Story
Nikki and Koda ended up in a shelter in SoCal after their owner passed away. They had lived on a piece of land in Temecula with other dogs of all sizes, cats, chickens, pigs ducks and goats. Nikki had been with her owner since she was a puppy and was described as the mama dog on the property and the animals would all go to her. She even raised a goat as her own! Nikki knows her basic commands and has the sweetest disposition. She loves to snuggle into pillows and blankets for a comfy nap. Nikki is an easy-going girl who craves human affection and has been described as “loving baby animals.” Nikki's son, Koda, is half lab, half malamute who was born on the family ranch. Koda walks nicely on leash and knows his basic commands. He is a sweet boy who spent his days on the ranch outside, taking naps and observing the resident animals on the property. Koda absolutely loves human attention, flashing his charming grin and offering a paw in exchange for affection. These two bonded sweeties are looking for their forever home together!

Story
Ernie came to us after his human suddenly passed away. Ernie had been with his human since he was a puppy and was a loyal, well-loved companion, and is looking for the same bond in his forever home. Ernie is a cautious guy who takes his time to warm up to new people and situations, but once he does, he shines! Ernie has the cutest “march” on walks, combined with his adorable ears that take flight in the wind, that is sure to capture your heart. At 8-years-young, Ernie loves to play ball and with his squeaker toys. Ernie is an easy companion, treat-motivated and does well in the car. As a dutiful watchdog, he loves to spend his days perched, keeping a watchful eye on his homestead. Ernie is a true catch, and on top of all of that, he is good with other dogs and even kids! Ernie would make a great addition to almost any home.

Story
Tank came to us from a Central Valley shelter where he had ended up after his owner passed away. Tank came in with a sister doggy sibling who was adopted by a family friend and sadly Tank was left behind on his own at the shelter. We couldn’t let that be his fate, so we found space and brought him up to Lily’s. At 11 years young, Tank does not let his hip dysplasia and arthritis get in the way of his exploration. With the curiosity and enthusiasm of a youthful pup, Tank has proven that age is just a number! So far, Tank has gotten along with doggies and humans alike at the sanctuary, excitedly approaching new furry friends and asking for belly rubs from those with opposable thumbs! We can’t wait to continue to get to know this distinguished gentleman and we will share more as we do.

Story
Doug came to us after his human sadly passed away. He had lived with his human since he was a young pup and was a well-loved family member. Doug is a friendly and gentle guy with everyone he meets — both human and canine! True to his breed, he loves human affection, leaning in for a good rear pet or ear scratch. Doug is doing well in his foster home and has been very respectful and adaptable with his foster doggie sister. He is a quiet and loyal companion with his foster mom, hanging on the patio while she does yard work nearby. Doug is a great sleeper and lets out a good snore and a moan for a particularly good slumber. Doug is looking for his forever human/s to provide him the loving home he knew and loved in his previous family. He will give back in spades!
