet kisses. We think he would do best in a home with a moderately playful dog to keep him company. With people, Russell is adorable, affectionate and sweet. He rubs his head on your legs for pets, and in a group setting he will bounce around asking for pets from each person in the room. Kids are no exception to Russell’s people-loving disposition, he’s gentle, sweet and tolerant with little ones. Russell has spent time with kids as young as three years old, and we think he would do great as a family dog. Russell is so full of personality and hilarity. He’s very charming and so easy to love! He’s vocal and can carry a conversation with just about anyone. He’s highly intelligent too- very trainable! Another brag about Russell- he has AMAZING house manners. He’s respectful, sweet and careful of furniture. Here at the rescue, he sniffed around all of the pre-marked-perfect-pee-spots, but did not mark indoors. Russell would make an excellent best friend for any animal lover looking to add some love and joy to their home. He would be a great family dog. He would love a home with a moderately playful doggy sibling or two. We do not recommend Russell for a home with kitties. We are willing to test Russell with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Are you ready to meet your loyal fluffy furever best friend? Well let me introduce you to Skye! With rescue, it’s always a guess but we think Skye is a Siberian Husky. Just look at her! We believe she is about 4 years young, and she weighs in at 45 pounds. She is a medium sized girl with a stunning coat that will stop you in your tracks. We could stare at those pretty icy blue eyes all day long! Skye loves posing for the camera, she’s a part time model! Skye is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is bouncy, playful, and friendly. In normal husky fashion, she loves to get her zoomies! But Skye also loves to relax, snuggling up with her human toddler bestie that she’s fostered with. He uses her as his pillow when they are watching his favorite shows on the couch. Safe to say, we know Skye loves kiddos! She really enjoys hanging out with him while he plays in his toy kitchen. She wants to know what he’s cooking up for her— she hopes it’s something yummy! Well, what are you waiting for? Watch Skye here! https://youtu.be/vTRrb7SxEUo?si=ZkOAF99_9aJKxc9e Skye loves treats, which will definitely come in handy with training! Skye currently goes on walks every day with her foster momma. They go twice a day, and she loves the beautiful nature trails! She also loves to go in public too. She loves scoping out pet smart for the newest goodies. She is a big fan of pup cups too, so maybe you guys can swing through the local coffee shop on the way back. Because of her love of yummy delicious treats, we can see her picking up on things pretty quickly! She already knows how to sit, so we don’t think she is far off from learning other tricks and skills! Because Skye loves to run around and get all of that husky energy out, we think she would be the perfect fit for an active family. Skye is the perfect family dog. She would totally love running after the kids on their bikes, feeling the breeze in her hair as she gallops behind them! We can see her going on hikes, long walks, playing in the backyard, and really anywhere the wind takes her. Speaking of yards, this gal definitely needs one, so a home over an apartment would be better for her! Skye could really be the perfect adventure buddy for those looking. Is that you? Meet Aries! The stunningly handsome boy who is ready to slide his way into your heart! Aries is a GORGEOUS husky who we believe is about 5 years old and weighs approximately 60 pounds. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But he is a beauty to look at nonetheless. Check out Aries in all his majesty here! https://youtu.be/J6mjQ7AS5Ts Aries is currently being fostered in a family home! Which is amazing because that means less adjustment time to a house-like setting when he gets adopted into his new place! He resides with children and loves to run and play in the backyard! He’s already getting prepared for his best life as a family man. Aries lives with a 1 year old and 2 year old and exists harmoniously with them! You’ll see in the video how gentle he is playing with a toy as a little baby tries to take it. It’s so amazing how he is considerate of even the smallest of kiddos! We consider Aries to be kid friendly and would thrive best in a home with dog savvy kids around 4 and older that can enjoy the fun that comes with enriching a husky boy. As far as doggy friends go, Aries is a pretty chill companion. When he was introduced to the dogs at our residence, he vibed best with Skippy, an equally mellow male who just likes to hang out. Aries would do best in a home with a canine sibling that can match his low to medium energy. But Aries is currently a solo dog at his foster home and would also transition well into being a solo dog in a new home. He was not opposed to the extra cuddles he received during his photoshoot, LOL. Due to his husky nature and size, it would be best that he was in a home over an apartment. He would love a yard that has a tall sturdy fence to help keep him in the bounds of his permitted area to roam. He hasn’t been around any cats, but if you have a home that has a cat in it, feel free to let us know and we can see how he does in the presence of a feline. We want to make sure he is the best for your family! We could definitely see Aries as an adventure pup, soaking in every fun moment of exploring the trails with his new best friend! He would also be as equally ready to snuggle you on the couch as you watched a movie together! He has the best scratchable ears and is ready for his forever family! Could Aries be the one for you? Story
Scout Oliver is that kind of puppy who makes you want to slow down and soak up the little things! Like his soft ears, curious eyes, and the way he gently melts into your lap when he trusts you. He’s a precious puppy boy still figuring out the world! He’s ready for a family to show him the ropes of the pampered pooch life! We believe Scout is a husky mix of some sort around 1 year old and weighs approximately 25 pounds. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Check out Scout here: https://youtu.be/HQXA1Y06idg When we first met Scout, he greeted us at the gate so sweetly and let us leash him up without hesitation! When we got him into the yard, it only took a few minutes (and a little bit of running!) before he started to blossom! When you crouch down near him, you'll see his true colors shine! He’s incredibly affectionate, always happy to lean in close for cuddles and belly rubs. One of the sweetest moments during his visit with us was watching him climb into an 11-year-old’s lap and rest there with complete trust! We believe that he would do well in a home with dog savvy children that can approach him like the sweet baby that he is! He's a soft soul who responds beautifully to gentleness, especially from children who understand his calm nature! Scout is still learning the ropes of leash walking, and right now he feels most confident in a quiet home with a yard. Apartment life or loud, busy environments aren’t really his style! Give him a little time, a little patience, and a calm routine, and he’ll come into his own beautifully. A drag leash in the early days may help with transitions, and once he knows he’s home, Scout will settle right into the rhythm of family life. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, especially playful ones with a medium energy level who won’t mind a little neck-nibbling when Scout wants to play. He did especially well with Rollo, a playful larger male during his visit and even shared a few zoomies. We could absolutely see him thriving with a friendly canine buddy to show him the ropes. As for cats? Scout was polite and disinterested in our housecat Biggie, a perfect combination! He’d do just fine with a calm, dog-savvy feline friend. Scout Oliver is the kind of puppy who might take a beat to open up, but once he does, he’ll be the sweetest, most loyal companion you could ask for. He's the kind of puppy you grow with, bond with, and never want to let go of. Does Scout sound like your dream pup? Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
