Story
Please meet Rocky. He is a 1.5-year-old Lhasa Apso (birthdate: September 2022). Rocky was obtained from a breeder in Chicago, Illinois. Rocky is being rehomed because his owner (my mother) died and no one in the family is able to care for him. Rocky is a really sweet dog in need of a home where he will be loved and walked frequently. Rocky likes to cuddle and play. Rocky has been around little children without problem, but he has not had much interaction with other dogs or cats, so I cannot predict how he will behave around them. He has lived with a guinea pig without any issues. Unfortunately, Rocky has grown accustomed to using his mat or pee pad to relieve himself indoors. However, when he goes for a walk, he uses the restroom outside and has no accidents indoors. Rocky is likewise in need of training. He understands and follows some directions, but he may be stubborn at times. I feel Rocky will become an excellent family dog with some attention, affection, and training.

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET BANJO….and he will bring a song to your heart! This youngin’ is a 15 lb, cream w/ silver tips, under 2 yr old, Lhasa Bichon, as best as we can guess, is a doll! He came to us from the South Central Shelter crusted with skin, ear and eye infections…not to mention he was a filthy mess. A bath, some magical cream and antibiotics…a grooming and Banjo is ready to play music for you all the way home! Don’t let his calm appearance fool you! Banjo will surprise you with his longing to go for long walks, hikes or visits to the park. Young small dogs are NOT COUCH POTATOES! Banjo loves to play with you…and other dogs who want to play with him! While we can’t guarantee he is potty trained, we can tell you that he does not lift his leg! He will only go on a pp pad if he can’t get out…but we want him to go to a home where he will get exercised and have playdates if he doesn’t have another dog at home. We can tell you that he DOES NOT LIKE being left alone and you might just hear him singing (howling even!) if you leave him without company! Banjo is interested in toys, but his foster roommate doesn’t give him a chance to get the ball or toy first! Ideally, Banjo will have a home with a yard, maybe kids over 5 yrs old and another dog! He would be the happiest camper! He is very social and really seems to enjoy children. He would be wonderful to take to sports games, brunch or wherever he is allowed to go with you. That being said, he can be extremely active when you leash him (excited to be going)! Do you need some happy music in your heart and a cuddlebug to show you his appreciation for loving him? He’s waiting. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION HERE’S SUSHI….and she is about as delicious as a platter of Sashimi! This absolutely adorable, tri colored w/ black mask, 14 lb, Lhasa Apso mix, is only 8 months old (DOB 10/2024) and was being dumped in the East Valley Shelter. The owner said he was going to be evicted so he could no longer keep her — thank doG a seasoned foster was at the entrance who intercepted said she would take her. Intact, not fully vaccinated and needing a grooming, even though owner didn’t provide much further information, there was no way she was going into the shelter! She will be spayed and fully vaccinated before she goes home! Sushi is super social, friendly with everyone and everything…loves playing with toys and other dogs, giving kisses and happily cuddling with her humans! While a bit overgrown, it is clear that she was cared for, but probably not as well as she will be! Even though she is still a puppy, she sleeps through the night and is mostly quiet — though she does bark at bigger dogs on walks. That’s her job after all…protecting her humans. Foster is working on this and Sushi is responding. Very smart, wants to please! Sushi is on a new adventure to find the ideal home, one where there is another playful dog, someone who works from home or is home and active enough to work with a puppy! Puppies have a lot of energy and when you have a Lhasa, they need to know who the boss is and respect you! It’s apparent the former owner didn’t spend much time with her, as she is still learning where the bathroom is! That being said, she is getting better and better every day and accidents are much fewer! She hasn’t been cat or kid tested, but her foster feels she will be good with both! The owner remarked that he had young children and she was wonderful. If Sushi sounds like a pup you could love for life…let us know! She would probably not be a good match for a mature home…but one with children over 8 yrs old might just be the ticket. Our website is updated daily. Story
BANDIT, recently groomed and clipped, is a long legged Lhasa Apso, who is 6-7 years old, 17 pounds, and has been an only dog with the same family (who could not keep him), since puppyhood. Bandit's only flaw is that he is overly loyal and protective, and will take a nip out of a stranger's foot or ankle if they suddenly come too close. Lhasas are a very ancient breed and were fierce little sentinel and guard dogs for the Dalai Llama and Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. The 14th Dalai Llama sent them as gifts to the West, and they have been a favorite ever since. Bandit is neutered and vaccinated and eager to be welcomed into his new home where he can be the dedicated guardian he was meant to be. Story
Meet Bobby - The Gentle Senior Lhasa Apso. Bobby is approximately 15 years old and is currently in a foster home. His foster mom says he’s a real joy to have around. He adores his foster mom so much that he follows her around everywhere. Cuddles and belly rubs are his absolute favorite. He’s potty trained and has excellent leash manners, making him a great companion for a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. He’s not a marathon walker but he does enjoy the fresh air. He prefers a gentle pace. He’s not a big fan of being home alone for too long so he would do best with someone that’s home a lot We’re not sure how he is with kids or other dogs so a meet and greet is a must!If you’re searching for a seasoned companion to add warmth and joy to your home, reach out to our foster coordinator at vbasfosterinfo@gmail.com so we can meet and see if we can create a cozy retirement chapter together. A medical consult will be required prior to any adoption.

Story
Breed: Japanese Chin DOB: 8/20/2010 Gender: female Altered: no Coat: medium Size: small Color(s): black/white Description Hi, I'm Cutie Potootie, a sweet Japanese Chin in need of a new home with my 'sister' Joy as sadly our owner has passed away. We've been together for many years, so we have to be adopted together. I'm outgoing and active. We get along with other dogs, cats and children, but would do best in an adult only home or a home with older children. We know basic commands and walk well on leash. We are crate and paper trained and know how to use a doggie door. If you have room in your heart and home for two lovable dogs, please fill out an online application to meet us.June 18, 2024, 11:59 am
