* Interested in adopting? Please read the dog’s full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application at www.dpsrescue.org. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $800 Kindred is a 10-12 month old Malti-Poo with the face of a Disney sidekick and the emotional range of someone who accidentally signed up for Coachella when they really wanted a quiet bookstore café. (BTW, yes, she is non-shedding for those folks who prefer less fur and more spa time!) This girl has lived a life, folks. She recently spent time in a foster home with four college roommates, another dog, city noise, constant movement, and what we can only describe as “an ongoing group project nobody finished.” There were people coming and going, stairs, sounds, chaos, snacks, confusion, and probably at least one guy named Tyler yelling “WHO ATE MY LEFTOVERS?” at midnight. Through all of it, Kindred survived with her fluffy dignity mostly intact. And here’s the funny part: after experiencing what was essentially Doggie Spring Break 2026, Kindred has decided she is not, in fact, the party girl. Take her to a loud public event with barking dogs, crowds, and overstimulation? Absolutely not. She attended one of our Meet & Greets and reacted like someone accidentally dropped her into the middle of a Times Square New Year’s Eve broadcast. She would respectfully prefer to never do that again. Kindred is much more “soft blanket and emotional support human” than “bottomless brunch and rooftop bar.” What she is looking for is a calmer home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. Give her a quieter environment, a predictable routine, and someone patient enough to understand that not every tiny dog dreams of being the mayor of the dog park. Some tiny dogs simply want to follow you into the bathroom like a devoted little cryptid and judge your piano playing choices. And speaking of that: apparently she has very strong opinions about music. Her foster discovered she does not enjoy piano practice. Whether she was critiquing technique or trying to save the neighborhood from jazz remains unclear. Kindred is sweet in the way shy people are sweet. Once she trusts you, she becomes your little shadow. She wants to be near her person. On the couch. Behind your chair. Following you from room to room like a tiny woolly security consultant. She’s affectionate, funny, and full of quirky little habits that make you laugh without her even trying. She’s still learning the basics of being a polished adult citizen. Potty training is a work in progress, she can get distracted on walks by things like leaves existing, and she occasionally makes questionable life choices. But honestly? Same, girl. She would likely thrive in a calmer adult home, possibly with another gentle dog to help show her the ropes. She doesn’t need a loud social calendar. She needs someone who understands that confidence is built slowly, love counts more than perfection, and sometimes the best dogs are the ones who start out a little unsure. Kindred may never be the dog happily attending crowded festivals wearing sunglasses in a stroller. But she will be the dog curled beside you during a quiet evening at home, fully convinced you are the greatest thing that’s ever happened to her. And really, that’s the better love story anyway.  May 11, 2026, 11:15 pm

Low–medium energy, loves lounging Blanket lover & cozy girl Learning to love walks     Eclair is a soft, sensitive little Maltipoo who came from a hoarding situation and is now discovering that the world can be safe, kind, and full of love.   When she first arrived, she was shut down— but with patience and gentle care, she has started to blossom in the most beautiful ways. She’ll quietly approach for pets, pause, and come back for more— choosing connection in her own time.       Personality   Eclair is is gentle and observant girl who is quietly affectionate in her own way. She's definitely curious about people and responds best to calm energy. She can be startled easily but is becoming braver by the day. Her foster dad has become her favorite human and seeing her approach him for pets or attention is adorable.     Daily Life   Eclair is making so much progress! She now recognizes that the leash = walks (she may hesitate, but she’s learning and curious!) and enjoys slow, calm walks as she is still gaining confidence outside. She loves lounging near her people (and watching TV!) and uses potty pads reliably and is working on outdoor potty skills (when on leash, as she does not have yard access.) She currently lives with another calm dog and appreciates the companionship. Another dog in her forever home isn't a must, but would be a plus.   Why Eclair?   She may not run up to you right away— but when she chooses you, it’s everything.   Eclair is the kind of dog who forms deep, meaningful bonds. Watching her grow in confidence, trust, and love is incredibly special— and her future family will get to be part of that journey.        May 11, 2026, 11:15 pm

Story
Buddy and Pocco are two loving male pets, ages 9 and 3 years old, with very gentle and affectionate personalities. Because I have a busy schedule, I am looking for a new home where they will receive the time, care, patience, and attention they deserve. They are sweet, playful, loyal, and wonderful companions who enjoy being around people. My hope is to find a safe, happy, and loving home where they will be treated as part of the family.

Story
NAME: MALTI GENDER: MALE BREED: MALTESE COLOR: WHITE AGE: 2 YEARS OLD WEIGHT: 7.5lbs SPAY OR NEUTER: Yes MICROCHIP: Yes If you would like to give MALTI a forever home, please go to www.adoptadoggie.org to fill out an online application with home photos. Malti is a lovely boy. Poor Malti has been through a tough life. However, it doesn’t stop him from loving and trusting humans. He is very gentle and doesn’t have a mean bone in him. Malti is now in a foster home with other dogs and is good with big and small dogs. He is doing well in his foster home and ready for a forever home. Malti started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. He is crate trained and doing well on his house training. He rides well in the car and can wait patiently while his foster mom runs errands. Malti is a wonderful family dog. Malti’s Rescue Story Malti was rescued from a poorly run private shelter. The shelter has over 2,000 dogs living in cramped and wet environment. Malti along with her other friends were used as breeding dogs. After they were done with her, poor Malti was sent to a private shelter where she lived in a cage and never let out. A kind international rescue organization got a rescue message from a volunteer. The founder has over 160 dogs waiting for homes and didn’t have space for another dog. However, when she saw photos of the dogs suffering. She knew it was urgent to rescue them. The rescue took home 19 dogs and promised to find them forever loving homes. Malti had a thorough medical checkup. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on his blood tests. Please give Malti a loving forever home.
