Story
Bear is a handsome Lab/Akita mix with a mellow, easygoing and goofy vibe. He’s happiest lounging for most of the day, but don’t let the chill fool you, he’s always up for a good walk if you are! Bear just turned 7 and has been very healthy with no health concerns. With people and kids, he’s great, calm, and not overly clingy. He enjoys being near you and just hanging out. Bear would do best as the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention. We adopted Bear from the Skagit Valley Humane Society in 2022 and have adored having him in our lives. Sadly, our living situation no longer gives him the space and stability he deserves. We are heartbroken to rehome him, but want him to have the best possible life in a calm, loving, and secure home. We would be willing to travel to you if needed.

Story
Charlie’s life was turned upside down when his family had to move but couldn’t bring him with. This sensitive, calm boy is a 9yr old love bug! He is a great size only weighing 45 lbs. He enjoys long walks and does very well on the leash but his favorite place is cuddled up with his people. He thrives with other dogs and would do very well with a furry companion in the home. He has been attending Furever Friends doggy daycare and he would be happy if his new people could continue to take him there. Charlie knows basic commands like sit, down and come. He listens well and is eager to please. He is crate and e collar trained. If you are looking for a well behaved family member who’s already trained, Charlie is your guy! Story
*** Waylon is NOT in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. We are assisting his current owners in rehoming him. If you are interested in Waylon, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform *** Breed: Mixed (7 breeds) Age: 4 years old (DOB 11/29/20) Health: Neutered, vaccinated, and in excellent health Location: Bellingham, WA ❤️ About Waylon Waylon is a gentle, soulful dog with a heart of gold. Rescued from a Montana reservation at just 12 weeks old, he survived a harsh winter with only two of his littermates. Because of this early hardship, he’s both deeply loyal and understandably sensitive. He’s affectionate and loving once he feels safe, and enjoys quiet companionship and long moments watching the stars beside his favorite humans. When he trusts you, he’s goofy, devoted, and full of heart. 🌿 Ideal Home Waylon thrives with space, peace, and consistency. The perfect home for him would have: Land or acreage where he can roam freely and safely. No neighboring dogs sharing a fence, as he’s protective of his space. A calm environment without the constant noise of the city or frequent visitors. Another friendly, balanced dog he can play and coexist with. No young children under 10, as sudden noise or fast movements can overwhelm him. He’s happiest in a rural or semi-rural home where he can explore, relax, and feel secure. 🐕 Personality and Behavior Waylon is a sweet but cautious dog. He can be: Reactive when startled or encountering unfamiliar dogs. Anxious in chaotic or noisy settings. Playful once he knows and trusts other dogs. Affectionate but independent, appreciating his personal space and quiet time. His reactivity comes from fear, not aggression — with patience and understanding, his loving, loyal side shines through. He bonds deeply with those who give him consistency and calm. 🏡 Why He Needs a New Home With a new baby in the house, the increased activity and noise have made it difficult for Waylon to feel fully comfortable. He deserves a peaceful home where he can relax and thrive again. 🌟 Waylon’s Wishlist Room to roam freely The ability to go outside when he wants No shared-fence neighbor dogs Hikes through woods or near water Fetch a couple of times per day A dog friend to play with A comfortable couch or bed to curl up on 🧡 Summary Waylon is a sensitive, loyal companion with endless love to give. He just needs a peaceful environment, open space, and a patient, understanding person who values quiet moments and steady companionship. If you’re looking for a devoted dog who will walk beside you, watch the stars with you, and love you deeply once you’ve earned his trust, Waylon may be your perfect match.

Story
**This dog is not in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes - rather, we are assisting his current owners in rehoming him. If you are interested in Atlas, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** Meet Atlas 🌎 Atlas is a 4-year-old neutered Labrador Retriever with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a whole lot of personality packed into his large, lovable frame. Atlas is a goofy, people-loving dog who thrives on human connection. He absolutely adores being involved in whatever his people are doing and will often bring you “gifts” (toys, socks, or whatever treasure he finds) to show his affection. He’s convinced he’s a lap dog and is happiest when he’s close to his humans. When the day winds down, Atlas transforms into a dramatic sleeper who fully commits to rest and relaxation. He is very food-motivated and loves playing fetch and other interactive games. Atlas does best with an active lifestyle and would thrive with people who enjoy engaging with their dog and providing regular physical and mental outlets. Atlas has generally been good with children and enjoys playing and greeting kids, but due to his size and enthusiasm, he does best with kids who can be supervised and supported with boundaries. When overly excited, Atlas may playfully mouth as a way of showing affection, and he appreciates gentle handling. With other pets, Atlas has lived successfully with a cat and was friendly and tolerant. He can become overstimulated around other dogs and may benefit from slow introductions or being the only dog in the home. Atlas is best suited for a home that can offer structure, consistent engagement, and outlets for his energy, ideally with adults who are active and enjoy spending time interacting with their dog. In the right environment, Atlas is an affectionate, fun-loving companion who will bring laughter, loyalty, and a lot of heart to his people.
