Story
Hello!  My name is Sox and I'm an 1 year four month old, neutered Lab/Cattle dog mix that currently weighs about 50lbs.  I'm a young, playful guy who loves being with people! I'm great at exploring and do well in car rides. I'm still working on some manners, especially with my social skills. I would do best with a family that has experience with teaching dogs all about the world. I'm super smart- I've been getting better at learning to wait before getting my leash put on. Patience is a virtue I'm working hard on, as well as impulse control. I've already learned to fetch, sit, down and stay! I can chase a ball for days, and love to play before my walkies- that way I get tired out a bit before our adventures. I love learning new tricks! My ideal home will be one with adults only, older teens that don't mind a wiggle body. If you have dogs in the home, I play best with high energy doggies just like me! Please be sure to bring the entire household, including any resident dogs, to meet with me prior to taking me home!  For more information, just ask Customer Service about Sox! ID# A928444. If you are interested in meeting with me, please submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to adoptinquire@peninsulahumanesociety.org and an adoption counselor will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet in person. You must be 18 or older to submit an application. Please make sure to include in the application that you are interested in meeting me. Application:  https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Please call (650) 340-7022 for assistance.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
Awhoooo! I'm Emilio! I'm a 2 year old, neutered male, 60 pound Chocolate Lab/Pit Bull mix and I'm excited to meet you! I'm a very affectionate boy but I can come on a bit strong. It's only because I'm so stoked to see you! I love giving hugs and will try to sit on you. I also love to run, sniff, jump -- and did I mention jumping?! I'm super great at it. My buddies here at PHS tell me there are times jumping is not appreciated, and I'm doing my best to learn manners. I will need extra help from my new family with ongoing training. My ideal home will be with adults who are ready to devote lots of time and energy giving me love, training and exercise. I would do best in a home where I am the only pup for now. Since I'm not always sure who I can give high fives too, I would do best in a home with adults only. I can't wait to be your forever faithful adventure buddy! Story
THANK YOU for finding us and interest in our rescued dog. Because we are an international rescue through Taiwan. The dogs are likely still in Taiwan and you will have to meet your dog(s) and pick your dog(s) up from the airport. International airport for picking up dogs: 【SFO、SEA、LAX/ONT、JFK、IAH、ORD、YVR、YYZ、AMS】 ------------------------------------ Ellie’s rescue story: Little Ellie and her 3 sisters were abandoned in a cardboard box in a little village in central Taiwan when they were about 2 months old. They usually hid under cars and trucks for shade and fed on scraps or leftover. It is simply devastating to imagaine how these young pups lived on in such a harsh place where food and clean water were difficult to find. Worst of all, the villagers there are not friendly to stray dogs. A woman nearby with a mental disability claimed she would soon take these pups home for a reason that is best known to herself. Upon hearing it, the rescuer sprang into action immediately as she was deeply concerned about their safety. After she took all the pups in, she got them the best medical care she could offer and helped them get ready for future adoption. Now little Ellie is all set to find her own home and gets all the love and care she deserves. Meet Ellie! Ellie is a playful and stable young pup. She is always ready to greet people of all ages with her happy puppy wiggles. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and especially enjoys her daily walkies with her human. When she moves into a new environment, she might be a bit skittish in the beginning. She warms up and blends in nicely after a proper introduction. She has great passion for treats (will do everything for meat jerky). Ellie might be an occasional enthusiastic chewer as her canine permanent teeth just started coming in, so make sure she has plenty of soft and flexible toys to chew on. Ellie is crate-trained and housebroken, potty trained both on pee pads and outside. Little Ellie is now looking for a loving home and for a chance to shower you with much love and joy! Please watch Ellie’s videos to learn more about her. If you are interested in this little lovebug, feel free to contact us for more information or simply fill out the adoption form on our website.
