Story
Meet Hagi – Your Future Best Friend!  Follow his journey on Instagram: @mariasfosterfriends Update 7/21/2025 He’s come so far and is so close to being ready for his forever home! Here’s what’s new: Getting comfortable with new people, especially women (approaches them on his own terms!) Plays well with dogs outside his foster pack and thrives around other pups Wears his collar confidently — leash training is up next! Loves structure + routine, especially with other dogs to learn from Needs a home with another friendly dog and a patient female adopter Still cautious with men, but has made major progress with foster dad Total goofball with toys — obsessed with fetch, tug-of-war, and running zoomies Hagi’s goofy, gentle spirit continues to shine. With the right home, he’ll keep growing into the playful, confident pup we know he’s meant to be. 06/2025 Hagi is a 6-7 month-old Jindo mix who traveled all the way from South Korea and is slowly blooming into the quirky, cuddly pup he’s meant to be. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and a total pro with other dogs—big or small! In fact, he needs a doggy sibling to help show him the ropes and build up his trust in humans. He’s still a little shy around people (especially men) but is making sweet progress every day. Hagi’s not quite ready for walks just yet—leashes are still a little scary—but once he fully trusts his people, we’ll be working on that. For now, he’s happy to hang out at home, toss around a chew toy, or get in a solid nap while you work. He’s not the snuggly-in-your-arms type (yet!), but he’ll plop down next to you, sneak in some kisses, and lean in for scratchies when he’s feeling brave. And when he does feel brave? He’ll invite you to a game of fetch or tug like it’s the best day ever. Quick facts about Hagi: Potty trained and crate trained Loves dogs—big, small, and everything in between Knows basic commands like “sit,” “inside,” and “outside” Must go to a home with another friendly dog Favorite toys: balls, squeaky toys, and... socks! Loves stretching out by the window and soaking up the sunshine If you’ve got a pup looking for a gentle playmate and the patience to help Hagi grow at his own pace, he just might be your perfect match. Backstory: These two adorable puppies were rescued from the streets of Korea, where they bravely survived by scavenging for scraps and even eating newspapers. Tragically, their mother was euthanized at the shelter they were taken to, but these resilient siblings have shown incredible strength and love despite their tough start. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States ##2265763##

Story
Meet Hasol | Apply Here  Hasol is 1 year old, 52 lbs, and seemingly knows he’s absolutely gorgeous. He’s sweet and sensitive and just overall a fun loving guy.  Our adoptable boy Hasol was originally found with two siblings, abandoned on farmland in a cardboard box. In storybook fashion, a lovely family found and fostered the pups until they could find a rescue to help find homes. From tiny potato to long leggy hunk, Hasol is nothing but cute!Having just turned one year old, Hasol is the happiest guy around. He absolutely loves playing with his foster brother, Baloo, no matter the time of day. He does do wonderfully in his crate and when it’s time to settle, but be prepared for WWE style body slams when he plays with other pups! Everything with Hasol is a lovely walk in the park - he takes time to sniff the flowers and has become very well mannered on leash. His house training is perfect, he loves a good cuddle, and did we mention how handsome he is? Truly, Hasol is the full package.Seeing this and thinking “wow, Hasol really is tall, tan, and handsome!” - take the hint and apply to adopt him! Pre-approved applicants can meet Hasol and his foster privately to fully experience his goofiness and charm.    You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.   Meet Us at Our Next Adoption Event Where: Just Food for Dogs Williamsburg - 625 Driggs Ave When: Sat Oct 31st Time: 1-4pm   Learn more about our adoption process: www.koreank9rescue.org/adoption-procedures www.koreank9rescue.org/adoption-faq   Korean K9 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving dogs from the Korean dog meat trade and overcrowded shelters. Story
Meet Mia | Apply Here This sweet girlie pop is 8 months old and 25lbs! We are pretty confident that she’s a Jindo, but she was rescued locally! A shelter in Teterboro, NJ notified us after an owner surrendered her - they explained her nervousness made it difficult to give her care. We are so grateful they reached out so we could help this little one.Mia is thriving in foster care after having a few days to settle into the routine. She was initially very wary of her foster and not too sure what a leash was, but with continued support and encouragement she’s done a full 180. She’s a big fan of playing with other pups and even has made an especially good friend in foster that she cuddles up with for naps. As the days go on, she’s gaining confidence, showing her spunkiness, and soliciting more affection from humans. She is also eligible for our Jindo Journey training stipend! This means Mia and her future family could receive a $300 grant towards their required training package. Mia is so much fun to work with already, and a fast learner, so we know training will be a blast. Story
Meet Dorori | Apply Here | Fully Sponsored Training Dorori is 5 years old and just 28lbs and has quite the remarkable story. Last year during the widespread wildfires in Andong, South Korea, our team and partners braved the flames to rescue as many animals as we could. Dorori was one of many pups that survived, but was left with scars from the fires. Though it’s painful to think of what she went through, we’re glad she’s with us now and her scars are only proof of her bravery! Sweet Dorori has been away at summer camp with Expawers and is now ready to join the adoptable crew~ When she first arrived in the city, she really struggled to come out of her shell and could not overcome her fear of the city noises. With some fresh air and direction from the gang upstate, she’s a lot more care free!Dorori, also known as “Rory,” was originally rescued during the Andong wildfires in South Korea last year. Though she spent some time at our center in Bundang, she regressed in NYC. Now she’s running around the woods, leaping through ponds and streams, and having a blast with all of her friends. Rory is as loyal as they come and would thrive in a home ready to keep exploring with her.Dorori is also eligible for our Jindo Journey Training Stipend! This means she and her future family are eligible to receive $300 towards their training package - an opportunity to fully thrive for the long haul with guidance and support from trainers that know our dogs well!   You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. Meet Pollo | Apply Here Pollo is 6 years old and 35lbs. He can be a little shy and unsure of things at first, but once he’s given time to warm up he’s a complete goofball. Though Pollo greatly benefits from some structure and a gentle, patient hand, he also thrives with a go with the flow mindset. Pollo loves romping around in the park and has absolutely mastered his recall with his foster @sofiatashmandogtrainingHe’s a big fan of anything fun and is very easily caught in a zoomie run! He likes to play chase with his furry foster sibling and foster alike. Pollo is also super sweet and loving once he feels safe; he often gets so into pets and rubs that he’ll twist all around his foster in excitement. This guy would be an amazing hiking partner down the line! Because of his need for extra time to feel safe and comfortable with new people, Pollo needs an experienced adopter or someone willing to put in the work to earn his affection and trust. If your heart skipped a beat tap the link in our bio and fill out an application! Who knows, maybe you’re the match Pollo has been waiting for.   You don’t have to wait for an adoption event.
