Story
Under AKR Custody Review (Adoption temporarily on hold pending resolution of foster situation) Currently in Vancouver!!! Name: Mongmong Age: 4 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) Mix Color: Black, tan, and white Weight: 9.5 kg (20.9 lbs) Height (at shoulder): 32 cm (12.6 inches)   Mongmong is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves people — whether you’re a familiar friend or someone he’s just met, he’ll happily come over for pets and attention. He’s especially gentle with young children and is comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly. Once he warms up, he’ll even show you his belly! He’s curious about other dogs and will approach them to say hello, though he doesn’t typically engage in play. Gentle with cats, not much interest in them. Mongmong has a moderate energy level and enjoys outdoor activities like walks, but settles down calmly afterward. He’s well-behaved on leash, doesn’t pull, and follows his human companion nicely. He is not food aggressive and remains calm in a kennel or during car rides. Mongmong was found injured, likely from a car accident, and was at risk of euthanasia at a municipal shelter. After being rescued, Mongmong had one eye removed due to phthisis bulbi, a condition that caused his eye to shrink and lose function and had hernia surgery on 25.05.01-but he’s recovered beautifully and is now ready for a fresh start Mongmong is a brave little survivor with a heart full of love. He’s looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and loved — could that be with you? Story
Meet Charlotte   • Name: Charlotte • Age: 7–8 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Terrier Mix • Color: Brown • Weight: 9.5 kg • Height (shoulder): 37 cm   Rescue Story Charlotte was rescued from a municipal shelter in January 2021. After her rescue, she spent about four years in a private shelter. During her time at the shelter, Charlotte was bitten by another dog. Following that experience, she became very sensitive to handling and touch, which made finding an adoptive home more challenging.   In November, Charlotte joined the AKR center, where she began desensitization and touch training. At first, even putting on a collar or harness caused her to scream, but with consistent training and patience, she has made meaningful progress. Now, she may occasionally whine slightly, but her reaction has improved significantly.   She is sensitive to her fur being pulled, so she is currently kept with a short coat for her comfort.   ‍‍‍ Socialization with People Charlotte can be a little shy at first, but she is very food-motivated. With treats and gentle, positive reinforcement, she warms up quickly and becomes comfortable with touch.   She has not been tested with children under 13. While she can be picked up once she trusts you, this may be difficult for strangers at first. As she bonds, she becomes affectionate—even offering her belly for rubs.   Socialization with Dogs Charlotte is friendly and social with other dogs. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and invite play.   She can be a bit vocal when playing, which may overwhelm more timid dogs. However, she does very well with dogs that match her energy level, regardless of size.   She would thrive either with a compatible canine companion or as the only dog in the home.   Cats Not yet tested, but can be assessed upon request.   Energy Level Moderate energy. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward.   Walks Charlotte may look around curiously during walks, but she follows her handler well and does not pull on the leash.   Other Notes • No resource guarding toward people or dogs • No separation anxiety—she stays home alone well • May bark at other dogs, but does not bark excessively at people • Calm and quiet in a kennel • Nervous about getting into the car—may need to be gently carried in (a crate is recommended initially) • Currently uses outdoor potty   Ideal Home Charlotte is looking for a patient and understanding home that will continue her positive reinforcement training and respect her sensitivity to touch. With time, consistency, and kindness, she truly blossoms into a loving and affectionate companion.   If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient dog and are willing to give her the time she needs to fully trust, Charlotte could be your perfect match. Story
DARWIN is currently special-needs as he recovers from an abusive home, and so far he is doing well with rehab, but we still have a way to go. Darwin is a wonderful, affectionate, and loving boy. Although he likes playing fetch and chasing his ball, he equally enjoys being a couch potato and cuddling and sleeping. He is often quiet, and unlike many of the higher-energy Jack Russells. He is friendly and sweet but terribly fearful, and is an indoor dog since he has white, very fine hair, can sunburn easily, and also freeze in the winter. Darwin is housetrained, walks well on his leash, obeys simple commands, and is friendly with other friendly dogs, both female and male, and smaller dogs. Darwin is about 8 years old and is neutered. Darwin’s parents split up and neither one of them was able to keep Darwin. Darwin is a smooth-coat Jack Russell with perhaps a tiny touch of Corgi. ALICE-Special Needs/Sponsors IMPORTANT: The Nature Network Inc. is a small 501c3 non-profit no-kill organization. Most animals we rescue are abandoned at the pound, who no one wants--seniors and special-needs. 100% of all funds are used for them—extensive veterinary and medical costs, prescription meds, rehab, special foods, supplements, and more. We are deeply grateful for help. To meet us, help us, or if you know people or businesses who would like to, please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (Also our PayPal Giving email address for donation and sponsorship). Mailing: The Nature Network Inc., 3826 Grand View Blvd., #66790, Los Angeles, CA 90066. All donations are used for our rescued animals. No funds are used for salaries, advertising, social media, or human expenses. All of us, including board members, are volunteers. Our veterinary references are available upon request. ALICE is a Jack Russell/Bull Terrier unusual mix. Alice is sponsorship only at this point, as she has damaged ankles and toes and her right eye needed to be removed. She was rescued from one of the Los Angeles City Animal Shelters just in time. She was slated for death because they claimed she was still on medication, which in fact she no longer was! Alice now receives cold laser treatment to her various joints every week which has enabled her to move about well and be able to walk more smoothly without the pain that she had before. Her treatment has also shrunk the swelling on her ankle joints. Her right eye was beginning to cause pain and no longer responding to 5 different glaucoma medications for over a year and had to be removed. Her remaining left eye is now healthier, and she can see out of it much better. Since Alice has damaged/deformed toes and feet, and missing her right eye, gets ongoing cold laser treatment, and various eye medications to keep her left eye healthy, we need sponsors who would like to help her.. To sponsor and know more about Alice and her issues, please contact: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal donation/sponsorship email address)

Story
Hi! My name is Judge, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Southern California! I am an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate boy. I love being around people, other dogs and exploring the world around me. I love going on walks. I may be a little shy at first but I am quick to adapt and learn. I often stand quietly infront of people, waiting to be petted, and I really love physical affection. I can be very playful and energetic. I am ready to call you my best friend. Will you give me a chance? I was rescued duringa large wildfire in northern Gyeongsang province in S. Korea this year. I had burn injuries which I recovered from. I still have three visible burn scars... but I wear them as my own badge of honor ('survival"). LA AUTO SHOW 2025 (November, 2025) I plan to be at LA Auto Show this year at DoVE Project's booth. If you want to meet me in person, please email info@dove-project for more details regarding the days and hours of DoVE Project's booth. See you then!!! FOR LIMITED TIME ONLY FROM NOW THROUGH NOVEMBER 30TH, JUDGE'S ADOPTION FEE IS REDUCED TO $600. ********************************* This dog was rescued in S. Korea from an abusive situation. Although S. Korea's new law banning the dog meat consumption is set to go into effect February 2027, and the consumption is all time low, the practice is still in common existence amongst elderly population especially in the rural countryside. No one could tell where this dog would have ended up. Thanks to the rescuers in S. Korea, this pup is longer in danger of getting trapped in dog meat trade! DoVE Project has rescue partners in S. Korea who have their own private shelter and/or foster network. Our dogs stay with either a foster family or a private shelter until they are matched with an adopter in the US. Upon arrival in the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and our adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form ABOUT JINDOS Jindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature. They make great indoor family dogs, as Jindos are clean and easily housetrained, and are faithful to family members. They are also mid-level active and love being socialized at dog parks, going on hikes, and joining the family on trips.

H! My name is Biilie Jean, and I am currently IN SOUTH KOREA living with a loving foster awaiting to be matched to a home in Southern California! Although I may look like a Diva, I am nothing like one. I am sweet, loving and gentle. I love looking at your face. People say they can't resist my gaze - you would want to pet me immediately. I love getting your attention and making you smile. I love people and crave human connection. I sometimes get a little jealous when I see other dogs get more attention than me. My solution? I nudge myself in front of the other dog just so that I can be seen and hopefully get the attention. I like to be held and gently touched. I will kiss you and rest my head on your lap. Will you be my human? LA AUTO SHOW 2025 (November, 2025) I plan to be at LA Auto Show this year at DoVE Project's booth.
