Story
Mars is a stunning black long-haired gentleman who was nearly abandoned when his owner refused to pay pet rent. But Mars isn’t meant for the streets—he’s meant for a loving home where he can be cherished the way he deserves! This sweet and incredibly friendly boy has never met a stranger. He’s curious about everything and loves to explore his surroundings, making every day an adventure. While he does co-exsist with dogs and female cats, Mars would prefer to be an only child and get all the attention. He would thrive in a family with teenagers or adults only, as he can be a little unpredictable around small kids. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and social feline companion who will always be by your side, Mars is ready to be your best friend. Will you be the one to give him the forever home he’s been waiting for?

Story
Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. We cannot reply to all inquiries, but respond to all no obligation applications. Fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/cat-adoption-application It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Prue is 11 years old. I have been fostering cats for several years and she is one of the ones who never got adopted. She is very loving and gets along well with dogs and other cats but she has behavioral issues which I think are related to so many cats coming and going. She stopped using the litter box awhile back and I feel she would benefit from an experienced adopter who can work with her on retraining. She is super affectionate and would love a home with children.

Story
Meet Twilight, a striking medium-to-long-haired tuxedo kitten with a soft, fluffy coat and bright, curious eyes. With his classic black-and-white markings and charming personality, Twilight is as handsome as he is lovable. He’s full of playful energy, always ready to chase a wand toy or wrestle with a stuffed mouse, but when playtime winds down, he’s more than happy to curl up next to you for some quiet snuggles. Twilight enjoys spending time with his brother Cosmos, especially when they’re chasing each other around the room or cuddling up for a nap. While they don’t need to be adopted together, Twilight does need to go to a home with another young cat or kitten to keep him company and help him continue to grow into a confident, happy cat. With his mix of playfulness, sweetness, and dashing good looks, Twilight is ready to light up your home. Twilight is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. Story
Meet Smooch, the fluffy little heart-stealer with a name that says it all! With her luxurious long fur and adorable extra toes—25 in total!—Smooch is as unique as she is lovable. Her polydactyl paws look like tiny mittens, and she uses them with surprising grace and charm, whether she’s batting at toys or reaching out for a cuddle. Smooch is sweet, social, and full of affection. She loves giving gentle headbutts, curling up in laps, and snuggling close with her siblings or humans alike. Her calm, loving nature makes her the perfect companion for quiet evenings and cozy naps, though she’s always up for a bit of play when the moment strikes. Smooch would thrive in a home with another young cat or kitten to keep her company—ideally one of her Valentine’s Day siblings she’s grown up with. If you’re looking for a kitten who’s equal parts unique and irresistible, Smooch is ready to leave her paw prints all over your heart. Smooch is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. Story
Cheez-It and his siblings were born in our backyard in June of 2023. We took the kittens into our home to help socialize them and prepare them for adoption shortly after they were weaned. We have loved seeing them grow and develop their personalities over the past 2 years and we are excited to have them start their new chapters in their forever homes! Cheez-It is the largest cat of the litter, he has orange and white striped fur and beautiful light brown eyes. He has a happy-go-lucky attitude and loves to play. He is curious and loves being around other cats. He will instigate playful wrestling and dominate his siblings because he is bigger than they are, but he is a big softy. He lives to play fetch and chase lasers around the house until he is exhausted, then loves to cuddle up with his human for a nap. He loves to be pet and cuddle but can be independent when you are not home. All adoption fees will be donated to the SPCA of Dallas.
