Story
Louie is a 6 year old black mini labradoodle that is 30 lbs. We got him from a breeder in Ellsworth, WI. Louie is very healthy and fit. We give him tick medicine monthly, brush his teeth every night, brush his hair (he does shed some), clip his nails, give him regular exercise, etc. He has regular vet check ups and has all of his necessary vaccines. He is a high energy dog. He is very lovable and loves adults and some dogs that he is familiar with. He does not like to be approached by other dogs when he is on a leash. Louie attended puppy kindergarten through Augusta Dog Training and was sent to a month long board-in through Augusta when he was 2 years old for training with socialization and general training. He is very obedient and a good listener. We can have him off leash on hikes and he stays by us. We have to unfortunately rehome him because he is not getting along with our 14 month old daughter. We know he will thrive with a different family dynamic. He is a great dog.

Story
Sugar Plum is as sweet as her name implies and she has tons of personality! Her mom is a small B&W rat terrier mix and dad is a doodle. Mom was taken in as a stray by a lady with an unaltered doodle. Before she could find a rescue to help with mom, she became pregnant. Sugar Plum is friendly, loving and smart! she is great with other dogs and people of all ages. She has not been around a cat yet but we are confident she will be fine with proper intro. Sugar is healthy, UTD on puppy shots and worming. She will be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. Based on puppy weight calculators we think she will be 40 to 50 lbs. Candy Cane is a precious girl with tons of personality! Her mom is a small B&W terrier mix and dad is a doodle. Mom was taken in as a stray by a lady with an unaltered doodle. Do you sometimes shop late at night, not quite sure what you really want, but loving the surprise of a bargain? Is it cool when what you get isn’t *quite* what you thought it would be ... but you love it even more? Do you love Black Labs with a hint of something special? Then look no further…. Temu is your gal! Temu is a quirky girl who lives up to her namesake every day. Her coat is a beautiful glossy black, and her fur is endlessly soft and petable. Like any good lab, Temu loves the water. She is most likely Lab mixed with Australian Shepherd and has qualities of both breeds. Temu is very loyal and stays close to home. She is being fostered in a rural, unfenced area which Temu thinks is great for runs in the woods and daily swims. While her family works outside, Temu stays close by and entertains herself. Recently, she has been learning to pick her own apples. Temu is about 2 years old, 38# and comes from a sheltered early life. Learning how to properly ‘dog’ is new to her. She recently completed obedience classes and is very smart- she is good with cues and verbal commands. She has a lovely recall and will happily ‘kennel up!’ One of Temu’s superpowers is her ability to get along with other dogs. She has excellent dog manners. She’s also good with cats. She is being fostered by a busy family and is a good fit for teenage kids. If you think you’d be a good Emotional Support Human for Temu, she is interviewing for the position. Key skills she is looking for are confidence, an outgoing personality and being a good leader for her - someone she can trust. She's ready for a person or people to call her very own. Temu is being fostered in St. Joseph, MN. APPLY TO ADOPT Temu at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Temu's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
