Meet Washington, the Lab mix who will steal your heart with his goofy grin and boundless love! Washington is a 2-year-old adult male who is full of life and energy. 🐾🐾 He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he's your best friend for life. He's always happy 😃 to see you, whether you've been gone for five minutes or five hours. He loves to play with toys🧸 , go for walks, and cuddle on the couch. Washington can be a bit dominant with other dogs, so he's best suited for a home with either no other dogs or older, calmer dogs. He's good with most dogs once he gets to know them, but he does appreciate having some space to himself sometimes. Washington is also great with older children 👦. He's gentle and playful, and he loves to run around the backyard. He's not a good fit for homes with very young children, as he can be a bit too rambunctious for them. Overall, Washington is a loving, happy dog who would make a great addition to any family. He's smart, trainable, and always up for an adventure. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh 😂 every day, Washington is the dog for you! Here are some of Washington's other qualities: * He is housebroken and crate-trained. * He is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. * He is neutered. * He is microchipped. If you're interested in adopting Washington, please fill out an application. Washington is waiting for his forever home!

Story
Meet Cali! Cali is a 4-month-old lab mix puppy with a sweet and gentle soul. Born to a feral mom, she and her siblings spent the first couple of months of their lives without much human interaction, so she’ll always be a bit shy. But once Cali warms up, she’s the most easygoing and lovable companion you could ask for. Cali adores other dogs and finds confidence in following her four-legged foster siblings. She’s doing great learning the ropes, including house training and using the doggie door. At night, Cali cozies up in bed with the children in her foster home (they even argue over whose turn it is to snuggle with her!). Cali is looking for a patient and loving family with another dog to help her continue building trust and confidence. If you’re ready to give this sweet girl a safe and happy forever home, Cali will fill your life with quiet love and gentle loyalty. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Affectionately called "Tiny Terra" by her foster pawrents, this gorgeous little pup is an adorable mixture of sassy and sweet. Terra is a medium sized mixed breed that we guess is part Lab and part who knows. She was pulled from a local shelter after being put on the euthanasia list. We saved her, got her healthy and this little pup is ready for her furever! And yes, her ears do naturally stand like that. We're in love with them too. Terra is a precious pup that loves to play but has also settled into an amazing pup that enjoys a good cuddle and movie on the couch. She loves to play in the yard and would adore having a 4 legged sibling that likes to play. She also enjoys going for runs or walks in the neighborhood. This girl handles car rides like a pro and immediately starts the sniffs when you crack the window. She is naturally curious though so an owner that can help establish boundaries would be better. She's managed to get her nose in our coffee cups more than once but isn't destructive. This playful pup will be an amazing addition to the right family. Terra would be great with older kids that are steady on 2 legs. She's incredibly smart, knows sit and working on place, house trained, crate trained, and knows her leash manners. Terra corrects easily and is very sensitive so gentle guidance will be all you need for her. She can get chatty when she's frustrated, like when her 4 legged siblings don't want to play. :D A simple "that's enough" and she settles. If you're interested in learning more about this gorgeous girl or would like to apply and have her join your family, please submit this form: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will reach out from there.

Story
Locum was a rescue dog from the humane society that recently turned three years old. Locum is a very friendly and playful dog and he is great with kids. As our two boys are getting older and their schedule is keeping us busier and busier with their activities after work and school, Locum is not getting the regular walks and attention he deserves. Locum is looking for a new home where someone can walk him regularly and hang out with him more in the afternoons.
