Story
Introducing River… our long, lean, goofy 15 lb dreamboat! Meet River, approximately 2 years old and 100% certified silly boy. He’s got that stretch-limousine body (you know the kind—long enough to need its own zip code ) and a playful personality to match. River is the kind of dog who thinks everyone is his friend… because, honestly, everyone is his friend. River’s story started on River Road, where he was sadly dumped and spent about a week running loose. For his safety, we had to humanely trap him, and we are so incredibly grateful that we were able to bring him to safety. Now that River is safe, loved, and thriving, he’s officially on the hunt for his forever home River comes fully loaded with perks: Heartworm negative Neutered Microchipped Current on vaccines & preventions AND he comes with a GeoTag — because even his adventures deserve extra protection. If you’re looking for a happy, goofy, loving companion with a long body and an even bigger heart, River might just be your guy. ##2621432##

Story
Age: 10 months old Located in a foster home in NY Weight: 24 lbs Vet Record: 100% vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, female Meet Cassie – the happiest tripod you’ll ever meet! Cassie is a sweet, goofy, cheerful girl with big, expressive eyes that seem to smile at you. She is house-trained, loves cuddles, and plays with toys. Her foster says she’s kind, funny, affectionate, and very smart. Cassie is a true little adventure buddy. She loves walks, walks nicely on a leash, and thinks car rides are the best thing ever. Cassie gets along well with other dogs, but her very best friend is a small black kitten. They’re together all the time, playing, eating, and sharing a bed. Cassie was rescued in Georgia (the country), where she was found with a badly broken leg that couldn’t be saved. But don’t worry — Cassie has fully adapted and runs, plays, and zooms around just like any other dog. You’d never guess she’s a tripod from the way she moves and enjoys life. And she really doesn’t seem to know she’s a tripod. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion to bring extra joy and energy into your home, Cassie is your girl. Story
Adopt Jack : The 25lb Tornado of Joy!   Meet Jack — 6 years young, 25 pounds of pure muscle, chaos, and cuddles. Nicknamed  Jackass  (lovingly, we promise), this little guy is a one-dog comedy show with a high-jump that would make Olympic athletes jealous. Seriously, we’re not saying he’s part kangaroo, but we’ve never seen them in the same room…   Jack lives for walks, stuffed toys, and launching himself into the air like he just heard the treat bag open. He’s got the energy of a triple-shot espresso and the personality of that one friend who always ends up on the table at parties.   Important PSA: Jack takes his toys  very  seriously. Like, “not for sharing” seriously. So he’s not the best match for homes with small children who might try to borrow his prized squeaky dinosaur (RIP Squeaky #4).   But if you’re looking for a hilarious, loyal, and slightly dramatic sidekick who turns every day into an adventure —  Jack  is your guy.   Adopt him. You’ll never need a TV again. Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to find out if jack is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2025, 10:14 pm

Story
Piper is a 12-year-old, 15-pound Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix in need of a new home due to changes in her owner's living situation. She is a very good dog with adults and older children, forming a strong bond with her person and loving to be close. Piper enjoys sitting with you, hanging out, and being part of what’s going on. She’s smart and trainable, knowing a few tricks and loving treats, and she loves playing with her toys—especially stuffed ones. Piper gets along well with other dogs and is easygoing in a calm environment. Piper can be a little nervous when there are fireworks or a storm is coming, but she will let you know when they are coming. She is crate trained and house trained, and she’ll alert you when she needs to go out. Well-mannered on walks, Piper would do well in an adult-only home or in a household with older, respectful children. She’s gentle, easy to care for, and loves relaxing near her person. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-stress companion who thrives on closeness and routine, Piper could be the perfect match. If you think your home would be a good fit for Piper, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for her by name, PIPER TX!   February 10, 2026, 4:24 pm
