Story
Lucy was adopted when she was 5 months old and returned 3 1/2 years later, severely underweight. Her family had come on hard times and said they fed her when they could. She was 40 pounds and just skin and bones… and she was less than an hour from euthanasia when the rescue pulled her from the shelter. She’s doing GREAT now and looking for an energetic person to love and spoil her for the rest of her life. She’s full of life and energy and love and needs a person who will commit to making sure she gets lots of exercise/playtime!

Story
Piggy is a 3 year old, energetic, talkative (rarely barks, but does "Roo!" at you), playful bundle of fun. He loves going to the dog park, playing with the other dogs, daily walks and cuddles. He's a real gentle giant. Great with dogs, and if you have a cat that will stand its ground and swat him a couple times, he's great with cats too! (He likes to chase them, though, so I put "no" for good with cats). He is kennel trained, and will sleep there (but loves to snuggle up on the bed too, if you're into that). He likes to "talk back" and has a hilarious personality and great temperament. He does sometimes jump on people when excited, we're still working on that one. Pig's start at life was a hard one. He was in an abusive environment where he was kept in his kennel virtually all the time, yelled at, never taken for walks, and hit. Despite all of that, he is warm and full of love. He has a puppy's sense of wonder. We're trying to make sure the rest of his time makes up for his past.

Story
This is Duke! I’ve had him since he was 5 weeks old. He’s my baby and it hurts me to even give him up. He’s currently 2 years old, turning 3 November 24th. I was in a domestic violence relationship and he held my items and dog hostage for months when I escaped. When I was finally able to get him back he was not my same Duke, he has a good heart and he’s a very good dog. He just had a very hard time in that house and he just needs extra love and care I can’t give him right now. I have an infant daughter who he adores. He’s very playful! He also has a bit of separation anxiety so he whines a bit when I leave. But, he’s very protective and will protect his own! He needs space to roam and he’s very trustworthy while you’re gone.

Story
Duke is an energetic Labrador mix. He loves to love and will be the most loyal pet. He is very gentle when taking snacks, listens to commands and loves to just be around you. He will make a great addition to a family/person that likes to be active and takes time to walk him or play to get his energy out.

Meet Cookie!Cookie is the most gentle 2 year old lab/terrier/boxer mix snuggle bug! Although he only has three legs, he is very agile and fast. His favorite thing to do is to be with his human, he is never close enough! Although he does love playing with toys as well. He is great with people with a gentle introduction. He's a little scared at first and might bark but that quickly turns into tail wags. With a proper introduction, he would love to have a playmate in his furever home! Story
Meet Choco! The lovable hunk of chocolate who will melt your heart! At just 1.5 year old, he's a playful pup who also adores cuddling or staying close to his human in the evenings. Choco's favorite pastimes include going for walks and engaging in spirited games of keep-away and tug of war with his beloved toys. Whether he's the only dog or has a furry companion, Choco gets along famously. He's potty trained, and crate trained (though he's just as good outside of it). When it comes to meeting new dogs, Choco just needs a brief introduction, like a crate-rotate or staggered walking, until he feels comfortable. Story
Meet Millie! Millie is a charming and lively 1.5 year old dog with an incredible passion for running and playing. Despite her high energy level, she also enjoys spending time with her human friends, cuddling up on the couch, and getting lots of love and attention. Millie is quite athletic and requires a 6-foot stockade fence as she can easily climb and jump over anything shorter. She is a strong chewer, so durable toys are a must. Millie is still learning how to walk on a leash without pulling and will require ongoing training to help her master this skill. She is already house-trained and crate-trained, making her the perfect addition to any home. While Millie doesn't do well around cats, she adores male dogs and will thrive in a home with a furry brother or two. Millie is a stunning dark chocolate color with one ear that stands up and the other that stays down. She is an absolute joy to be around and will make a wonderful companion to anyone who has the time and energy to keep up with her lively spirit.Millie's story is even more inspiring and heartwarming. Millie was actually picked up by animal control as a stray, and while she was there, she gave birth to a litter of puppies. Shortly after giving birth, Millie caught a cold. Unfortunately some of her puppies caught the cold as well which was later diagnosed as Distemper (Millie was not diagnosed with Distemper). Sadly, some of her puppies did not make it, but five of them did, thanks to the loving care and attention they received from their foster! Millie is a survivor and a true testament to the resilience and strength of dogs. She is now ready for a forever home, where she can be loved and cherished for the rest of her life.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt.
