Story
I've been with my current owner for almost 2 years. I was adopted from his nephew, who needed to rehome me due to a family pregnancy. I am definitely a curious cat - every box or bag my owner brings in, I have to inspect it within 30 seconds! I'm a snuggle bug who loves rubs and scratches. I'm now about 5 years old, I have my claws, and am cautious but super friendly once I get to know you.

Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday September 27, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM  at Take Me Home Pet Rescue 580 W Arapaho Rd Suite 433, Richardson, TX 75080 Saturday October 4, 2025 from 1-3PM at Petco in Plano 801F W 15th St, Plano, TX 75075   Marie Curie is the only girl in the ‘science babies’ litter and she’s as brilliant on the outside as she is on the inside! She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, she is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2481268##

Story
🖤 Meet Bobby 🐾 Bobby is a handsome Maine Coon mix looking for his forever home. His mom was a purebred Maine Coon, and his dad was a neighborhood street cat, giving him the best of both worlds—a majestic look with a unique personality. He's a sweet, gentle boy who loves drinking water straight from the faucet and chasing laser pointers. Bobby also enjoys spending time with his people and has so much love to give. He does have allergies and a sensitive stomach, so he'll need to stay on a special diet to keep him feeling his best. This is a very difficult decision for us, and our only goal is to find Bobby a loving forever home where he'll be cherished. If you think you might be the right fit, we'd love to hear from you. 🖤🐾

Story
Diglet needs a home as soon as possible. He has mites and we've treated him 5 times but haven't been able to get rid of them. I had a stroke recently and have high bills now. I can't afford to take him to the vet. He needs help badly, because he has been getting pain spasms now. I recently treated him again but he still got the spasm. He's such a sweet cat, I hate to see him suffer. He's good with people and pets, just until he is healed and the mite are gone, he shouldn't be around kids, because he can't control himself with the spasms. Please someone give him the help he needs.Diglet is 6 years old. Came from a breeder, but not exactly sure if hes any breed. They said Maine coon, but hes not nearly as big as Maine coons are. He's a sweet cat, calm, and loving.

Story
I’m Sue, foster mom for Zeus and Oreo, a bonded pair up for adoption. These two boys have formed a quiet, special bond in my home, and I would love to see them continue that together.Oreo is the one who will win you over immediately. He’s a big, beautiful tuxedo with a thick, smoky coat and a confident, easygoing personality. He loves people, loves being brushed and pet, and will happily cuddle up with you to watch TV. He’s friendly, relaxed, and just a really easy cat to have around. Oreo came to us through no fault of his own when his family had to surrender him due to allergies, and he’s handled the transition like a champ.Zeus is different - and that’s what makes him special. He’s a stunning Maine Coon and a gentle, sensitive boy who takes his time learning to trust. He’s not the kind of cat who rushes into your arms… but he is the kind who will quietly choose you over time. He now approaches, sniffs for connection, and has started asking for pets - and those moments feel incredibly meaningful. These two complement each other beautifully. Oreo brings confidence and ease, while Zeus brings depth and quiet connection. They both enjoy simple things - toys from the toybox, watching the world from a window, and just sharing space with their person.Zeus will need patience and a calm home where he can continue to open up, but he’s already making progress - and having Oreo by his side gives him a sense of comfort and stability. If you’re someone who wants an easy, loving companion and the opportunity to make a real difference in a shy cat’s life, this pair offers both. Oreo will be your instant buddy… and Zeus will be your slow, meaningful bond.Zeus born 6/10/2021At Meowtown, we don’t have a traditional, physical shelter - all of our cats live in loving foster homes. That means they are already used to real home life, and we truly know their personalities, habits, and what makes them special. They are safe, socialized, and ready to be part of a family. They’re not waiting to become housecats… they already are. They just need a house. If you are interested in them, please contact my rescue family at MeowtownAR@gmail.com to arrange a meeting with my foster home!

Story
Missoni is a beautiful 3-year-old medium-haired tabby with a heart as soft as her fluffy coat. She is incredibly affectionate and thrives on connection—her favorite place in the world is right on your lap, where she can soak up all the love and attention you’re willing to give. This sweet girl is social and enjoys the company of other cats, happily engaging in playtime and companionship. She’s also quite the loyal shadow—Missoni will come when her name is called and loves to follow you from room to room, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. Missoni is not a fan of dogs, so she would do best in a dog-free home where she can feel safe and relaxed. She enjoys cozy comforts like cat trees, couches, and beds, but she’s just as content resting at your feet, simply being near her person. Missoni would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of attention and affection—she’s truly a companion cat who wants to be part of your daily life.

Story
Pumpkin is 5 years old. We adopted her when she was 10 months. She is the sweetest cat we have owned. She is friendly with everyone, including strangers. She is great with our 4 kids and our birds. She loves attention and to be petted. The reason we need to find a new home is that she is allergic to something in our new home, which is causing itching and licking at three spots on her body. These wounds have been present since shortly after moving into our new home a year ago. The vet has confirmed it is environmental. Instead of giving her meds, we need to find her a home that she's not allergic to.

Story
It breaks our hearts, but we've made the difficult decision to rehome our sweet senior orange tabby. She is about 10 years old, spayed, declawed (she was when we got her), litter box trained, and an incredibly affectionate girl who loves people. She has done very well with a small dog, but we don't have experience with larger dogs. Unfortunately, she has a difficult time living with other cats, so we believe she'd be happiest as the only cat in the home. This decision has not been easy, and our only goal is to find her a safe, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by kindness and attention. If you or someone you know might be able to give her the home she deserves, please send me a message. We'd be happy to answer any questions and make sure she's a good fit. Please feel free to share this post to help us find the perfect forever home for this sweet girl.
