Story
Sylvester is a wonderful, happy, affectionate black lab mix who is the perfect family dog. He was found in Stockton with a broken jaw, which has healed very well on its own. His Vet does not recommend rebreaking it because it will weaken his jaw. Sylvester walks great on a leash, rides well in a car and loves hanging out on the couch with his favorite people. Sylvester loves anything that squeaks and is excited to go through our informal agility course. He knows sit and doen and is working on stay. He is a sweet boy who would do well with an active family with older kids who like to go on adventures, take long walks or jog around the neighborhood and chill on the couch. He gets along with other dogs and cats and all people. Sylvester is neutered, microchipped and UTD on his vaccines. If you want to meet Sylvester, please apply at jellysplace.org/forms

Are you looking for a fun dog to explore the Bay Area with? Then Moose is your guy! This gorgeous chocolate lab mix has been waiting far too long long for his forever family. But he still has the biggest smile and is ready to run, fetch and play. Moose is a champion fetcher and like all labs, also likes the water (though he's not too sure about the swimming part.) He's good in the car and wriggles with excitement when he knows he's going somewhere for a new adventure. He's even down for a bath afterwards! Moose is super sweet but can be a little reserved at first. He is GREAT on a leash, very attentive, checking in with you during the walk or run to make sure he's on the right path. He's also very food-motivated, which makes him even more attentive and easy to train. Moose is not a first time adopter dog. He has some anxiety and is much happier when he is with you than when alone. He requires an experienced adopter with alot of patience who can help Moose feel secure and loved. The ideal home for Moose is with an an active, all adult family with a yard. Moose will excel in agility, nose work and any activity that challenges his sharp.mind and eagerness to learn something new. Come meet him today - you won't be sorry! Moose is crate trained, neutered, microchipped and UTD on his vaccines. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted. 1/2 of Moose's adoption fee is being sponsored by a Jelly's Place volunteer.

Raimi is a young, beautiful, happy, smart. active black lab mix who was rescued from death row at the county shelter. Shortly after arriving at Jelly's, Raimi surprised us by giving birth to 3 puppies. Raimi was a wonderful and loving mom and never got impatient or grumpy with her baby. Raimi LOVES other dogs and is a wonderful mentor to younger dogs. She enjoys participating in our informal agility course, especially when treats are involved. She knows the sit and down commands and is currently working on stay. Raimi likes soft, pushy toys and running around patrolling her queendom. Raimi is NOT a first time adopter dog. She is initially very shy and nervous when meeting new people, particularly men. She needs an experienced and patient adopter who will go slowly with her and earn her trust. Once she knows she is safe and loved, she will return that love unconditionally. The ideal home for Raimi would be an active adult family, with a big yard and another dog. Another dog is a must. Sandy and his brother Don were found in the hills as strays at about 3 months of age. A man took them in and raised them until they were about 8 months old when circumstances forced him to give them up. They came to the Sanctuary very wary and timid. Everything is new to them. But they have quickly warmed up to staff, and are learning to walk on a leash. Sandy is extremely affectionate once he is comfortable with you. A big lap dog! Both boys are very food motivated, but eat together....no food or resource guarding. Sandy readily gives up his bowl or whatever his brother wants from him. He is a gentle, loving guy. Sandy will make a great and loyal companion but will need a calm, patient human to show him the world beyond the deep woods in the hills. The staff loves both of these boys.
