All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 11th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.       Adoption Fee: $750   Paloma is a 4 year old Maltipoo (Maltese x Poodle) who is excited to meet you! Paloma’s former home contacted us when they fell on hard times and were unable to afford veterinary care for her. She had been peeing blood and x-rays revealed a bladder stone the size of an egg! We were able to get her emergency surgery and she is now on the mend. She came to us full of mats, so we got her all cleaned up, and although her fur is short now, it will grow back in lush and beautiful. Paloma weighs 14 pounds and has a non-shedding type of coat that makes her an option for those with allergies, and she will require regular grooming every 6 weeks or so so she never ends up matted and in pain again! Interested homes should be ready to discuss her continued medical care as well. This little lady has been through so much but she knows it will be worth it once she meets you!    Paloma is a fabulously cuddly gal who adores her people above all else. While our girl can be a bit quiet around new people, she comes to life when she sees those that she loves, breaking out her happy little dance as her paws tap across the floor. Paloma would love a home where her human is home for most of the day, as she’s always down for snuggles and kisses. If your dream of a perfect evening is a movie marathon over a shared bowl of popcorn, Paloma is your new bestie! She could even help you prepare a fabulous spread for dinner… as long as you slip her some chicken! Paloma also loves being rubbed behind the ears as her eyes blink close. Our girl deserves only the best. With her ever-growing collection of sweaters and bows, Paloma will rival even the most famous models as she hits the runway.  Paloma wakes up at 8 AM and rolls onto her belly for cuddles right away. She has her morning meal and then heads out into the yard for some sunbathing. Once she’s had her fill, she comes back inside for a nap before lunch. She gets a short walk in the afternoon before spending some time on her foster mom’s lap. She has dinner at 6 PM before she spends the rest of her evening lounging on the couch until she’s ready for bed.  Paloma lives with several small dogs and gets along well with all of them. She is a little hesitant when meeting new people but if she is given the chance to settle in she is set! Paloma can’t wait to find her lucky family to show her the best pampered life ever!     Paloma is only an option for homes with prior dog owning experience who are prepared to handle her ongoing care. Kids should be over the age of 9.January 12, 2025, 7:56 pm

Biscotti was rescued from the shelter with a few of her pastry pals. We don’t know how this little cutie landed in the slammer, but we promised to find her the best family where she would be cherished forever! Biscotti currently weighs around 8 pounds, so we expect she will be in the 15-18 pound range as an adult pup. If you’re ready for an adorable treat mixed with puppy kisses, come order up some Biscotti today!     Biscotti is a playful and affectionate puppy who brings good times and puppy kisses wherever she goes! This gal adores her humans and is always trotting after them on her little legs. She loves to show off her zoomies, dragging along a plush toy as she races across the backyard as fast as she can. She also loves snuggling on the couch and watching TV once she’s ready for a break. Biscotti is a true ambassador for all dog kind, as she effortlessly charms everyone she meets with a single flutter of her eyelashes that frame her puppy dog eyes. She will be an amazing adventure companion for her forever family as her legs continue to grow and she explores more of the world outside her puppy pen. We have no doubt that she will have a mental map of all the best pup cup spots on her local routes in no time, so get ready to pamper this princess like she deserves! Biscotti wakes up around 8 AM ready to start her day and get her cuddles! She has breakfast before heading outside for morning zoomies with her toys. She loves playing fetch so that amuses her until she is ready for her morning nap. Once she wakes up, she trots along after her foster mom throughout the house and yard. She is always down for playtime or cuddles which makes her the dream puppy! She has lunch at noon and then dinner around 6 PM. In the evening, Biscotti plays with the resident cat and dog until she starts to wind down from an exciting day of being an adorable puppy. She goes out for one final potty trip and then goes into her crate around 11 PM for the night. Biscotti lives with two resident dogs and a resident cat. She is best friends with them and loves her wrestling sessions with the kitty. Biscotti’s forever home should be prepared to continue her training and socialization to ensure she grows up as fabulously as possible. If you’re ready for the sweetest treat, adopt Biscotti today!     Biscotti is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 5.        January 10, 2025, 2:32 pm

These puppies arrived at our rescue at only five days old with Mama Mushroom. They have been showered in all the love and affection a puppy could ever ask for and now that they’ve grown up, they are ready to head out and spread their adorable spores! This litter is 4 boys and 1 girl, each one cuter than the last. Mama is a small size dog, so we expect the puppies will be in the 12-16 pound range when they reach their adult weights. Come and add a spore to your family today with one of our fun-guys (and gal)!      Oyster (M): Oyster is a clever and outgoing puppy who is ready to take on the world with his lucky forever people! He has the spirit of the wild in his heart and loves playing with anyone who will romp around with him. His curiosity made him the first to exit the puppy pen and explore the backyard and his eagerness has only grown from there. Oyster loves being part of the action, so you’re likely to hear the little pitter patter of paws behind you as you go about your day. Once you stop, he’s ready to launch himself into your arms for kisses and snuggles! Oyster’s lively personality will make him a perfect addition to a family ready to tick off some bucket list items. Oyster will thrive where he can show you how rare he is, like the most magnificent pearl in the ocean!      The Mushroom puppies wake up around 7 AM and snuggle while their overnight pen is cleaned out. They eat three times a day: 8 AM, 1 PM, and 6 PM, enjoying a mix of wet food and kibble. After they eat, they start their daily cycle of playing, sleeping, eating, wrestling… and repeat! They love to cuddle in an adorable little pile during nap time and make adorable noises as they explore the world around them. They also get some one-on-one time each day to ensure they are gaining important socialization. At the end of the day, they head back into their pen for bed.   The Mushroom puppies have been well socialized with dogs in their foster home. They love meeting new people and thrive around people. Interested homes should be prepared to continue training and socialization to ensure they are fabulous adults. We can’t wait to see what these puppies bring to their forever homes because they are just paw-fect. Adopt a Mushroom puppy today!      The Mushroom puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last five years. Kids should be over the age of five. January 12, 2025, 7:56 pm

Story
Mr. Little Potato Head! What a great name. To our best knowledge, probably a maltese poodle mix, he's approximately 3 years old and weights about 14 pounds. He is great with people and children. He walks well on a leash but does like to bark at other dogs, but will settle when you correct him. He loves to eat and is very food/treat motivated. He must have had a family before as he settled in with his foster very easily. He does well in car rides and loves his daily walks. Are you ready to incorporate him into your family!? SF Bay Area Adoptions only, please email if interested.

Story
No. Dot Com, the peewee Maltese Yorkie mix currently setting the Muttville world afire with dainty adorability, did not get an ear lift. Those highflying beacons of lace-trimmed glamour are natural. Or supernatural. Real for sure. So is her gentility and quiet curiosity. Firm on her feet and friendly to new people, dogs and experiences, she takes it all in with magnanimity - and the intention of using it in poetry she composes whilst sunbathing. She may be a scant 7 lbs, but girl can do the stairs! Nothing left to do but adopt her this instant. Here's some notes from her foster: Dottie (DotCom) is just waiting to become your teeny, bubbly, new best friend! Dot’s favorite things are attention, food and especially people who give her attention and food! This friendly girl is great at reading the room— if you’re up and doing stuff around the house, she’ll be chasing you, running around and paying attention to what you’re doing. If you’re chilling out, watching tv, doing some work… she’ll calmly find a comfy spot near by to take a nap, or sneak in some cuddles. Dottie sleeps through the night, likes other dogs, enjoys car rides, loves being outside going on walks or being carried in a sling. I believe Dottie was trained to use a pee pad as I’ve seen her use the one intended for one of my own dogs multiple times, but I keep her on a schedule and still take her out every few hours. Dot is tiny in size, but has a huge personality- silly, sassy, sweet..mixed with perfect amount of crazy bedhead, you just can’t help falling in love with her! Dottie is going to bring so much love and laughter into your home. I can’t wait until she find the perfect forever family she deserves!
