Story
Meet Kodak!Kodak is the president of Goofy Ears R Us and he takes his role very, very seriously. Which is good because he takes absolutely nothing else in life seriously.A young lab mix at about nine months old, Kodak is FULL of life and energy. He WILL need training, of course, as he's (literally) a puppy with little to no manners. We're teaching him what we can at the shelter but he's going to need consistency so his training WILL need to be continued in his forever home. He's about 55lbs right now and will probably be around 55-60lbs when full grown.Kodak LOVES other dogs. Like, he is obsessed with them. His enthusiasm knows no bounds so he can be a little much for older dogs that have zero patience for shenanigans or for more introverted dogs that want NO part of his nonsense. But a dog that will match his energy? It will be comedy hour 24/7. We would prefer not placing him with cats because he does not understand angry cat language and he WILL instigate like a teenage boy.He also loves people. He's an extrovert to the extreme. He loves getting attention, loves being involved in whatever it is you're doing, and loves playing with toys. He's definitely got mouthy puppy energy (again, he'll need training) so we would recommend older kids (12+) or an adult only home until he's learned his manners. He DOES have skin allergies so adopters will need to stay on top of monitoring his skin and seeking vet care when necessary. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com.

Story
Meet Kelly & Winnie — a bonded pair looking for a forever home together Kelly is a ~45lb 6-year-old Australian Shepherd, and Winnie is a ~85lb 5-year-old Black Lab. They are best friends/sisters who share a special bond, and they’re hoping to find a home where they can stay side by side. Kelly is a gentle, intelligent, sweet-natured girl who may be a little shy at first, but with a bit of patience, she opens up into an incredibly loving and loyal companion. Once she’s comfortable, her playful and slightly sassy personality shines through. She enjoys walks, keeping an eye on the yard (especially the squirrels), and relaxing indoors with her people. She’s well-mannered, good on a leash, and will let you know when she needs to go outside. Winnie is pure sunshine. The best way to describe her is a teddy bear—big, soft, and full of love. She’s friendly, outgoing, and adores everyone she meets, whether it’s people, kids, or even cats. Winnie is affectionate, funny, and incredibly loyal. She’ll “talk” to you, keep you company, and always make sure everyone around her is okay. She loves walks, playtime, and then curling up for cuddles afterward. Together, they balance each other perfectly—Kelly brings a calm, watchful presence, while Winnie brings warmth and outgoing energy. They both love spending time outside and then coming in to be part of the family. Both dogs are: Great with kids and cats Spayed Leash trained In need of updated vaccinations/grooming Rehoming them is a difficult decision due to their owner's medical limitations that make it hard to give them the time and activity they need. They have so much love, loyalty, and companionship left to give, and they truly deserve a home where they can thrive—together. If you’re looking for not just one amazing dog, but a built-in pair of best friends who will fill your home with love and companionship, Kelly and Winnie are ready to fill your home with unconditional love. The best way to begin this adoption is to directly email storkwoods@comcast.net and request an application.

Story
We are so fortunate to have Gracie in our lives and in our program. Her owners were not responsible and didn't get her spayed when she was young, so she ended up in a life-threatening situation and had to have emergency surgery. Her owners wouldn't pay for the surgery, so we agreed and put her in our rescue program. Now that she has been spayed, she's good to go! But she came so close to death with a bad infection in her uterus. We just could not bear to think of her being euthanized as it's not her fault! The Veterinarian that was working the case reached out to me and said this was one of the sweetest dogs she has ever met in her veterinarian career. What better endorsement than that! She even fostered her for the first week we had her. Gracie is amazing with children and loves all humans and anyone that will give her attention. She is housetrained and just an easy dog to love. She can be a little guarded with other dogs, but we think after she gets used to them will be just fine. She is so amazing! Her one nemesis is that she is a bit leash reactive so if you live in an area where you walk dogs with lots of other dogs, she might not be the best fit. She wants to let you know that other dogs are approaching. Her energy is active if you would like it to be or laid-back if that's more of your style as she molds herself to whatever her humans expect of her. She has a beautifully soft coat and everyone that touches her and mention this. She sticks right with you as well and is responsive to her name. Comes whenever you want her with a smile on her face! The best way to begin an adoption application is to directly email Storkwoods@comcast.net. We are an all-volunteer base group so be patient!

Story
Hello everyone, my name is Rambo and I love life. I have been in a rescue since I was a little fellow. My brother and I were found in a ditch when we were 10 weeks old. I do not remember the ditch or my brother. You see, my brother was adopted last year. Here, while I wait for you, there are other dogs and cats. I am such a gentle fellow, some of the other (big) adult dogs pick on me. For the longest time, I would only go into the play yard with the tiny dogs. One day, one of the human caregivers decided I needed a dog pen to run around in. That was the beginning. Every day, I run from my crate to my dog run in the yard. But before I go in, I sprint all over the yard saying hi. I am nervous around people when I meet them. With patience, time, and feeling safe, I will run up to you to be petted. I am such a happy boy! I am ready to start my journey home. My ideal family is active (hiking, camping, going to the beach), and if you are a runner, I am your fellow runner. Please send a message to alittlelonger2home@gmail.com and request an application. Please complete it completely and include the email addresses of your three references. See you soon. Rambo Male Neutered Breed: Lab/ Boxer mix Color: Black Age: 1 1/2yrs old (as of 04/29/2025) Weight: 65lbs Great with adults, dogs/puppies, cats/ kittens. Children are unknown. Adoption Donation $ 495
