Story
Hi!  My name is Joey and me and my brother Jesse are both looking for forever homes.  We were taken to a really scary place called an animal shelter 'cause our owners had too many dogs and we were the ones given up.  We ended up on something bad called "the list" but then BCAA heard about our situation and said they would help us ... yeah!  We were really shy when we first came into foster but our foster parents are really nice and I and now love getting attention; I will come running when you call for me and take all of the loving you want to give, and then when you need to do something else I go off and start exploring again.  Our foster mom says if you're looking for a running or hiking partner, you can't go wrong with either of us as we're at a good age where we can safely go for long runs.  The best guess of our mix is yellow lab but our foster mom says whatever we are mixed with, we're both super handsome!  I am the bigger of us at just almost 55lbs and Jesse weighs just under 50lbs; at about 18 months old we shouldn't get any bigger.  We have gotten along with the other dogs we have met both big and small.  I am fascinated about those things called cats and while I haven't been aggressive with any of them, I would probably do better in a home without them.  I am not crazy about my crate 'cause I would really rather just be out chilling with you but will go in for treats and food time.  I am pretty good on leash especially once I realize you are one of the good guys!  If you would like to meet me or Joey, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Winnie is a dream dog. She is so easy and so loving. Her foster doesn't have one bad thing to say about her. She is 2 years old and weighs 30 pounds. Winnie came to her foster home with seven newborn puppies and lost all seven of them. Her foster grieved with her and gave her the most comfortable and safe space they could to learn how to be a dog. The ideal home for Winnie would continue showing her how loving humans really can be. She is extremely loyal and loving. She would do great in a home with cats or other dogs too. She gets along well with the dogs she is currently living with. She will become an adventurous dog, but with time and trust. She is gentle and low energy so she would do great in a family with kids. She has displayed behaviors that indicate she was abused by a past owner; therefore, she is timid when meeting new people but still manages to warm up to them within ten minutes. She is slowly getting used to a leash, but with guidance she is learning the point of going on a walk. She really enjoys exploring a fenced yard and lying in the sun on nice days. She is very quiet in the car and does not get sick. She is crate trained and house broken. She is working on sit and stay and takes treats very gently. Winnie is the cuddliest foster ever. She will snuggle up right with you and want belly rubs, hugs, and kisses. She appreciates every second of love and adoration you give her, it seems like she didn’t receive any before. She also enjoys playing with toys. Her ability to show how much she can still love despite her troubled past is amazing. Winnie still bounced back after loosing her pups to become a lively, happy, young dog. Her foster has never cuddled so much with a dog before and will miss her dearly. Whoever is lucky enough to call her their dog, will feel how strong her loyalty is.
