Story
🐾 **Basic Information**
Bokman is a neutered male Jindo mix, approximately 2 years old, weighing **41.9 lbs (19 kg)**. He is currently living in a private shelter in South Korea, where he is waiting for a loving home.
💔 **Rescue Story**
Bokman’s story is one of fear, survival, and quiet resilience. He was abandoned as a young puppy in a remote hillside area, left behind with nothing but an old, broken kennel. At some point, he managed to break the kennel door open himself—but he was too terrified to step out into the world.
A local elderly man discovered him and intended to raise him for meat. In sheer panic, Bokman fled and squeezed himself deep inside a narrow plastic drainage pipe. That pipe became his only place of safety.
For nearly two months, Bokman refused to come out. The more people tried to reach him, the deeper he retreated inside. Volunteers left food and water at the entrance just to keep him alive. Tragically, the man repeatedly shoved sticks into the pipe to force him out, which only intensified Bokman’s fear and reinforced his need to hide.
At that point, it was clear he could not survive there any longer. Our team intervened and rescued him.
🐶 **Personality & Social Traits**
Despite everything he has endured, Bokman has grown into a bright, affectionate, and people-loving dog. He is active, playful, and enjoys human interaction. He gets along well with other dogs and shows a friendly, adaptable temperament in social settings.
🔊 **Sensitivity & Behavior Notes**
Bokman does have sensitivity to sudden or loud noises, likely due to the trauma he experienced while hiding in the pipe. With patience and a stable environment, he continues to improve and build confidence. He does not display separation anxiety or excessive barking.
🚶 **Daily Life & Habits**
He enjoys walks and has good leash manners. Bokman is fully outdoor potty trained and has no known food allergies or picky eating habits. He is generally easy to care for and adjusts well to routine.
⚕️ **Health**
Bokman previously underwent surgery for patellar luxation and has made a full recovery. He is now healthy and active with no ongoing medical concerns.
🏡 **Ideal Home**
Bokman would do best in a home that can provide a calm and secure environment, especially one that is mindful of his sensitivity to noise. A family that can offer consistency, reassurance, and continued positive experiences will help him fully blossom into the confident dog he is meant to be.
🌱 **A New Beginning**
Bokman survived fear, isolation, and cruelty—but he never lost his ability to trust and love. Now, he is ready to leave his past behind and begin a new chapter with a family who will finally show him what safety and happiness truly feel like.
