Story
Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. We cannot reply to all inquiries, but respond to all no obligation applications. Fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/cat-adoption-application It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Meet KittyBorn in late 2017Fully vettedKitty is a big handsome 20 lb chunk of love with the calmest sweetest personality. He is incredibly laid back and just wants to be near his people whether that is lounging nearby or soaking up affection. Kitty is gentle tolerant and easygoing even around dogs though he would likely thrive best in a quieter home with calmer animals.Kitty has hypothyroidism and takes his medication twice daily like a champ with no fuss at all. He is great for grooming too. Nail trims are no problem and brushing is one of his favorite activities.Kitty started peeing outside the litter box after a big change at home when his owner started a new job. A UTI has been ruled out and the vet believes this behavior is stress related so a stable low stress environment is key for him.The fun stuffLoves tubes and treatsVery affectionate and people orientedChill gentle and sweetDog tolerant and has lived with dogs his whole lifeNo experience with other catsKitty is looking for a calm understanding home where he can relax feel safe and be loved and in return he will give you a whole lot of affection and companionship. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. Not good with kids, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lucy is a beautiful black cat with the characteristics of a Maine Coon. I adopted her from the Galveston Humane Society and have given her a loving home with all the cuddles she wanted to share. When I received her from the shelter she appeared to be a simple domestic black cat. But within a few months, she blossomed to the spitting image of a Maine Coon. She may not be pure bred but she has all the characteristics of a Maine Coon. She will be 13 years this year in August. She is very loving and protective. I wouldn't dare give her up but I have to do what's best for her and I can't stand to see her suffer any longer in our current environment. There's not enough space here for me to tell the entire story. I'll be happy to share that with whomever is interested in taking her in. She is a senior cat and I am looking for a home that doesn't have a dominant cat in the house. Lucy never had a problem with my calico, Crystal. So I know she will get along with other cats, just not my Niblet.

Story
We adopted Guinness from a no-kill shelter 10 years ago as a kitten. He's part Maine Coon, so he's big. He's healthy. He loves to sit across your chest over the heart. He enjoys playing but with his size, he's a little clumsy so it's entertaining to watch. He enjoys napping in his favorite spots, especially high up on cat trees or dark rooms. He loves being groomed and will push right into the brush to enjoy this feeling. He likes listening to birds and squirrels either in an enclosed porch or on Cat TV on YouTube. He loves his food and tells us when his belly is hungry, even "leading us" to his bowl. We believe Guinness might be happier as an only cat with a quieter home and one where he can continue climbing on cat trees, getting more attention, and snuggling in bed (or across your heart in a chair). We have an expensive special needs cat that he does not like, which is the only reason we are making the tough decision to re-home him. He has lots of life and character to enjoy.

Story
Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday October 25, 2025 at Half Price Books in Richardson, Texas from 1-3PM 100 S Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080   Meet Enoki, one of our little Mushrooms! This sweet kitten is ready to find her forever home. She love snuggling and playing and would thrive in a variety of homes!  Please note: We don’t DNA test our kittens, but we think Enoki looks like she could be a Maine coon-type mix. She's likely a domestic long hair mix, but "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Enoki falls into that category as well. Either way, we know she’s 100% cute!  Enoki is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2473539##
