All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Sushi is a 2 year old Maltese x Poodle mix who is ready to serve up hand rolls of cuteness and kisses! Sushi was surrendered to our rescue by a good citizen who rescued her and her babies from a dirty yard. We promised to find this little family a safe place to land before they headed off to their forever homes. They rolled right into fosters and have been living it up ever since. Sushi was an amazing Mama and now she’s ready to find a home ready to adore her. She has a light shedding coat that will require grooming but she may not be an option for those with allergies. What are you waiting for? Order up some Sushi today!   Sushi is a gal with a heart that is just bursting out of her body with all the love she has to show the world. Sushi loves her people and will faithfully follow you to the ends of the Earth once you gain her trust. She loves belly rubs and will give you endless kisses as you shower her in love. She has a tail that never stops wagging and will give you a bright smile when she is happy. Sushi would love a home that wants a Sushi-shaped pillow on their bed, as she just wants to be near you all the time! With a face as cute as hers, it’s hard to resist. Sushi will need some time to adjust to her new home (the world is very big when you are a petite pup), but with a loving home we know she will thrive. Sushi is very smart and loves to check out the world around her. She would love running errands with you, as long as she gets her pup cup when you pick up an iced coffee! Sushi’s dream home would have lots of plush beds for lounging, treats for enjoying, and hands for petting. She deserves the very best life after a rough start in a dirty yard. This girl knows humans can be amazing, and we can’t wait to find her that perfect forever family.  Sushi starts her morning at 7 AM with a big stretch before she follows her foster outside to monitor the plant watering. She gets a long morning walk before the heat picks up for her potty and morning sniffs. She eats breakfast at 9 AM and then spends most of her morning napping in her various comfy spots around the house. She goes outside a few times during the morning and afternoon for potty breaks. She gets a snack at around 2 PM before she heads back to her lounge spot. Once her foster family wraps up their workday, she gets another walk around 5:30 PM. After she eats dinner, she gets some cuddle time on the couch as she catches up on her TV shows. Sushi goes out for one last walk at 10 PM and then heads to bed at 11 PM. She sleeps through the night in her pen on her blanket.  Sushi gets along well with other dogs of all ages and sizes provided they have a calm introduction. She is a bit shy when she meets new people, but they can win her over with treats and then she curls up on their lap. Sushi walks well on a leash but sometimes needs correction when she gets distracted by nature. She is fully house trained and will not potty in the home. Sushi can see TV screens and loves watching squirrels and dogs on Youtube. What a ham! Sushi can’t wait to meet you and make you fall in love with her.   Sushi is only an option for homes with prior dog owning experience, especially with shy dog experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 12. July 13, 2024, 10:52 am

Playstation and her brother, Nintendo, were surrendered to our rescue at only three weeks old. We did a lot of emergency TLC and helped these puppies thrive as they grew bigger and stronger (and cuter)! Now, they are adorable little pups who are excited to find their forever homes. Both of these puppies have non-shedding coats and will require regular grooming. They are an option for those with allergies or who want less hair around the house. We will be seeking separate homes for each puppy, as we do not place siblings together. Play the game of life and boot up Playstation today!   Playstation is a delightful and loving gal with a zest for life and adventure! She is an outgoing charmer who hops around like an excited bunny, bringing joy and laughter wherever she goes. Playstation’s love for people is matched only by her enthusiasm for playtime. This cuddle bug has never met a toy she didn’t want to pounce on or a lap she couldn’t claim as her own. Her playful antics and affectionate nature make her the perfect companion for those seeking a fun-loving, devoted furry friend. Playstation would be an incredible addition to any home and we know her lucky forever family will win the jackpot with her. She has an incredible smile, matched with a tail that never stops wagging. She has no idea she is just a little pipsqueak and we won’t be the ones to tell her! She can’t wait to take on the big wide world with her new people. Playstation will be the best limited edition addition to any household! The puppies wake up around 7 AM and head outside for a quick potty break to stretch their legs and play with toys. They eat breakfast at 8 AM, lunch at 1 PM, and dinner at 5 PM. After fueling up, the puppies head into their pen for some playtime followed by a well-deserved nap. They have a mountain of toys and delight in dragging them around as they play happily. In the afternoon, the puppies get some lengthy cuddle sessions before showing off their puppy zoomies. They love gentle games of tug, chase, and fetch. No matter how much they play, they always make time for snuggles on the couch. After they have dinner, they start to wind down from the day and get another cuddle session. After one last trip outside for a potty attempt, they settle into their pen for bedtime.  The puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They live with several resident dogs as well as a nursing foster sibling. They have been introduced to a resident cat. The puppies have been socialized with kids and adults and adore meeting new friends. We will be looking for homes prepared to discuss continued training and socialization plans as these puppies have had a fabulous base of love and support. Interested homes should also be prepared to discuss grooming plans. Get ready to play the game of life with these gaming puppies!     Playstation is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 3 years. Personal dog-owning experience only (no dog sitting, family dogs, roommates dogs). Kids in the home must be over the age of 8.July 13, 2024, 10:52 am

Story
Kristmas was fearful and very nervous at the shelter when we rescued her. She is a special behavior needy dog. Kristmas needs time to warm up and feel safe. She can be handled and picked up. She was neglected with matts and had very long toe nails. She was probably too isolated prior and then left in the streets. Kristmas was fine meeting another dog on leash. She was nervous at our vet but they were able to care for her and clip her long nails. She is now in a quiet foster home and relaxing. At first she stayed in her crate inside dog pen and just watched. The next day she felt safer and ate a little. Finally came out and walked out to yard for potty biz. Sniffing and hanging out with the foster home's gentle friendly small dog. Kristmas needs time to decompress and feel safe. Will need an experienced guardian and quiet home situation with attached back yard. More info. to come. She will only eat home made cooked food. Foster home makes chicken or turkey with rice and veggies. She won't eat store bought kibble nor can. Update on day 2: At foster home she is very slowly warming up. She follows their 2 dogs around and out to yard. She needs a very experienced home with another dog to feel safe. Best no kids or older kids 10 yrs and up. She will flinch at fast movement and is head shy. She needs more time in her foster home to learn and be less fearful. She slowly will jump on the sofa and go to foster mom to sniff hands. Kristmas is eating very little now and likes Weruva canned food. She is still too nervous to eat a full meal. So maybe in another 2 weeks she will be normal but shy behavior. She was probably too isolated since a puppy so new people and places make her very nervous. Need to move slow and let her set her pace to trust and feel safe. She will not walk on leash but can be guided on leash at home with another dog around. Will take time for her adjust. She is not a dog for social outings or parks. March 2024: She is now walking on leash with a harness. Follows people and foster home's dog on walks. She was a very picky eater but foster home makes home-made meals of meat/veggies/rice for her and their dog. She now loves her food! June 2024: She's continued to improve. She is very loving dog now. Loves to go for walks and loves to run in the park. She gets along with her older brother Tony (terrier mix). Krissy is very gentle easy going loves dogs at the park. She is still a little shy with humans but allows strangers to pet her now. She needs a gentle loving family. She is still young so she loves to run in nature. Overall very loving and easy going dog. Doesn’t like fast movements or loud voices or shouting. She was good at groomer too.July 14, 2024, 1:22 am
