Story
Chapo is a ten-year-old small 30lbs Lab/Boxer mix who loves people and attention. He is very friendly and does sleep a lot. He is completely house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He sleeps all night next to me in his own bed on the floor next to our bed. He loves walks and is playful and he is very loyal. I'm up in age and have been told I must rehome Chapo due to my personal health issues. I adopted him three years ago. He goes to the dog sitters every Friday through Sunday because I'm a pastor and can't care for him on weekends. Chapo really gets along with other dogs really well, at the sitters he with three to five dogs during the weekend. (We have a wonderful dog sitter if you need one)

Story
Name: Leo Sex: Male Breed: Lab mix Age: 5 years Dogs/cats: Pet free see bio Adoptable in MA & NH My name is Leo. I am a 4 year old Lab mix who is extremely loyal, playful, and very smart. My favorite things to do is play fetch with the chuck it ball in the yard. I get so fixated on that ball that I could chase it all day. I love to be outside with walks or chasing the ball. I also love squeaky toys, and the lab in me loves the water. At the end of the day I will curl up at your feet, and when inside, I will follow you around the house, and watch tv with you. I do growl every once and a while when I see animals on tv but stop when I hear the command “enough”. I know some basic commands. Sit, wait, come, down, ball, enough, and go potty. The last command that I have been working on and am very good at now is “place”. When I hear that command, I go into my crate, and wait until things calm down. I am crate trained, and find that to be my safe space when things get hectic. This is where I eat my meals. I am not food aggressive. You can take my bowl away, and I will be fine. I will also let you know when I need to go outside and need to go potty. When someone I don’t know comes to the house I do bark but I am given the command place, and I go to my crate where I stay until the company is in the house and there is a more relaxed atmosphere. My previous owner had a 14 month old son, and I was very gentle with him. He would even give me his food, and I would gently take from his hand. Also, I got very close with children who I knew, and was very good with them. Once I get to know you and I feel safe, (treats help, I really love treats) I will follow you around, and am very loving. I do not do well with reactive/unstable dogs. I do not like cats. I had to leave my previous home because of this. I have been in a few dog fights. I need an owner who commit to my basic training and proper leash training so I focus on you and not be reactive to other dogs. On walks, I am told to sit, then wait as other dogs pass. I have lived with another dog before for 3 years (beagle mix), and we are fine together. But it took a few times of us being in the same area to get comfortable with each other. I need a slow, controlled introduction to other dogs. We are at this time looking for a pet free home for Leo. Leo is adoptable in NH & MA Please complete an application to foster or adopt on our website www.survivortails.org as well as email adoptions@survivortails.org with interest or questions.

Story
We are so fortunate to have Gracie in our lives and in our program. Her owners were not responsible and didn't get her spayed when she was young, so she ended up in a life-threatening situation and had to have emergency surgery. Her owners wouldn't pay for the surgery, so we agreed and put her in our rescue program. Now that she has been spayed, she's good to go! But she came so close to death with a bad infection in her uterus. We just could not bear to think of her being euthanized as it's not her fault! The Veterinarian that was working the case reached out to me and said this was one of the sweetest dogs she has ever met in her veterinarian career. What better endorsement than that! She even fostered her for the first week we had her. Gracie is amazing with children and loves all humans and anyone that will give her attention. She is housetrained and just an easy dog to love. She can be a little guarded with other dogs, but we think after she gets used to them will be just fine. She is so amazing! Her one nemesis is that she is a bit leash reactive so if you live in an area where you walk dogs with lots of other dogs, she might not be the best fit. She wants to let you know that other dogs are approaching. Her energy is active if you would like it to be or laid-back if that's more of your style as she molds herself to whatever her humans expect of her. She has a beautifully soft coat and everyone that touches her and mention this. She sticks right with you as well and is responsive to her name. Comes whenever you want her with a smile on her face! Our dogs are in foster homes locally as well as in TN. The best way to begin an adoption application is to directly email Stork woods@comcast.net. We are an all-volunteer base group so be patient!
