Story
Delilah is a young dog who was sold from a corner puppy stand to a family who didn’t understand the needs of Huskies. Delilah just over a year old and is full of energy and fun. Delilah needs an active home and a family who has time to teach her how to walk on a leash, sit and other good doggy manners. She is very smart and does learn quickly. Delilah likes other dogs and kids. She knows how to use a doggy door, loves car rides and loves to play fetch. Delilah would love to be in a home where she can be walked at least once a day. She would be a great running partner. And when all the exercising is done, Delilah has the love and loyalty part of being a good dog down pat! She will curl up with you and watch TV or lay by your side while you read. With a little effort from an adopter, Delilah will be a super companion. Delilah has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Maryjo at 801-809-0602 or email maryjokorb@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Yuka! His family passed away and he found himself alone looking for a home. Our amazing dog trainer and foster Molly with Petes Adventure Pack (in Utah) stepped up to offer her home and some training so he could get a second chance at love. Yuka is currently in SLC Utah but able to travel to Colorado. He is a very well behaved boy that has a good amount of energy and will need an active home but he is also very good at relaxing. He is super confident as well and has handled all these bad situations wonderfully. He would make a good first time husky owner as he’s such an easy going guy and has had some training already **Walks great on leash and is crate trained **Active pup, is already an amazing sled dog and goes with his 6 foster siblings. Six miles is easy peasy for him **Previous owner says he was around kids the age of 10 and was very sweet **He has high prey drive and wants to chase cats so no cats in his home All POSO Dogs come with 2 free dog training sessions and fully vetted

Story
Valhalla is a spirited shieldmaiden who knows what she likes and what she doesn't. If you give her a snack that she doesn't want, she'll spit it out and howl at you the way a great dragon might. Valhalla loves shoulder rubs after a long day of ruling Asgard. She will make you laugh by pouncing on her stuffed animals like a funny fox hunting prey. Valhalla loves to go on rides, by Viking Longship or car. Valhalla has lived with kids of all ages and dogs of all sizes, but she loves the thrill of chasing cats and is looking for a bird-free home. She was reportedly housetrained in her previous home. Like many Arctic Breeds, Valhalla sometimes hears the call of the wild and will take herself on a run if she can. She has been known even to raid a nearby chicken village. Valhalla is looking for a home where her needs for exercise and enrichment are met regularly, along with a secure fence and/or supervision when outdoors. Valkyrie, Warrior, or King: You belong with Valhalla until Ragnarok! Meet her at the Humane Society of Utah!

Story
Spotta has been friendly with most new people and has even lived successfully with kids. If he's just a bit shy at first, a few treats and a little bit of time are all it takes. He previously lived with other dogs and cats, but he hasn't met many new dogs outside of the home yet. We always recommend a slow introduction to any resident pets. Spotta really enjoys squeaky and stuffed toys. He joyously throws them up into the air, pounces on them, and carries them around in his mouth. His previous people said he also loves belly rubs and being held. He is a snuggly, happy guy who likes to be near you and everyone agrees he's "a really good dog!" They also reported him to be housetrained. Spott's favorite snack is peanut butter treats. Spotta always has a smile ready for his people, so if you need some cheer and fun in your life, snag Spotta today!

Story
This beautiful lady is Kumi, an American Akita, between 6-8 years old. After spending the last four months with foster parents (who immediately fell in love with her) she is a happy, healthy girl with lots of love and energy to spare. She does have a few patches where her coat is still filling in resulting from malnutrition issues. Kumi’s favorite things include being outside (playing, running or just basking in the sun), car rides and rope toys (she is a champ at tug of war). Kumi is a very loving dog. She is a little skeptical of public places and doesn’t want to do much with strangers. Fortunately, you’re only a stranger until you walk into her home and then you are her BEST friend! Kumi knows basic commands and is eager to show them to you . . . if you have a treat. Proper dog introductions are a must for Kumi. She can be a little grumpy with other dogs. She gets along well with dog savvy cats. Sometimes she gets excited and will chase them but has never hurt them. She has not been tested around kids. Kumi’s new family will need to make sure she gets help with leash and obedience training. While Kumi is a very good girl, she can be very stubborn and would prefer to do things her way and not listen to the two-legged members of the pack. She really doesn’t like to be left alone and will break out of kennels, so long hours alone every day may be a problem. She would benefit from a home where someone in the family works part time or works from home. Kumi is a special girl who is willing to be your buddy on walks and hikes, play with you until she tires you out, and cuddle up next to you on the couch in the evening. She will require consistency and some additional training, but trust us, she is more than worth it. Kumi has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm, and has been microchipped. You can visit at the PetSmart in Salt Lake City, (389 W. 1830 S.) the third Saturday of every month from 11 am - 2 pm. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application at www.uaaf.org. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call/text Kirsty at (435) 671-0985, or email kirsty.ju@gmail.com.
