Story
Meet Pipsqueak, Pip for short! Pip is a 2 year old Jack RussellTerrier/Pug mix. He’s a really fun guy that thinks having a great time is his job! Pip loves to play with toys and he loves to be snuggled up on your lap. He the kind of dog that absorbs your energy so whatever your mood is, that’s Pip’s mood too! Pip is a follower and needs a leader. If left to his own devices, Pip is like a toddler that had cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner! He is happy little dog that just wants to have fun. Have I told you that Pip has the biggest personality that you can’t help but love! He is vocal when he plays and he will “talk” to you when you talk to him! He will literally hold a conversation with you and even quietly “complain” when he has to wait his turn for treats. He is 100% crate trained (and sleeps in his crate at night and loves it) and will let you know when he needs to go out to go potty. He is housebroken. He is leash trained but he does pull at first because he is excited and he’s a great road dog.. He is fine with other dogs and cats too. We feel his ideal home would be with another small female dog that has a similar energy level as him so he can have a playmate! He would be fine as an only dog as well, just as long as he has an outlet for his energy. We believe Pip would do best in an adult only home. He has never been around children before. Pip is a great dog that deserves a chance. He is overlooked because he looks like a “little brown chihuahua”. He not a foo-foo dog or a designer breed. I know if he looked different but had the same personality and energy he would have been snatched up immediately. He wants a home that will focus and direct his energy and won’t let him get away with everything just because he is cute and snuggly. He wants to be your best friend. So if you’re looking for a best friend with the stamina and personality of a big dog but comes in a teeny, tiny package then Pip is your man! Pip weighs 10 pounds and is full grown. Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. We do not ship animals or do long distance adoptions. See our adoption policies for more details on our adoption process. If you are interested in adopting one of our available pups, please complete an adoption application. Story
The short version: I live in Long Beach City and an unhoused man had Azula. He was going to give her to anyone who wanted her and she needed medical so I asked if I could have her and he said yes. I got her the medical she needed and she is healthy, happy, playful and snuggly. She's very food motivated and whip smart. She learns quickly! She loves to play ball at the park and play with her stuffies and chew bones. She learning not to be mouthy and is very expressive! I'm looking to find her a home as my 9 year old Staffy is not thrilled and she's scared of him (he has only corrected her a couple times but they are not bonding -they do walk together nicely for walkies). Azula would be wonderful in a home with someone who is active and likes to walk and play with her. Someone who can spend a lot of time with her! She loves to snuggle and sleeps in bed with me.
