Huskies are often known for being intelligent, energetic, playful, adventurous, social, and independent. They are active dogs who enjoy exploring their surroundings and participating in activities with their families. As a Husky mix, Matilda may develop some of these characteristics as she matures. Her future family should be prepared for a dog who may need regular physical exercise, mental enrichment, consistent training, and plenty of opportunities to explore and stay engaged. Huskies can also be vocal, curious, and skilled escape artists, so secure fencing, proper supervision, and reliable leash habits will be especially important as Matilda grows. Because she is still developing, her adult size cannot yet be determined from her current weight alone. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect At only four months old, Matilda is still learning about the world. Her future family should be prepared for the normal responsibilities of raising a young puppy. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be ready to continue working on potty training, crate training if desired, leash walking, basic commands, recall, appropriate chewing, household boundaries, and positive socialization. Huskies are intelligent but can also be independent thinkers. Positive reinforcement, patience, repetition, and consistent routines will be essential in helping Matilda develop good manners and confidence. Short, enjoyable training sessions will help keep her engaged while strengthening the bond she builds with her new family. Because Huskies are often adventurous and curious, Matilda's adopter should also prioritize secure outdoor spaces, proper identification, supervised exploration, and continued recall training.
