Story
Meet Washington, the Lab mix who will steal your heart with his goofy grin and boundless love! Washington is a 2-year-old adult male who is full of life and energy. 🐾🐾 He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he's your best friend for life. He's always happy 😃 to see you, whether you've been gone for five minutes or five hours. He loves to play with toys🧸 , go for walks, and cuddle on the couch. Washington can be a bit dominant with other dogs, so he's best suited for a home with either no other dogs or older, calmer dogs. He's good with most dogs once he gets to know them, but he does appreciate having some space to himself sometimes. Washington is also great with older children 👦. He's gentle and playful, and he loves to run around the backyard. He's not a good fit for homes with very young children, as he can be a bit too rambunctious for them. Overall, Washington is a loving, happy dog who would make a great addition to any family. He's smart, trainable, and always up for an adventure. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh 😂 every day, Washington is the dog for you! Here are some of Washington's other qualities: * He is housebroken and crate-trained. * He is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. * He is neutered. * He is microchipped. If you're interested in adopting Washington, please fill out an application. Washington is waiting for his forever home!

Super sweet little boy, very energetic and lovable. My daughter was in a gas station and a gentleman was giving away pups. She couldn’t pass it up and brought the little guy home. Unfortunately my youngest son is allergic and she forgot. He would make any child happy though!

Story
Affectionately called "Tiny Terra" by her foster pawrents, this gorgeous little pup is an adorable mixture of sassy and sweet. Terra is a medium sized mixed breed that we guess is part Lab and part who knows. She was pulled from a local shelter after being put on the euthanasia list. We saved her, got her healthy and this little pup is ready for her furever! And yes, her ears do naturally stand like that. We're in love with them too. Terra is a precious pup that loves to play but has also settled into an amazing pup that enjoys a good cuddle and movie on the couch. She loves to play in the yard and would adore having a 4 legged sibling that likes to play. She also enjoys going for runs or walks in the neighborhood. This girl handles car rides like a pro and immediately starts the sniffs when you crack the window. She is naturally curious though so an owner that can help establish boundaries would be better. She's managed to get her nose in our coffee cups more than once but isn't destructive. This playful pup will be an amazing addition to the right family. Terra would be great with older kids that are steady on 2 legs. She's incredibly smart, knows sit and working on place, house trained, crate trained, and knows her leash manners. Terra corrects easily and is very sensitive so gentle guidance will be all you need for her. She can get chatty when she's frustrated, like when her 4 legged siblings don't want to play. :D A simple "that's enough" and she settles. If you're interested in learning more about this gorgeous girl or would like to apply and have her join your family, please submit this form: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will reach out from there.

🎾Jak Hi I’m Jak, I started my life in a rural shelter but I am thriving with my foster family! I am a very very sweet and loving boy who wants nothing more then to cuddle my humans! I LOVE going for walks, chewing on bones, playing with toys and sunbathing in the yard. My foster mum says I’m perfect on the leash and walk well with other dogs. I’m good with kids and other dogs. Jak is a great listener and has been fun to train and work with. He picks things up so quickly! Jak would make a great addition to any family or single person who has plenty of love to give and wants to take him on the locational outing. Jak does not enjoy dog parks but will go on every hike or public outing with you.

🐾DARLA❤️ Darla is a 1-year-old lab mix that is unfortunately looking for a new home because the baby in her home is allergic to her😞 so we are here to help! Her current humans say they love the way she smiles when she stretches for her walks in the morning, and that she is the perfect exercise partner! She is a loveable companion that brings happiness and joy to even the darkest of days ☀️ Darla is a very adventurous pup. She loves to socialize with other dogs and play all day. Her perfect home will have treats, toys, and bones - and of course nice spot to sleep and hang out when her humans are gone! 💤 Although her tiny human is allergic to her, Darla loves babies and kids. Humans and dogs of all sizes are her bff’s! Darla’s current mom says she has been her joy and hope in dark times, and she is hopeful for a wonderful forever family for her. 🏡 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. 🐾LUKE❣️ This handsome guy is Luke! He is an awesome pup who has been patiently waiting for his family to find him for almost a year 🥲 Luke is a 10 month old lab mix. He has grown up in foster homes and so ready for a home of his own. He is great with other dogs and children. Luke is a big boy and would do best in a home with older children because of his size. He would love to have another pup to play with. 🐕 Luke is already crate and house trained and finished with all the crazy puppy chewing ✅. He is a smart boy who loves to learn new things and can sit and shake and is a champ at fetch 🎾 Luke would be an amazing family dog and is fostered with two young girls who he loves. He would also be a great hiking partner and loves adventures. If you think Luke sounds like a great fit for your family then please fill out the app. This incredible guy has waited long enough to have a home and family of his own. ❤️

Story
Bark Shelton is the last of his litter still looking for his “furever” 🐶🖤 He has had two adoptions back out, at no fault of his own, but he is ready for the real deal! Check him out below 👇🏼 Bark Shelton is a 13 week old, sweet as pie lab mix that is more than ready to find his forever family! He adores kids and other dogs and will make the perfect family dog🖤 This handsome boy loves playing with toys, wrestling with other dogs, waiting at the gate to see his foster kiddos, and he loves to eat!! He is a big boy but a gentle giant that gets along with every human and dog he meets, big or small! 🐶 Shelton is harness trained to walk on leash, house trained and crate trained! He LOVES a good car ride and any opportunity to socialize 🐕 He will do best in a home with a yard where he can run freely and play, especially a good game of fetch because he loves his tennis balls. We think he will love adventure, hikes, and he even enjoys baths- so will probably be a great swimming pal! He is potty trained and fully kennel trained and sits to wait for his food, even with other dogs around! Bark Shelton is a great dog, that deserves a wonderful family. Is it you?
