Story
Please note: We don’t DNA test our cats. Catelyn is likely just a domestic long hair mix. However, "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. If you do further research, you'll find that most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Catelyn falls into that category of "vaguely long haired cat that is mistakenly called a Maine Coon her entire life."  Either way, we know she’s 100% cute!  Catelyn is a six-year-old sweetheart with a gentle, friendly personality. She’s spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and ready to find her forever home. This lovely girl was sadly returned to us after her previous owners moved out of the country and couldn’t take her along. Despite the change, Cat has stayed her affectionate, easygoing self. She loves attention, enjoys lounging in sunny spots, and will happily keep you company while you relax or work. Catelyn would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving friend who just wants to be part of a family again. Fill out an application to meet her and we can see if she's your purrfect match!  If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. Please read the Adoption Process steps below. Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Story
Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday September 27, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM  at Take Me Home Pet Rescue 580 W Arapaho Rd Suite 433, Richardson, TX 75080 Saturday October 4, 2025 from 1-3PM at Petco in Plano 801F W 15th St, Plano, TX 75075   Marie Curie is the only girl in the ‘science babies’ litter and she’s as brilliant on the outside as she is on the inside! She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption.
