Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. He is incredibly laid back and just wants to be near his people whether that is lounging nearby or soaking up affection. Kitty is gentle tolerant and easygoing even around dogs though he would likely thrive best in a quieter home with calmer animals.Kitty has hypothyroidism and takes his medication twice daily like a champ with no fuss at all. He is great for grooming too. Nail trims are no problem and brushing is one of his favorite activities.Kitty started peeing outside the litter box after a big change at home when his owner started a new job. Meet super handsome and floofy Maine Coon JohnBoot. He is looking for only the most perfect home since he is THE perfect cat according to his current foster family. He’s super snuggly, but also enjoys looking out the window and sleeping up high in his cat tree. He gets nightly zoomies and loves cat toys. He’s very food motivated, love treats, and is super content with belly rubs and warm laps. This chap would like to be an only cat and soak up all the love a new family has to give…and he will give love back big time! He will need time to adjust to a new environment. She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, she is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Miles! Miles is such a loving boy! He is a 3 year old handsome striped tabby! He has been waiting for his forever home for about two years now! Miles does have a habit of love biting so he would need to go to a home with older kids and I do feel that with some work he could get past this! He just loves to be right by your side and craves your attention! He is fully vetted and ready for his family!

Peppa and her brother, Petey, were being taken care of by a Good Samaritan while their mom went through a bitter divorce. After a year, the lady decided she was not going to be able to take the cats back and asked us to help rehome them. Petey is super sweet and gets along with everyone. Peppa is a bit more shy than her brother but is still super sweet. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and tends to get picked on by other cats. Peppa and Petey would do well in a household by themselves, or with other friendly cats and/or dogs.
