I do fantastic with everyone... other dogs, people and even those weird smelling creatures y'all call a cat. I would make a great addition for just about any family that is looking for a sweetie to add joy to their life. I will need to have a home with no kids or kids that are older. I'm a sweetie but get very excited when playing or when you come home. I can get a little mouthy, which comes from my young age. We are working on my manners but will need strict parents to keep up my work in progress. I am already house trained so that will leave lots of time for us to get right to the fun stuff. I do love going for my walks whether it's around the neighborhood or going on a sniffari on nature trails. I AM NOT a couch potato and will need an active family that will provide me lots of daily exercise, playtime and adventures. He is such a fabulous puppy! He loves everyone he meets immediately and without hesitation. He is good with other dogs and fine with cats. He is doing very well on his housetraining and crates perfectly for the workday. Teddy is a snuggler and loves to cuddle! He also loves toys, walks, and being silly just like any puppy. He is still a puppy so his home should plan for continued training and socialization to keep shaping him into the best dog he can be. Teddy is expected to be a large sized dog as an adult. Doodles have high maintenance coats and her adopters will need to commit to brushing multiple times a week and grooming professionally every 6-8 weeks. Moose is a loving, kind dog. Moose’s dream day would be a morning jog, a chance to steal butter off the kitchen counter, snuggles on the couch, and an evening walk. He has a lot of energy and needs to go to a home that can take him for runs or long walks. He’s great with other dogs (spends a LOT of time at the cabin with a very energetic German shorthair) and cats (lives with one now who he plays with and cuddles). He’s very unsure of kids but has never done anything to harm one. We have a one year old that pulls his hair and moose seems to hate it but has never snapped back. Moose barks a LOT and needs to have a yard. He’s not meant to be an apartment dog. Moose can be a bit of a menace. He loves human food and will break into the garbage if given the chance. He’ll steal food right off the counter when you aren’t looking. We are rehoming moose because I’m pregnant with our second baby and don’t have the ability to provide moose the energy and love he deserves.

Sig is a 3 year old, 55lb, neutered male labradoodle. His birthday is 02/22/2021 and he was gifted to me as a birthday present. He loves my 9yo and has lived with other dogs without issue. He does resource guard, so he does best when fed in his kennel, which he sleeps in and stays in when I’m away from home. He is the epitome of labradoodle - loves to swim but hates when getting his feet wet. Sig will be much happier if he can find a home that is not an apartment. My son and I moved to an apartment last fall for a multitude of reasons and apartment life isn’t settling with Sig. There are too many unknown people, dogs, and sounds so he can’t quite figure out his place. Additionally, I’ve had two hip surgeries so taking him out down the stairs is a challenge. Loose leash walking can use some work - smells are just so exciting! He knows sit, down, wait, go mat, go kennel, off. While a doodle, he does shed so is not hypoallergenic. My priority is Sig getting the home he needs.

I am a lovely young adult female Lab/Shepherd mix who loves eating all treats (who doesn’t LOL!!), tearing stuffed toys apart, sleeping and hunting squirrels. Foster mom says I am in charge of the backyard activity and do my best to keep the squirrels out of the yard. I would love a fenced in yard to explore, but also love going for walks, so it's not required as long as you promise we can take some short walks each day! As you have probably already figured out, I have a high prey drive, so small kids and cats are not a good fit for me. Ok, truth be told, I don’t “hunt” the kids, just the cats but still, I am not crazy about those quick moving kids.  If they were older and respectful, I think we would be besties! I am very friendly with people, but I am a bit wary of dogs that I meet on my walks. I sometimes growl and bark at the neighbor dog or if something alarms me. However, I do fine with other dogs if there is no barrier between us and I have gotten along with all the dogs who have come to visit my home. My mom fosters other dogs and has friends that visit with dog, and we all get along great. I am crate and potty trained and working on leash training. At times I am a bit loud when on the leash and will yell at other dogs. Although I enjoy pulling on the leash, foster mom is trying to help me learn that she is the leader on our walks not me…she’s so silly, she doesn’t know me at ALL!!! I am super smart girl! I know what to do when mom says “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “outside,” “go potty,” and “off.” Alright, if you REALLY must know, I learned the “off” command because I tend to jump on people when I get excited…I mean c’mon, seriously is it really that bad?? Mom has made it clear, by saying “off” and gently using her knee, that jumping on people is frowned upon in this establishment.  Anyway, mom says that I “must have had training before” because I am the “easiest foster” she’s “ever had” and that’s quite a compliment! But I would really benefit from additional training to continue learning new things like safe leash walking and maybe some tricks! My trip from a Texas shelter to MN was an adventure. When I arrived in MN my friends at Underdog discovered I was heartworm positive and I have finished the treatment and now I just dream of finding a furever home with a patient person who will shower me with unconditional love and will not give up on me. If you are looking for a wonderful companion who can’t wait to snuggle on the couch or bed, then we need to meet. I promise I will love you more than you can imagine!! I'm a very handsome Miniature Poodle, and I'm discovering the joys of comfort and love in my foster home. Each day brings me more confidence, and I'm eager to share my overflowing love with a special someone—maybe that's you! I am a bit timid, sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises still make me a bit uneasy. However, I'm getting better at facing these fears every day. When foster mom is still, I'm all about those loving pets and cuddles. But if she's on the move, I keep my distance—I even bolt if she walks toward me. I know commands like "outside" and "stop," and leash and potty training are still on my to-learn list. I'm 95% potty trained, especially with a consistent routine. A fenced yard is a must for my adventurous spirit. I'd love to have a canine companion to show me the ropes, help me 'dog' properly, and boost my confidence. We're working on some manners, and my foster pals are excellent teachers. Walking on a leash needs some practice, and a confident pal by my side would be perfect. Despite being easily startled and a bit hand-shy, I've found joy in playing with toys, furry friends, and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I'm all about giving kisses, nibbling fingers, and enjoying ear scratches. Zoomies are my specialty, especially in the fenced yard or on the stairs. I've got some manners to polish up, like waiting for my turn and distinguishing between toys and household items – hee hee! Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   I’m fairly new here but have been gaining confidence by the day!  As with most dogs, when I first meet someone, I’m a little shy and timid.  I’m really curious inside and want to be near so it’ll just need a bit of time to know that you’re a safe space for me.  I’ve been learning about trust and now I’m more apt to stay put than run, when approached.  Once I’m picked up I just melt right in for love.  That’ll likely be my personality all the time once I know you’re my people.  I’ve just started sleeping on my foster’s leg and inching my way up to hopefully a lap soon. In my spare time I enjoy eating and playing with other dogs.  I’m trying hard to follow along and go potty outside but as close as I am to getting the hang of it, I might need a little transition time to learn it at my forever home too. I do well in the kennel and am working on going inside on command.  Won’t that be a neat trick?! I do need a fenced yard in my forever home. When it is time to put on a leash and harness, I get worried. We are practicing how to stay put nicely to put on a harness without bolting.  HAHA  I’m tricky like that.  I haven’t really had any true leash walking experience so that’s something we can practice.  I do know the command for “stay” which is what I’m told when they want to wrangle me in the harness.  I have been snarky with some of the other dogs here when it comes to my food.  I have to tell them to buzz off, that it’s mine.  That seems to be all it is, as I’m not aggressive.  I can be an only dog too if you’d like.
