Meet Venus, a long-haired torbie beauty with a personality as vibrant as her stunning coat. As part of the Valentine’s Day litter, Venus is a perfect mix of love and liveliness. Her silky fur swirls with rich shades of brown, orange, and cream, and her bright eyes are always full of curiosity and play. She’s sweet, snuggly, and full of spirit—a kitten who brings both charm and energy to every moment.
Venus loves to play and explore, often leading her siblings on little adventures around the room. She’s clever, confident, and always up for a game of chase or a pounce on a dangling toy. But when the fun winds down, she’s quick to climb into your lap, nuzzle into your arms, and purr herself to sleep.
Venus would do best in a home with another playful young cat or kitten to keep her company—she’d be thrilled to be adopted with one of her siblings from the same litter. If you’re looking for a kitten who brings together bold beauty, affection, and fun, Venus is ready to make your heart her home.
We don’t DNA test our kittens, but we think Venus looks like she could be a Maine coon-type mix. She's likely a domestic lnog hair mix, but "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Venus falls into that category as well. Either way, we know she’s 100% cute!
Venus is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!
Foster-to-Adopt Program Details
We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization
We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted.
Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption.
Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed.
Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.
Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.
Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.
Our Adoption Process:
Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative.
Complete Application. https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/
Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable.
Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space.
Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
