Story
Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday September 27, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM  at Take Me Home Pet Rescue 580 W Arapaho Rd Suite 433, Richardson, TX 75080 Saturday October 4, 2025 from 1-3PM at Petco in Plano 801F W 15th St, Plano, TX 75075   Marie Curie is the only girl in the ‘science babies’ litter and she’s as brilliant on the outside as she is on the inside! She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, she is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2481268##

Story
Willow is 13 years old. She has lived with a beagle and other cats her whole life. She doesn’t have behavioral issues. She is laid back as she is older. Will be very shy at first. She has a typical Maine Coon personality. Only considering rehoming because my house flooded and the home needs a few months of remediation and I can’t find temporary housing that will allow me to have 4 animals. Never planned to be a renter or long term hotel. I will be listing all 4 pets but only plan to adopt out 2.

Story
Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. Story
Diglet needs a home as soon as possible. He has mites and we've treated him 5 times but haven't been able to get rid of them. I had a stroke recently and have high bills now. I can't afford to take him to the vet. He needs help badly, because he has been getting pain spasms now. I recently treated him again but he still got the spasm. He's such a sweet cat, I hate to see him suffer. He's good with people and pets, just until he is healed and the mite are gone, he shouldn't be around kids, because he can't control himself with the spasms. Please someone give him the help he needs.Diglet is 6 years old. Came from a breeder, but not exactly sure if hes any breed. They said Maine coon, but hes not nearly as big as Maine coons are. He's a sweet cat, calm, and loving.

Story
This is prince. He had originally been adopted around 5 years ago when he was 9. Since adopting prince, we've got to see his personality come through. He's a pretty chill guy and mostly likes to just hang around wherever you go. He's not a big cuddler, but he'll happily sit beside you and accept pets while you relax. Now that he's getting older he's definitely showing a bit of arthritis and he does need a little bit of (cat safe) laxative mixed in with his wet food daily, but otherwise he's in good health and can act independently. He has a very soft coat, but he's having trouble keeping up with it as he's getting older. He'll require frequent brushing.Prince is a fairly large cat, given that he's half maine coon. When we had originally adopted him, he was overweight and had trouble with asthma, but after some time in a smoke free home we haven't seen any asthma flair-ups in the years that we've had him.It breaks my heart, but due to instability here, he'll need a new loving home.

Zara is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. She loves to lay in some sun and bake like a little loaf. She has trouble with her back legs and sometimes needs help cutting mats out of her fur because she has a hard time grooming. She loves making biscuits and loves laying on top of you while you sleep.

Story
Relocated to Texas from Arizona. Living with my daughter who is very allergic to cats. She is so sweet. Loves to look out windows. She has a very quiet meow. She will give you lots of love. When you get her home please give her 3 or 4 days to adjust. Try not to force her letting you pet her. She needs time to adjust to her new surroundings. I have many of the items you will need to adopt her. Once again…many new cat owners who are adopting older cats need to realize that your cat will come around …if you need more information I can help you.
