Story
Meet MasonPoor Mason was brought to us by police after being found hiding in fear behind a house. When he arrived, he was terrified — shaking in his kennel, unsure of where he was or whether he was finally safe. His whole body showed how hard life had been for him. With patience and the steady compassion of our staff, Mason slowly began to relax. You could see his face soften, his eyes begin to hope again. He realized that people could be kind — that the world isn’t always cold and gray. Mason is a smart, sensitive boy who wears his heart on his sleeve and wants nothing more than to feel like he matters. To be loved. To finally have a life where the cruelty he once knew is truly behind him.Once Mason feels safe, his real personality shines through. Despite his size, he’s a big sensitive baby — goofy, playful, and completely convinced he’s a 5-pound lap dog. He lives for affection, loves being close to his people, and follows his person everywhere. He listens beautifully, knows commands, and looks at you with those big, sincere Eeyore eyes that melt your heart.Mason is currently thriving in foster care with two other dogs. He’s housebroken, respectful in the home, loves toys, and is a total foodie. He gives his whole heart to the people he trusts. This sweet boy is searching for someone to share adventures with — someone gentle, patient, and ready to give him the home he’s been longing for. More than anything, Mason wants to belong. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will adore you forever, Mason is waiting.Email: caninecareteam@homewardboundnj.org to meet Mason.

Story
Meet Luna Luna was surrendered through no fault of her own and is feeling nervous and scared in the shelter. She just needs a little time to warm up, but once she does, she’ll show you her sweet side. Luna would love to be your one and only, preferring her food and space to herself. She’s lived with older kids before and would thrive best in a quiet, mellow home where she can feel safe and loved.
