Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Breed(s): Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Mix Age:  3 years Weight:  65 pounds Vetting Status:  Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative & maintained on preventatives. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Looking for a dog that is all about YOU? A best friend, a loyal companion? Trevor may just be your guy!   This handsome, eager to please fella was found as a stray, completely emaciated. He gained over 25 pounds and looks like a completely different dog!   Trevor is crate trained, but  much prefers having less restrictions and more freedom. His house manners have been stellar in his foster home -- no accidents or incidents. Trevor loves people, a love bug that wants to be the center of someone's world!   Hanging out and being in your presence & playing with his K-9 companions fulfills his days.  Stuffed Kongs are certainly on the favorites list too.   This sweet boy is a highly intelligent and rapidly picked up on learning an array of commands to include sit, lay, paw, kennel, down and no.   Trevor also enjoys going for a car ride & will gladly offer to ride shot gun on all your important trips...  petstore, mcd's, bank with a drive thru giving out cookies, etc. Trevor has been exposed to a vast array of other dogs, both big & small.  He would love to have K-9 companions,  but surely would not argue with being a SHD (single hound dog) & the center of attention.  Cats seem super fun to chase (eek!) and would NOT be recommended. If you think Trevor may be the pup for you, please visit the link below to fill out an application. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TREVOR  is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
Meet Tina, a gentle soul with a heart as big as her playful spirit! This gorgeous girl is a unique mix of Labrador, Pitbull, and possibly even a herding breed, giving her a one-of-a-kind look and an even more extraordinary personality. At about 70 pounds, she’s got some solid “main character energy,” but don’t let her size fool you—when Tina gets excited, she turns into a delicate little dancer, prancing around with her whole bottom wiggling. It’s impossible not to smile. Tina is estimated to be around 4–5 years old and is hoping to find her forever family to share all her love, loyalty, and goofy antics with. She has a playful side with a sweet, dainty playstyle that makes her a joy to be around. She’s great with kids, though because of her size, a home with children 5+ would be ideal to avoid any unintentional toppled toddlers. Tina isn’t overly interested in toys; her favorite kind of fun comes from playing with other dogs. This girl is a total social butterfly with other dogs and loved her shelter playgroups. She absolutely adores her foster brother, and the two have become the cutest pair of best friends. A canine companion not only makes her happy, but will also help her work off those extra pounds she’s aiming to lose. Tina does have one unique quirk—she can be fearful of men at first. But with patience, consistency, and a gentle approach, she learns quickly that she’s safe and warms up beautifully. She’s a smart girl who listens well, is easily redirected, and truly wants to please her people. She’s also proven to be cat-friendly, peacefully living with cats in both her previous home and her foster home. Tina loves getting out for walks—you can tell it was part of her routine in the past. She may pull a bit on the leash when something catches her nose, but she does wonderfully with a harness, which is a better fit for her size. She already knows “sit” and “down,” and just when you think she’s had enough affection, she’ll gently paw at you for a little more love. This girl soaks up every bit of attention she can get! This Christmas, give your family the most perfect gift—welcome Tina into your loving home. She promises you won’t be disappointed. Story
We adopted Rosie when she was only 9 weeks old. She's lived with our family that consisted of two kids and two cats and most recently this year a newborn baby. She's always been friendly and kind with the children and curious and kind to the cats. With our kids becoming more involved with sports these days and the new baby our schedules have become too busy to allow Rosie the attention she really deserves. We hope to find her a loving new home with a family who can appreciate all the love she has to offer.

Story
Meet Nova & Eddie — two incredible, resilient souls ready for their forever homes! About them Nova (female) — Chocolate Lab mix, ~3 years old. Gentle and a little wary at first, Nova warms up quickly once she trusts you and becomes a loyal, loving companion. Spayed, heartworm‑negative, vaccinated, and microchipped. Eddie (male) — Small black Lab mix, ~3 years old. Visually impaired but confident and independent, Eddie is brave, affectionate, and full of spirit. Neutered, heartworm‑negative, vaccinated, and microchipped. Their story Nova and Eddie didn’t have a stable start in life — they’ve been moved between neglectful situations — but they remain sweet, hopeful, and ready for kindness. These littermates are extra deserving of a calm, loving home where they can heal and thrive. Adoption details Bonded but adaptable: They can be adopted together or separately. If adopted apart, both must go to their new homes on the same day. Ideal home: Must be the only animals in a mature, experienced household. They’ve done well with kids before but will flourish best in a calm, stable environment. Training & care: Both are leash‑ and crate‑trained. They will go home with Trupanion pet insurance for added peace of mind. Requirements: An approved adoption application is required before scheduling meet‑and‑greets. Ready to meet them? These big, lovable “meatheads” are full of love and eagerly awaiting a second chance. To apply, visit www.hillhounds.org and complete an adoption application, or message us to learn more and arrange a visit. Could you be the family (ies) Nova and Eddie have been waiting for?

Story
This tall, chocolate Lab mix is as handsome as he is tennis-ball obsessed! Zeus is a true ball FUNATIC—and we mean it. Say the magic words, “You ready?” and watch his whole face light up. He’ll drop the ball right at your feet, tail wagging, waiting for the next throw… and the one after that… and the one after that. If you pause too long, those big, soulful eyes will melt your resolve until you give in. (Trust us—you always will.)But Zeus isn’t just about fetch. Beneath his athletic side is a big, sensitive sweetheart who loves nothing more than to curl up and snuggle like he’s a 10-pound lapdog. He’s proof that even big dogs can be softies at heart. 💕Zeus has lived peacefully with cats before, so he may be open to some feline friends in his next home. He’s still pending a dog-to-dog test, so stay tuned for updates on how he does with canine companions!Zeus has been deemed Potentially Dangerous in Maryland due to repeated incidents of running loose, barking, and behaving aggressively toward other people and dogs. This is not the same as being deemed dangerous—it simply means he’ll need a responsible adopter committed to keeping him safely managed. For more details, our staff will be happy to explain what this means. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, tennis-ball-toting best friend who will fill your life (and your yard) with love and laughter, Zeus might just be your perfect match. 🎾🐾Zeus's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoptionPlease note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive!
