Story
Reggie is an extremely sweet pup that we just adopted from a nearby rescue. When we did the meet and greet, he seemed to do great with my two kiddos and husband, and we just loved him. When we got him home, he immediately proved to be very scared of my young children and husband. We have tried working with a trainer to move past this fear quickly, but he had not made progress. Although he has yet to do anything harmful to our children, I cannot risk him reacting out of fear and potentially hurting them. We tried to reach out to the rescue, but they do not have space to take him back. He’s extremely attached to me and is very docile, goofy, and easygoing in all other respects than with children. He likes to play with balls, go on walks, and cuddle. He is definitely more cautious with men. He just needs a home without children that is willing to patient work with him to grow in confidence. The adoption fee is only to recoup our adoption fee from the rescue.

Story
Cooper was adopted after he was found as a stray in Central Massachusetts. They estimated at that time that he was around 2 years old. He's been a wonderful dog and a great friend to our family. He does have some leash aggression when he sees another dog and is on leash. He is wonderful if he sees another dog off leash. He does excellent in dog parks and daycare situations. He is fully potty trained, has never attempted to get on any furniture and doesn't really bark unless another dog comes onto our property. The reason for rehoming is that we have two small children who love to run through the house and be loud and crazy. When they do this it gets Cooper going and he isn't able to control himself and will often jump on them and is very clumsy. He would be a perfect addition to a family that has older children that can give him the time and love. It would also be necessary to have a large yard for him to run in as he has a lot of energy.

Story
Moose is a loving, kind dog. Moose’s dream day would be a morning jog, a chance to steal butter off the kitchen counter, snuggles on the couch, and an evening walk. He has a lot of energy and needs to go to a home that can take him for runs or long walks. He’s great with other dogs (spends a LOT of time at the cabin with a very energetic German shorthair) and cats (lives with one now who he plays with and cuddles). He’s very unsure of kids but has never done anything to harm one. We have a one year old that pulls his hair and moose seems to hate it but has never snapped back. Moose barks a LOT and needs to have a yard. He’s not meant to be an apartment dog. Moose can be a bit of a menace. He loves human food and will break into the garbage if given the chance. He’ll steal food right off the counter when you aren’t looking. We are rehoming moose because I’m pregnant with our second baby and don’t have the ability to provide moose the energy and love he deserves.

These pups are in Golden Valley, Minnesota too!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Look at this face, I mean really!  I’m THE man.  Meaning, I’m not just a lady’s man, but also a man’s man, a kids man, an everybody’s man. Do you know what I’m packed with?  Love. Plan and simple.  My favorite thing is snuggle up with you.  I adore resting my head on your or hear your neck or even your lap.  So if I come off shy and demure, just know I’ll be ready to nuzzle up soon enough. I’m super smart.  I haven’t had an accident in the house ever!  How’s that for a genius.  I go in my kennel without issues and don’t make a peep about it.  How’s that for genius!  I’m even learning commands to go in there as well as for sit, come and have even started ringing a bell to let you know I have to go out to the bathroom!  TA DAHH! Running around is pretty fun too but I’ve been practicing using a leash so I don’t need a fenced yard but I won’t discriminate if you have one.  I think I’ll enjoy long walks once I get the hang of it better.  If there is something I need to work on, it’s stairs.  They scare me, and so do doors.  Again, I’m slowly getting better at both.  Until I’m over my fear, please be patient with me.  I haven’t been around other dogs here and I’m ok with that, but it just means I’m not sure how I’d be with them.  I have teenagers here and we love on each other just fine!  When I first came here, I didn’t mutter a sound but now that I’m learning things, I have let out a bark here and there when I hear sounds in other rooms.  Not annoying, but just to tell you something is “off.”  Well, that’s all I have for now.  I’ll just hang here and chew on my bully sticks and play with my teddy bear and stuffed toys.  *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.  Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.  We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Give it up for me! Dirk!  Yes, applause.  I’m worthy, I promise.  In lieu of an award, I’ll take an application for a forever home. You see, I love lots of things, including toys (which I’m told I am “rough” on) and bones.  Is there a difference?!  Other than one tastes better.  I put forth the same ambition in chewing as I do in my play.  In other words, I have lots of energy.  Good energy. But, sometimes I chew things I shouldn't so my people are careful and don't leave things out that I might chew and accidently swallow.  I’m super curious so it would be fantastic if you had a fenced yard as I’m an expert explorer, but it is not required if you promise to take me on adventure walks. But since I have so much energy, I would prefer a fence.  What dog wouldn’t?! So, what I'm asking is do  you like walking? Please say yes because this kid can walk for 2 miles and not peter out.  We are working on crate training and sometimes I will yell about it (bark bark) when I’m kenneled during the day so it would be best if my forever home didn’t have shared walls.  My people would call me a work in progress for crate training. Oh and car rides make me a little nervous but I hope that gets better.  We are working on potty training – with a good routine I know I will be a success.  I can be an only pet too, but am also very good with other dogs, which is who I like to snuggle with sometimes.  I’m even learning to play with them but also play well by myself with toys. When you least expect it, I’ll sneak in for kisses and I thoroughly enjoy meeting all the people I can.  If you think I’m your guy, head over and fill out an application.  I’ll be waiting!  *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello! I’m Riley, a very timid, handsome, gentle, and usually quiet adult male Poodle who is learning to live with and trust people. I am, however, a total goofball with other dogs especially when I get to run around and play chase so I will need a playmate and a fenced yard at my new home. I also enjoy investigating my surroundings (including the toy box hee, hee), napping, chewing on bully sticks or bones, running the occasional zoomies, following mom around the house, and eating treats whether dehydrated or a Kong filled with peanut butter or Greek yogurt...YUUUMMM!!! I have not met any cats; I’m very skittish; and I startle easily at loud noises, commotion, or sudden movements so smaller kids are not a good fit for me unless they’re dog savvy and very respectful. Home life is very new to me so I’m still learning about things like the kennel/crate, leash, and how to do my business outside. The truth is, I understand that I should do my business when I’m outside…I just don’t fully understand that I shouldn’t do it when I’m inside! I’m also learning about the joy of getting pets and relaxing on the couch and bed, but I have determined that I do not like being the center of attention. I am curious boy with an adorable head tilt that I show off when I hear new or funny sounds and I’m on high alert for my own reflection. It’s quite funny because when I catch my reflection I growl/bark at it! Hee, hee!! All I need now is YOU… a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. Sure, it will take time for me to trust but I promise that if you welcome me into your life…I will make you the center of mine and I will love you more than you could possibly imagine!
