Story
We adopted champ from a family friend. We got him when he was about two months old . We are looking for a family that likes to go on walks, play in the yard and can give him tummy rubs which is his favorite. He plays in our yard for hours on end, and he loves the outdoors. As long as he has water, he is more than happy to go on long walks and runs with you. Champ is a quiet dog, gentle, loves affection, but also likes lazy time. He is very obedient easy to teach tricks, and his handsome face and dark color can sometimes be seen as intimidating, but he has the sweetest soul. We are providing champs new owners with a large bed, off the ground feeding bowel and food. Collars and leashes also will be provided, nail trimmers , snacks and more . He is all up to date on shots and even has a microchip Incase he gets lost. Please feel free to reach out if you’re interested in welcoming him to your family .

Story
Sweet beautiful Raven was found wandering in a rural area of Texarkana, TX. Several people were feeding her, but none claimed her as their own. She was picked up by a Good Samaritan, who then contacted PAWS NE for help.Poor Raven looked awful with an untreated skin condition, and like many strays in the south, she was heartworm positive. Under the care of her fabulous foster, Raven’s skin is healed, and she has completed her heartworm treatment. She recently tested heartworm negative. She would love a home with another high energy dog about her size. Raven loves to do zoomies and loves a good roll in the grass. She would be equally happy in an active family with no other dogs. She has done well with all the dogs she’s met who are her size and energy level.Raven loves her foster mom’s big fenced yard and we prefer her new home have a fence. She is still working on her leash skills so a fenced yard will also help with getting some energy out.Raven was cat tested and did just fine (see videos) She also doesn’t pay any attention to the parrot at her foster home. https://youtube.com/shorts/NZwIzqgZYhQ?si=7x-GWu_nFjp1HjN-https://youtube.com/shorts/JQgYAAnywH0?si=xHqii-cJxEpUkaUqRaven has not been around young children but is great around older children that she has met. She’s probably best suited for a family with older kids because she will sometimes jump up on you, but she is easily corrected. She loves to go on car rides and does well in the car but needs help loading up into foster mom’s tall SUV.Raven is house trained and acclimated quickly to her foster family’s routine. This pup is just the happiest, sweetest girl ever. She loves everyone she meets, is friendly to all, fairly confident, and would make a great addition to any loving, active home.Name: RavenBreed: Lab/Terrier CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 year as of 4/14/24Weight: 45lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Completed heartworm treatment!!Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7 Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: Yes!Adoption Fee: $300.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Local Foster in New England~I'm Cowboy was adopted to his family as young puppy and until recently we assumed all was well but mom emailed us to let us know that he had started not liking sharing his home with their small dog and there's been some scuffles. He has many, many wonderful qualities!!This handsome boy is so awesome with his humans - he is soooo affectionate and loves watching football or doing anything where he gets to hang out with you.Child friendly - lived with several and they adore him and he them.He does not need to be crated when you leave the house - he's not destructive at all - no chewing anything he should not. He's smart too! He'll sit in front of his food waiting for the "go ahead", he'll nose his leash when he needs to go out and sits when you pickup his leash as he knows he needs to sit before that goes on. Would love to get this guy settled into his forever home- he deserves it!!Name: CowboyBreed: Labrador Retriever MixSex: MaleAge: 6 years  (estimated)Weight: 95 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesHousetrained: Yes and does not need crating when you leave the hours.BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: Has had scuffles (no injuries) with other dogs. Story
Local Foster!Hello everyone. My name is Zuma, and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m a 4 month old scrappy boy, still growing into my giant paws. Sometimes when I run too fast, I fall down and slide in the grass. Don’t worry! I quickly get up and continue with my run. When I’m playing, my foster mom will sing “All I Wanna Do Is Zuma Zoom Zoom Zoom And A Boom Boom!” She says I’m way too young to know that song, but it makes me happy because I know play time is about to begin.I really love my foster brothers! Two are cats and one is a dog, like me. At first we didn’t like to share our toys, but now we’re cool with it. He doesn’t growl at me anymore, and I try not to growl at him. The cats are pretty cool too. They humor me by letting me herd them, and in return I don’t chase them.I also live with two boys, and I really like playing with them. I’m not a jumper, so I won’t knock them down. I love when they throw a ball! I run as fast as I can to catch it, but I’m still working on the retrieving part.My foster mom says I’m smart and a fast learner. I know the words sit, come, kennel, off, eat and treat (of course). I live downtown right now, so I see and hear a lot on my walks. I was a little nervous at first but getting braver by the day. I’m being trained to walk at my mom’s hip and to sit at all the stop signsLook how good I am doing:https://youtube.com/shorts/4Ijk2MQnsY8?si=J2Ygx8pCBc3vamvAI’ll be a great walker. When the family goes out, I stay in my kennel. I don’t mind it, as long as I have some bones or toys. I also sleep through the night in my kennel, but the other night my mom & dad fell asleep with me in their bed and I loved that! I was still all night long. I’m a great sleeper. We’re still working on potty training, but I’m almost there! I know outside is the place to go.I love food! I’m a fast, messy eater. Food will fly everywhere, but I clean my mess. I don’t guard my food, and I don’t mind my humans petting me while I eat. I wag the entire time.I’m just a happy guy looking for an active family that will take me on walks, and play with me every day. I love kids and wouldn’t mind having another dog to play with. I also love naps. When the family is busy around the house, I find a comfy bed to rest in. Actually, I don’t even mind curling up on the floor. I just like being around my family.I enjoy rides in the truck. I don’t have separation anxiety, and I’m working on being comfortable with my humans putting me on a leash. I’m not sure why that bothers me, but I’m getting better at tolerating it every day. As soon as I’m clipped, I’m so happy to go!So if you’re looking for a good boy, look no further. I’m right here!Check out these videos of him playing with his sibling, Chase(also for adoption)https://youtu.be/bnwxVbSJsfc?si=OMVkr-PG-4QzlwOshttps://youtu.be/WZAECdxBTNI?si=O0uur-1p9skcPCqeName: ZumaBreed: Lab mixSex: MaleAge: 19 weeks as of 4/18/24Weight: 28 lbs as of 4/11/24Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforcedVaccinations:   Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are responsibility of adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained: YesMicrochipped: YesCats: YesKids: YesDogs: YesLocation of dog currently:  New England Puppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England.   We can provide a list of low costs SN clinics to adopters when requested. Adoption fee also includes transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You will be required to attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy so if you experience behavior issues you have a point of contact.  PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this??
