Story
Meet Fred Murphy This 10 month old hunk of ! a fellow may be small at 15 pounds, but he's packed with personality! Fred is a curious, high-energy boy who loves to explore, play and keep tabs on everything happening around him. He's happiest when he has plenty of toys to toss around and other dogs to romp with-he gets along great with canine friends. Fred was found as a stray and is still learning a few of his manners. He's mostly potty trained (loves the doggy door) and working on leash walking, but his enthusiasm for life sometimes takes over. Since he's part Jack Russell, he's quick, clever, and not above a little mischief...so anything left on the floor is fair game in his book! When playtime winds down, Fred becomes a total snuggle bug who loves curling up with his people for some quiet time. He has not been cat tested yet, but he loves making new friends. If you would like to add Fred to your forever family, please go to goofyfootrescue.org and place an application.

Story
Adopt Jack : The 25lb Tornado of Joy!   Meet Jack — 6 years young, 25 pounds of pure muscle, chaos, and cuddles. Nicknamed  Jackass  (lovingly, we promise), this little guy is a one-dog comedy show with a high-jump that would make Olympic athletes jealous. Seriously, we’re not saying he’s part kangaroo, but we’ve never seen them in the same room…   Jack lives for walks, stuffed toys, and launching himself into the air like he just heard the treat bag open. He’s got the energy of a triple-shot espresso and the personality of that one friend who always ends up on the table at parties.   Important PSA: Jack takes his toys  very  seriously. Like, “not for sharing” seriously. So he’s not the best match for homes with small children who might try to borrow his prized squeaky dinosaur (RIP Squeaky #4).   But if you’re looking for a hilarious, loyal, and slightly dramatic sidekick who turns every day into an adventure —  Jack  is your guy.   Adopt him. You’ll never need a TV again. Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to find out if jack is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2025, 10:14 pm

Story
Meet Spuzzy!Spuzzy lost his dad and came to us with his brothers, Falcor and Tiny Dog. Out of the bunch, Spuzzy is the easygoing one — a fluffy little fuzz ball who takes life as it comes. He’s laid back, gentle, and just happy to be part of the action without needing to be the center of attention. Spuzzy would love a family who appreciates his calm and go-with-the-flow nature. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or enjoying a quiet stroll, he’ll be right there by your side, content and full of love. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow companion who will bring comfort and warmth to your home, Spuzzy may just be your perfect match. Story
Roscoe is a precious boy who is looking for a special home with patient humans as he is learning that the world isn't all scary. He has made great progress in his foster home! For the first couple of weeks, he mostly stayed glued to the couch where he felt safest, and he gradually settled in and became more comfortable. He is now a happy boy who loves to snuggle with his foster mom and play with toys! He also give occasional kisses. He is still scared with new people and in new situations and will take time to settle in to a new home. Roscoe is house trained and does fine sleeping in his crate at night, though he prefers to sleep in bed with his human or in a dog bed nearby. He is generally quiet and rarely barks. He's a great work from home companion and is happy to lounge or chew on a nylabone toy for most of the day with a break for some time to run around and play outside. His foster mom thinks he is pretty perfect! He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home - he let them sniff him when he arrived and since then, they have mostly ignored each other. He might like to play with another dog, but the dogs in his foster home are grumpy seniors so he respects their space. Roscoe doesn't ask for much - he just wants to be safe and loved by humans who don't expect too much of him as settles in and continues to gain confidence. He is easily startled by unexpected noises and movements and would do best in a quiet, calm, and secure home.
