Story
Suzie is a nine year old lab mix looking for someone to be patient with her. She is nervous around new people, but once she warms up to you she is extremely loving. Suzie lived in North Carolina until her first owner died, and then in Pennsylvania until her second owner was incarcerated. She has lived with other dogs her whole life, and has become quite fond of my cat, but she requires slow introductions and her own space to adjust in the early days. She is great on a leash, and enjoys frequent walks, but when at home she is super chill and laid back as she is an older lady. I have been fostering Suzie for four months now, but I am going away to college August 17th and need to find her a home before then. If you have experience with nervous dogs, and have the patience to allow Suzie time to adjust please reach out.

Story
Hi!  My name is Goldie and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and taken to a scary place called shelter where, after my stray hold was up and no one came to claim me, I was placed on something bad called "the list".  I was just about to run out of time and then BCAA heard about my plight and said they would help me ... yeah!  I appear to be a mix of a yellow lab and golden retriever; whatever I am, my foster mom says I'm a sweet girl that loves getting attention from people (just like a lab and a golden!).  I'm about 3 years old so I'm past all of that puppy foolishness, and I am a big girl at around 65lbs.  I have gotten along with other big dogs like me but not so much with the cats ... they look like real interesting play toys so foster mom says no cats for me in my new home!  I have done really well in my crate with no accidents, barking or tearing up of bedding, and I go right in when asked with a treat or two as a bribe (I love my food and treats which I take gently).  I'm pretty good on leash with minimal pulling as I just like to be out and about with my people.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Hi!  My name is Dory and I am looking for a forever home.  I am one of a litter of 7 that BCAA helped my brothers and sisters but my owner decided she wanted to keep me even though she couldn't really take care of me and I ended up in a pen with a bunch of adult dogs.  My owner recently reached out wanting to give me up as well as she had recently been given a yorkie pup and she said I was too rough with her.  I am only about 6 months old and I just want to belong and be loved.  My foster mom thinks 'cause I had to wait until all the adult dogs were finished eating before I could eat that I'm a little behind on my weight and will be on the smaller side for a lab, but now she gives me lots of good food and treats in order to help me put a little weight on (I wasn't quite 30lbs when I came into foster).  I love everyone I meet, two or four-legged, and don't bother those things called cats.  I've done really good in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of any bedding; however, if I see or hear you I will let you know not to forget about me as I really, really just want to be with my people and part of the action.  I've done pretty good on a leash but do have typical lab puppy energy.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Hi!  My name is Ace and I am looking for a forever home.  I was originally adopted out from a shelter but my owners didn't get me neutered and just let me roam.  After I was picked up several times by Animal Control they contacted a small local rescue about taking me in and finding me a home that would take care of me.  A volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said yes!  I appear to be either a doodle or some type of terrier mix with my wire-hair.  I'm about 2 years old so I'm past a lot of puppy foolishness; and I'm around 40lbs and shouldn't get any bigger.  If you're looking for a happy, go-lucky, energetic boy then I'm it!  I love getting attention and going on adventures NS playing with the other dogs in my foster home.  If you're looking for a running or hiking partner, look no further.  I've done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding; however, if I see or hear you I will let you know not to forget about me as I much prefer to be out with you.  I am ok on leash but will pull some in my excitement in being with you and going out on an adventure.  I love my food and treats which will help with future training.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application!
