Story
Maui is a high energy fun loving dog. He is great with kids but doesn’t seem to recognize that he’s 90lbs lol. Unfortunately a combination of military responsibilities, travel for work, my own postpartum experience, and my sons allergies have led us to the decision that Maui deserves a home where he can receive more quality time and attention. His only “issues” are pulling on his leash during walks and jumping to say hello if he hasn’t seen you in awhile. He has never had any issues staying with dog sitters even with other dogs present. We will provide one month worth of food, harness, leash, dog bed, his kennel, and toys.

MEET SNOW! - I am in foster, please contact the shelter to meet me, or stop by during my next meet and greet hours, Saturday 2/14 from 1-6PM! Are you looking for your dog`s new best friend? Snow is a social young dog looking for a home with teens and adults only, as well as another active dog to be her built-in buddy. She spent time in foster where we learned having another dog with a similar playstyle in the home is important for her success. She originally came to us from the south, and the outdoors is her happy place, so she will need a home with a designated confined outdoor area she can spend time in. Snow is truly as special as a snowflake, she gets along with all types of dogs and would even do well in a doggy playgroup or a dog park. She is also incredibly smart, although she is a deaf dog she is learning sign language and already knows several cues! She is looking for a patient and experienced adopter who can provide her with the environment and excercise she needs to be successful in a new home. Check out her video!Snow is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.For more information on Snow or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Name: Leo Sex: Male Breed: Lab mix Age: 5 years Dogs/cats: Pet free see bio Adoptable in MA & NH My name is Leo. I am a 4 year old Lab mix who is extremely loyal, playful, and very smart. My favorite things to do is play fetch with the chuck it ball in the yard. I get so fixated on that ball that I could chase it all day. I love to be outside with walks or chasing the ball. I also love squeaky toys, and the lab in me loves the water. At the end of the day I will curl up at your feet, and when inside, I will follow you around the house, and watch tv with you. I do growl every once and a while when I see animals on tv but stop when I hear the command “enough”. I know some basic commands. Sit, wait, come, down, ball, enough, and go potty. The last command that I have been working on and am very good at now is “place”. When I hear that command, I go into my crate, and wait until things calm down. I am crate trained, and find that to be my safe space when things get hectic. This is where I eat my meals. I am not food aggressive. You can take my bowl away, and I will be fine. I will also let you know when I need to go outside and need to go potty. When someone I don’t know comes to the house I do bark but I am given the command place, and I go to my crate where I stay until the company is in the house and there is a more relaxed atmosphere. My previous owner had a 14 month old son, and I was very gentle with him. He would even give me his food, and I would gently take from his hand. Also, I got very close with children who I knew, and was very good with them. Once I get to know you and I feel safe, (treats help, I really love treats) I will follow you around, and am very loving. I do not do well with reactive/unstable dogs. I do not like cats. I had to leave my previous home because of this. I have been in a few dog fights. I need an owner who commit to my basic training and proper leash training so I focus on you and not be reactive to other dogs. On walks, I am told to sit, then wait as other dogs pass. I have lived with another dog before for 3 years (beagle mix), and we are fine together. But it took a few times of us being in the same area to get comfortable with each other. I need a slow, controlled introduction to other dogs. We are at this time looking for a pet free home for Leo. We are looking to rehome our beautiful 3.5 year old Black Labrador. This is a difficult decision, and we want to find the right fit for her. She is very high energy, smart, and athletic/ loves to run and play in our fenced in yard. She does best with structure, clear boundaries, and a confident, experienced owner. Good with kids and other dogs. Not a beginner dog — she needs consistency and someone comfortable managing crate-related stress and challenging behaviors. Best suited for an active home with dog experience. With the right person, she will be a loyal companion.
