Story
WOOF! I'M SCOTTY! I'm a 3-year-old Maltese in need of a new home! I was rescued from a California shelter - and I was a bit scared there. But now that I've been sprung, I have a new leash on life! I'm a happy boy, always curious as to what's going on around me. I get along well with other dogs in my foster home. I would do best in an adult-only home or with a family with older kids. I weigh 12 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Looks like: Maltese, Poodle Mix Male, 14 years old (estimated), 17 pounds Buddy Boy is looking for his forever pal. Could that be you? Buddy is a gentle senior fellow who is a little hard of hearing and starting to lose his eye sight, but if you lay a blanket or towel down on the couch, he will see that as his spot and is ready to cuddle up and nap the day away! Buddy does great around other dogs and has lived with many canine companions over the years. He used to live with a cat as well. He has also lived with children, but in his senior years, he prefers a quieter home and would love to find someone with whom he can share a peaceful retirement. He loves riding in the car and gets short spurts of zoomies, running around with his soft toys! Buddy can be quite nervous in new situations and meeting new people, so slow and gentle greetings are a must. But he loves people! Once he's met you and gotten some snuggles, you're in his circle! He'll follow you around asking for pets and will even paw at you for attention. Sadly, Buddy Boy's senior guardian recently passed away after being together for the past 14 years. He came to POMDR to find his next cuddle buddy.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Charm is a 3 year old Maltese mix ready to bring the magic to her forever home! Charm was rescued from one of our local shelters after being found running the streets. We scooped her up and after a good bath, were ready to hit the road with our happy gal! Charm weighs around 12 pounds and is a total doll. Charm has a shedding coat but she likely won’t be a Golden Retriever level shedder. Charm is so excited to bounce her way into your arms and start her magical new life with you this spooky season!      Charm is a total dream dog who makes magic blossom wherever she goes! She is so sweet and playful and greets every day with a grin on her face and a tail wagging a million miles a minute. Charm is a total Velcro dog who would love spending every day hanging out with her chosen person. She’s the perfect size to join you on errands or trips to the coffee shop for a sweet treat. Charm is a dream WFH companion as she is happy to curl up in a bed next to you as you take Zoom calls. She could even be a company mascot if you ask us! Charm is down to go with the flow of her household and makes every day amazing. She can even play fetch by herself which is quite the party trick! Charm may be little but she also loves to head out and explore the world around her. She tackles hikes and walks with a brilliant smile and wins over everyone she meets. Charm is also a little foodie and loves snacking on treats as she sneaks them with her brilliant puppy dog eyes. Charm is beyond ready to wave her magic wand and make you fall madly in love with her.  Charm starts her day around 7 AM and wanders around the yard as her foster mom starts the coffee machine. She has her breakfast and then settles in as a member of the dog pack as her foster mom starts her workday. During the day, she is fairly content to hang out and lounge on a soft bed. She goes on a walk in the afternoon with the rest of her foster siblings and loves checking out the neighborhood. She comes home for dinner around 6 PM. After dinner, she hops up on the couch for some snuggle time with her people. She loves a good belly rub or ear scratch. Once she’s ready for bed, she goes out for one more potty and then curls up in her bed for the night.  Charm lives with several dogs and gets along fabulously with them all. Charm is housebroken and knows how to take herself outside when she needs to. Charm is great in the car and loves going on adventures. She loves meeting new people and adores all her best friends. Charm is super smart and is eager to learn all the tricks she can… as long as treats are involved! Charm can’t wait to meet you and make you fall madly in love with her!      Charm is an option for just about any home. She could be a fabulous first-time dog for a lucky family. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9.October 12, 2024, 8:58 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Kerfuffle is a 2 year old Maltese mix who is ready to get lost in the shuffle of love his forever home has for him! Kerfuffle was rescued from the shelter (full story below) where we just couldn’t leave him behind. Kerfuffle is 11 pounds of adorableness and love. Even though we don’t know the start of his story, we know the chapters ahead will be filled with love and happiness. Kerfuffle has a light shedding coat. He will likely require some grooming but could be an option for those with less severe allergies. Don’t let your application get lost in the scuffle, hurry on down and apply for Kerfuffle.       Kerfuffle was rescued from the shelter where he was huddled in the back of his kennel looking like a gray lump of hair. It wasn’t until we got him back to our rescue and gave him a bath that we realized he was in fact cotton ball white! Our amazing volunteers spent hours brushing his hair and getting all the tangles out of his coat. As we washed the dirt off, his personality started to come out. By the time he was drying off, he was running from person to person with a wagging tail and a song in his heart. We discovered he is a total love bug who just needed someone to give him a chance to shine. This is why we rescue folks.  Kerfuffle is a loyal and loving little dude who just wants to find his people and make them fall in love. He bonds super quickly and was already following around our volunteers within an hour of meeting them. He is the perfect size for scooping up and snuggling, and with his adorable puppy dog eyes it’s hard to resist giving him anything he wants. He’s still figuring out the whole “dog” thing but we think he will be playing with toys and zooming around the house confidently in no time. Kerfuffle also loves a good cuddle session and will sit by your side happily for hours as you work or watch TV with him. Just give him your love and he’s set.  Kerfuffle wakes up around 7 AM and goes out into the yard for potty. He comes inside for breakfast and then settles in for a nap as his foster people get their day started. He tends to graze at his food during the day and loves making snack time an adventure. Kerfuffle rotates between napping, checking out the house, and seeking out cuddles for most of the day. He’s a fabulous WFH companion. At around 5 PM, Kerfuffle heads out on his evening stroll before returning home for dinner. In the evening, he gets all the cuddles and snuggles from his people. After one last potty trip, he heads to bed.  Kerfuffle gets along fabulously with other dogs. He would be an option for a home with or without other dogs. He walks very well on a leash and would love to explore the world with you. He has done well at meeting new people as long as you give him the “ok”! Kerfuffle promises to make your life one for the history books if you bring him home. What are you waiting for!      Kerfuffle is only an option for homes with prior dog ownership experience. Kids should be over the age of 10.October 12, 2024, 8:58 pm
