At just about 5 weeks old (as of early December 2025), this tiny ball of fluff was abandoned along with his brother. He’s the kind of pup who thinks every human is his best friend, every toy is a treasure, and every nap is a chance to dream big. He’s been given a second chance at life, and he’s determined to make the most of it—preferably in a home where belly rubs are unlimited and treats magically appear. If you’re looking for a sidekick who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and keep your heart full, Saint is your guy.  Apply to adopt Saint (AL) today at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Story
Meet Snowball, a 5-month old, 16-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who is a professional zoomie specialist, toy enthusiast, and your future best friend! Snowball is an adorable, white, furry bundle of joy with springs for legs and love in her heart. This dainty darling may be a bit shy when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes - - and maybe a treat - - and you’ll see her true essence shine right through. Once she decides you safe, you’re officially her person. Snowball loves the great outdoors - - running, jumping, exploring, and showing off her impressive athletic skills. Fetch? Yes, please. Tug-of-war? Absolutely. She romps around the yard like she’s training for the Olympics, and she knows how to have a really good time. Inside the house, Snowball is cuddly, affectionate, and always ready for pets…but she also has a mischievous streak that keeps life interesting and full of laughs. She’s curious, playful, and occasionally up to something…but the good news is, this clever kiddo is eager to please and is clearly highly intelligent. Smart cookie alert! Snowball is crate trained, doing well with car rides, and is currently polishing up her housebreaking and leash skills. She already understands commands like come, outside, inside, and lay down, and she’s primed to learn more. Despite her energy, Snowball isn’t much of a barker, she gets along well with other dogs and humans, and is as snuggly as they come. This ‘lil gal is truly coming into her own and has tons of potential for someone ready to give her love, guidance, playtime, and help build her confidence. In return, you’ll get a loyal, fun-loving, entertaining young pup, with personality-plus! If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application! www.pupstarzrescue.org Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue **Puppies are hard work. Story
Hamlet - 9 weeks & 6lbs (as of 1/31), Jrt & Beagle Mix, NeuteredExpected to be about 30lbs Full Grown Mom is about 27lbs This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy level:MEDIUM – Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Sort of – some puppies enjoy interacting with children, others get easily overwhelmed by their energy and attention. Regardless, most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Most puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Separation anxiety:Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes at night or when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Leash manners:None or learning, depending on the puppy’s age. Will need to work on this skill.   Crate trained?Probably not. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train so some of the puppies that have been with us for a little while are learning this skill. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.) How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2643739##

Story
He is a 7-year old, active, sensitive, routine-oriented dog who does best in a quiet home with experienced owners and no other dogs. He would love a small, fenced yard with grass. He struggles with overstimulation and change, some noises (like our dishwasher) make him uncomfortable, but he is deeply bonded to his person and finds comfort in predictability. He sheds heavily (white hair). He is not suitable for a busy household or first-time dog owners. He is never aggressive toward humans or dogs but is not very comfortable around children and he reacts with loud noises when he sees other dogs. He loves to go for walks and play fetch. He seems to have a behavioral disorder similar to the human autism. He is house trained but will only go potty outside (he would never use a potty pad). We love him but he is not adapting well to life in a small apartment in a big city.

ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)       Jairo's Bio: Jairo was abandoned with another doggie on a rural road. His friend was taken away, leaving Jairo alone, but he was rescued by one of the rescuers who feeds doggies on the same road where Jairo was abandoned. Name -JairoAge - 1 a 2 yrsSex - MWeight - 20 poundsSpay-neuter? YesLeashed trained? Yes...A+Dog, cat, kids friendly? He has always been alone; his rescuer mom doesn't have any children, nor does she have cats or dogs, although when he was abandoned he was with another dog, so we understand that he was used to being around other animals. He likes to chase cats as if it were a game. When his rescuer mom walked him past a group of cats, he ignored them. He hasn't had any contact with children.Any resourse guarding? NoPeople friendly? Super friendly with other people Personality? Friendly, active, runs very fast, ideal for exercising with its owner, for agility classes, likes to hunt and eat, doesn't like water much but handles bath time very well.HW Tested? Yes, negative What vaccines do he have? DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies             All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chloe (GA) — a tenderhearted little girl whose life was turned upside down when her beloved owner passed away. At 5 years old (as of January 2026), this spayed Wire Haired Terrier/Chihuahua mix is learning to navigate a new world, and she’s doing it with quiet bravery and a heart still full of love. She’s wonderful with people, dogs, cats, and kids. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle personality shines through. She’s the kind of companion who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to belong again. Chloe is ready for a new beginning and a family who will cherish her as deeply as she’ll cherish them. If you feel she might be the one, you can apply to adopt Chloe (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Her next chapter could start with you.
