Story
All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed   Meet Harrison! Harrison is a 7-year old cuddle bug. He loves to have his belly pet, and is especially good at making air biscuits.  If you are looking for the best nap partner ever, you’ve found him! Harrison likes a peaceful, quiet atmosphere where he and his human can relax together. He will reward you with the biggest purrs.  Harrison would make a great companion for an older adult with a less busy lifestyle.  Harrison lived a wonderful life with his owner and other cats.  They were cherished by the owner, who sadly passed away and now we are re-homing her cats. Story
Bitty is the sweetest cat. We adopted her from PetSmart when she was a kitten around 6 or 7 years ago. She is the friendliest and kindest cat I have ever met with both children and adults. Unfortunately Bitty likes to poop out of the box frequently we have tried to manage and put up with this whole time because she is so sweet. Unfortunately, due to our schedules and we now have a little one in the house who is going to start crawling soon... we can no longer have Bitty here. She is an extremely petite cat that weighs an average of only 6.2lbs. She has a huge appetite and drinks lots of water. (Allergic to Chicken) The only issue is, she poops outside her litter box about 50% of the time. (Just poop, she always pees in her box) We want to make sure she finds the right home as she is the sweetest and we really love her which is why the adoption fee is $0.

Story
Like most cats, Aries was found outside and needed help. Thankfully, the folks who found him reached out to RHS so we could make sure he was safe, happy, and healthy. We're still getting to know this guy (As of July 2025), but here's what we know so far:  He's very sweet and very brave. He loves attention. His paws are HUGE and it seems like he still hasn't grown into them. We estimate he's about 11 months, but becuase he was found outdoors, we don't know much about his history. Seriously, we think he's gonna be a XL kitty.   We don’t DNA test our kitties, but we think Aries looks like he could be a Maine coon-type mix. He's likely a domestic long/medium hair mix, but "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Aries falls into that category as well. Either way, we know he's 100% cute and ready for a forever home!  We are still accepting applications on this pet. Please see our process below.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2463561##
