Story
Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. Story
Meet KittyBorn in late 2017Fully vettedKitty is a big handsome 20 lb chunk of love with the calmest sweetest personality. He is incredibly laid back and just wants to be near his people whether that is lounging nearby or soaking up affection. Kitty is gentle tolerant and easygoing even around dogs though he would likely thrive best in a quieter home with calmer animals.Kitty has hypothyroidism and takes his medication twice daily like a champ with no fuss at all. He is great for grooming too. Nail trims are no problem and brushing is one of his favorite activities.Kitty started peeing outside the litter box after a big change at home when his owner started a new job. A UTI has been ruled out and the vet believes this behavior is stress related so a stable low stress environment is key for him.The fun stuffLoves tubes and treatsVery affectionate and people orientedChill gentle and sweetDog tolerant and has lived with dogs his whole lifeNo experience with other catsKitty is looking for a calm understanding home where he can relax feel safe and be loved and in return he will give you a whole lot of affection and companionship. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday October 25, 2025 at Half Price Books in Richardson, Texas from 1-3PM 100 S Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080   Meet Enoki, one of our little Mushrooms! This sweet kitten is ready to find her forever home. She love snuggling and playing and would thrive in a variety of homes!  Please note: We don’t DNA test our kittens, but we think Enoki looks like she could be a Maine coon-type mix. She's likely a domestic long hair mix, but "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Enoki falls into that category as well. Either way, we know she’s 100% cute!  Enoki is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2473539##

Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday September 27, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM  at Take Me Home Pet Rescue 580 W Arapaho Rd Suite 433, Richardson, TX 75080 Saturday October 4, 2025 from 1-3PM at Petco in Plano 801F W 15th St, Plano, TX 75075   Marie Curie is the only girl in the ‘science babies’ litter and she’s as brilliant on the outside as she is on the inside! She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Hello, this is Craig & dayday two 9 year old brothers from the same litter. They’ve grown up with each other and love each other. They’re both kind loving timid cats, They do not scratch or bite. And like relaxing and sunbathing and a good treat/ food. I am looking to rehome because they unfortunately have never gotten neutered so Dayday tends to spray/mark. And my parents moved to a brand new house and do not want them walking around because they will spray. So I have the only option of keeping them in My room or they go in the backyard for a little bit.but like any cats they want to roam and not be in a room, Dayday likes being outside but not all the time and for the most part craig is scared of being outside especially when there’s loud noises around. So since moving I do not have the ideal living situation for them. I would love for them to live free , but it’s just not an option at my home right now. They are not needy cats but dont do well with loud environments or other animals

These cats are in Fort Worth, Texas too!

Story
Garfield is a 1 year old male tabby and he is the sweetest boy! He loves to cuddle up right next to you, he loves getting petted and will ask for head scratches by leaning into your hand. He enjoys playing around with his sister Gizmo, and even laying down to watch tv with you. The perfect home for him would be someone who loves a snuggly cat, he’s good with kids and dogs! I fostered him and his sister for a friend but unfortunately i suffer from chronic illnesses and the cats cause flare ups which is hard on my health. Ideally i want garfield and gizmo to be adopted into the same forever home but i understand if that isn’t possible, any home with love, kindness and safety would be perfect!

Story
Gizmo is a 1 year old female tabby! She likes to keep to herself mostly and she can be a little shy, she enjoys playing with toys and occasionally snuggling up in draws. She was a kitten that my friends cat birthed along with her brother, Garfield. After adoptions for them fell thru, I took them in as fosters to help her out until we could find them homes, unfortunately i suffer from chronic illnesses and i simply dont have the energy needed for two cats, their fur causes flare ups for me, leaving me bedridden and its really hard on my health. The perfect home for Gizmo would be a loving, relaxing environment with space for her to hide if she wants and friendly owners who love playing! She can be a little skittish at first but she warms up to you! It would be ideal for gizmo and garfield to be adopted into the same home but i completely understand if that isn’t possible. I just want them to find their forever homes!
