Story
Scotcharoo was a very well cared for cat. He was surrendered to us due to health reasons. She felt like she couldn't properly care for him any longer. We recently found out that his mama is a full blooded Maine Coon cat and that explains his size. He's a big boy. Also a typical Orange Tabby boy, very smart, sweet and loving. He's approximately 2 1/2 years young so he has a very long life ahead of him. He has been neutered, and fully vaccinated. He is FIV/FeLV negative, litter box trained and microchipped. Scotchie, as we called him, is ready for immediate transport. OUR CATS AND KITTENS MUST BE INDOOR PETS ONLY! WE WILL NEVER ALLOW THEM TO GO OUTSIDE! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $350

Story
Meet Mr. Mittens! This fabulous boy was surrendered by his owner who was no longer able to care for him, so he is now waiting for the PERFECT forever home. This boy deserves it! He’s all that and a bag of chips! Mittens arrived in his foster home ready to meet his temporary family and say hello to everyone. No hiding or shyness from this boy! Everyone is a new friend, and he shows his casual happiness by doing a patented “flop and drop” as soon as someone starts petting him and talking to him. This means he rolls over and waves his paws in the air—an adorable sign of trust that is irresistible! He is fine getting his super-soft belly petted, though occasionally he gets playful and gives tiny love nips, or sometimes just licks your fingers. Speaking of soft, this boy feels like a bunny…he’s actually ridiculously soft for such a dignified gentleman. No one has told him that rolling around while getting petted isn’t so dignified! Mr. Mittens is a low-to-medium energy boy who has lived with other cats and a dog and would do best with a playful, friendly companion. He is guaranteed to become a treasured member of your family. He’s around 2 years old and still gets playful, pouncing on toys and chasing balls and strings. And did we mention how handsome he is??? That floofy tail! Those big cheeks! But don’t worry, he doesn’t mind if you love him for his looks and gorgeous markings—he’ll gladly meet you at your door anyway. Mittens is vaccinated, neutered, and ready for a home of his own. Come meet him in Lorton, VA, and be prepared to be utterly charmed! We got Felix from one of my kids friends whom could no longer care for him due to health issues. I lost my job and now Felix needs medical attention I think he has a UTI and may have worms I'm not sure this is our first pet. He's a good cat and if I could afford to keep him I would .

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Frostie is 13yo, weighs 15lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, is FeLV/FIV negative as veterinary records will substantiate, but is not microchipped.  He dislikes/fears loud noises, dogs, having his belly touched.  He meows during car rides.  Frostie's guardian adds:            " We adopted Frostie when he was found as a kitten in a barn, and he has never let go of his farm-like instincts.  He is an incredible hunter, often bringing us gifts and leaving them at the front door.  When he isn't outside lounging in the sun or showing off his hunting skills, he is looking to cuddle up to someone in the house.  He is very much a lap cat for about 15-20 minutes, collects his cuddles and head scratches, and goes off to find a quiet spot in the home to enjoy some much deserved rest.  As Frostie is part mainecoon, he is a big boy with a gorgeous mane.  He loves to be brushed and will purr so loud that you can hear him from across the room.  I am pretty sure that he is part human, as he will actually converse with you via different meows (especially the meow that politely requests a treat) and he has never intentionally scratched or attacked us. If we get too close to scratching his belly or scratch at the base of his tail for too long, he will let out a hiss to let you know he is no longer a fan of the loving session.  We always found this respectable as other cats will likely let their claws do the talking without any warning at all. Frostie is a perfect cat for anyone who is willing to give him the head scratches he deserves & a sunny area to lounge in.  We are devastated that we can no longer accommodate him due to my mothers worsening condition, as he deserves to live out the rest of his days with nothing but love." Frostie's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:   "My mom recently underwent chemotherapy and is finding herself weaker and unable to care for Frostie.  In his excitement, he will often run under her feet resulting in a few falls.  We love him so much, and I did try taking him into my home but my own cat did not approve of his new brother.  Frostie is sensing the tension and appears to be unhappy, urinating on my moms semi new couch and rug.  We attempted to take him to the vet to ensure he did not have any urinary issues, but the vet stated that this is likely due to anxiety the fact that the couches are indeed semi new.  He was medically cleared.  Between all of these factors, mom has been trying her best but with the risk of falls and being immunocompromised, we have made the difficult decision to try and rehome him." Frostie's guardian offers a brief medical history:  He once had a urinary blockage and is now eating Purina Urinary Health. Frostie's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Frostie has lived with children, ages 0-5, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating "Scared, hides, allows them to pet him if they are gentle and quiet in doing so". Frostie's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Frostie hasn't lived with or otherwise been around dogs, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "Scared, hides." Frostie's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Frostie has lived with cats, so his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating "It takes some time of course but he does warm up to other cats in the home.  He often goes outside and hangs out with the neigbhor's cats." Frostie's guardian describes him as: Very active Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Fearful Always at your side Frostie's guardian describes his ideal future home: "A home with access to outdoors (he doesn’t roam far anymore, likes to stay right outside the door and enjoy the sunshine / birds).  Preferably a home with no young children or dogs."
