Routine: Whiz Kid’s day starts at the crack of dawn, around 6:30 AM, when he’s already plotting his next adventure (probably involving food). First stop: the barn for horse feed. Then it's back home for breakfast with the dogs, followed by a half-hour neighborhood walk. After that, he works hard (well, not really) keeping the yard safe while his foster parent works in their office. Midday is all about playtime, chew toys, and a well-deserved nap before getting back to work. By 5 PM, he’s ready for his second neighborhood walk, dinner, and a comfy spot to enjoy All Creatures Great and Small (he’s a bit of a TV critic when it comes to dog cameos). By 10 PM, it’s last bathroom break and bedtime for this sweet snoozer. Personality: Whiz Kid is a snuggly, friendly ball of energy. He showed up like he was already part of the family, jumping into cuddles, playtime, and daily routines. He's like the doggy version of a personal assistant who never lets you out of his sight (he’s very much a velcro pup). Whether it’s under the covers, on the couch, or following you to the bathroom, he’s all in—though he’s also totally fine with solo play or naps while you work. Win-win! Other Pets: Whiz Kid is a social butterfly who loves his canine companions. He follows the other dog around like a sidekick, keeping watch over the yard together. He’s good with off-leash dogs, but can be a little dramatic when on a leash (bikes and strangers beware). He knows the cat’s boundaries and tries to resist the temptation to chase her when she pulls a sneak attack. As for kids, he’s still waiting to make those connections, but he’s ready to meet them with his best puppy manners! Playfulness & Energy: Whiz Kid is all about action. Balls? Tug toys? A walk that could last all day? He’s in! But once he’s gotten his fill of fun, he’s more than happy to turn into a snuggle bug and nap on the couch (or in your basket, if you’re not careful). He’s got that perfect balance of playful and laid-back. Walks & Leash Manners: Leash reactivity is his quirky superpower—if he sees a dog, person, or anything that moves, he’s gotta bark first and ask questions later. He’s still a work in progress with that, but in more enclosed areas, he’s got a great recall. Squirrels? Meh, not interested in chasing them (unless they’re on TV). Housetraining: Whiz Kid’s potty game is on point! He’s house-trained, can use a doggy door, and only had one accident when he first arrived (which is basically a win in our book). As for crate training, he’s not a fan, but he’s made it clear he prefers free reign when the house is empty. Behavioral Quirks: Whiz Kid is a master of mischief! He’s a bit of a trash enthusiast and has been known to rummage through the bins even when you’re standing right there (he's that sneaky). He’s also got a thing for counter-surfing, so make sure everything’s safely out of reach. Oh, and don’t leave windows unlocked—this little escape artist once managed to pop open a first-floor window just to join the family outside. Who needs a doggy door when you have that kind of ingenuity? Ideal Home: Whiz Kid would thrive in an active home with plenty of room for adventure and a buddy (another dog would be a huge bonus). He’s got loads of energy to burn and would love a home where he can be part of a pack. A little structure with lots of playtime and snuggles is exactly what this kid needs. Why Adopt Whiz Kid: Whiz Kid is a sweet, spirited dog who will keep you entertained with his antics and keep your heart full with his love. He’s an ideal activity partner who’s always ready for a walk, a game of fetch, or a snuggle session on the couch. His joyful, lively nature makes him an amazing addition to any home. Favorite Thing: Whiz Kid is a little like a cat when it comes to his lounging habits. You’ll find him in the most unexpected places, like perched in a basket or on top of a table, napping like he owns the place. He’s got a great sense of humor (and excellent taste in nap spots). Whiz Kid is ready to charm his way into your heart—and maybe even into your basket! April 29, 2025, 5:23 am
