Story
Available to the right adopter, who is willing to continue with her training. Dawn is a precious Maltipoo, guessed to be around 6-8 yrs old, and is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy and scared dogs. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these scared dogs and is working with her on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, leash training, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, even car training. She also has an amazing group of volunteers that meet twice a week to help socialize all the scared foster dogs in her care. There are lots of other dogs at her foster mom's house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who has experience with handling and rehabilitating shy dogs, or who is willing to help him continue gaining confidence by taking one of Jodi's foundation classes in person or via zoom. This class is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training would definitely help the family and this sweet guy adjust to their new life together quicker. She provides a discount on training.

Story
Holly is a very sweet 9 year old girl who does not need anything than sunlight to lay in. She sleeps in a kennel at night. She is always up for activity but more than happy to lay around the house all day. She does not play much anymore so would be best with people who like to cuddle more than play. We need to rehome her because she has not handled the transition of adding a baby to the house well. She has been very stressed and scared since he came home 6 months ago and it is not getting any better. The good news is, she is been back to her old self while at my moms house. She is such a good girl and will make the right family very happy for many more years. We want to find the right place for this super sweet girl. **Holly is pending adoption

Story
Four-year-old Queenie rules her foster mom’s heart with sweetness and grace. The curly-coated 10-pound cutie loves snuggling and cuddling with her, resting her head on her, hiding under the covers and then dancing daintily about. Easygoing with a touch of independence, she also enjoys curling up on her foster mom’s lap or sitting contentedly by her chair on the floor. Occasionally playing with small toys and chewing bones, she especially enjoys going for long walks, expressing her joy at being out and about by the happy bounce in her step! She calmly ignores the other dogs they pass, and although she’s gentle with youngsters, older children are more Queenie’s “cup of tea.” Motivated by food and love, eager to please and to learn, she currently knows “come” and “no,” and is diligently at work on both her crate and house-training. Now all this petite queen of hearts needs is a loving home, preferably with other playful pups, and patient adopters to complete her training, including her commands, and keep that happy bounce in her step fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
