Story
Hercules is a 10lbs spunky and tender dog. He loves to play, excels at fetch and would do well to be working some kind of job (even if it’s following someone around the house, or doing yard work with his owner). He is very smart and understands a tremendous amount of words and signals, but struggles to listen when he gets scared. He is very expressive and will be your best friend. He is fiercely loyal and so much fun, but he is strong-willed and has a temper and can bite. He is brave but also a scared-y cat, and needs a parent who will make him feel safe. He is an alpha male with other dogs but will follow the human pack leader. He would do well to be in a family where someone can be with him for most of the day and be active with him. He doesn’t have any health issues and we just had his teeth cleaned in November. I developed health issues which makes it hard for me to take care of Hercules. He deserves to live his best life with his perfect family.

HIGHLIGHT: ** Requires a secure yard and another confident dog already established in the home. ** Meet Belinda - quiet, observant and learning to trust. Belinda is so special and unassuming. She is a 15-pound, 4-year-old Maltipoo mix who is still very early in her journey towards feeling safe in a human world. She absolutely ADORES other friendly dogs. She's very easy: she just wants to quietly observe everything from her safe space (the couch or her playpen area). To help her continue to thrive, Belinda's new home MUST have at least one established dog that she can trust and take cues from. Let’s be honest, she wouldn’t mind a house with more dogs than humans! Belinda will do best in a calm, experienced household where she can take her time and be allowed to observe first, and settle in at her own pace. Though she's not ready to consistently approach people just yet, she watches closely - and those watchful eyes are full of curiosity. She takes cues from other resident dogs and deep down you can tell she wants to join in on the fun. Once she overcomes her shyness you will start to see little bits of her silly personality. She is very soft and does not shed. At this stage, Belinda is learning that people bring good things, like cuddly spaces, boiled chicken treats and predictable routines. She's also been making progress with house training and gentle handling. Although she remains very cautious, there's incredible potential for continued progress in the right environment. While she's not ready for a lot of physical affection yet, she is ready for a family that understands trust takes time and will be there patiently cheering her on with every small step forward. She's shown great progress in the short time since being rescued, and we're confident the right family is out there for sweet Belinda. Story
Cricket is a loving, sweet dog with a sometimes playful personality. She is 12 years old and has been having health issues. She has allergies that are best handled with quarterly allergy injections. She has a fungul infection that has been hard to get rid of even with bathing her in proper shampoos. She requires a good amount of attention. She is house trained but will have occasional accidents if left alone too long without going outside. We adopted her when more of our kids are at home. Our last two boys are busy in high school and we work. We have limited time to give to her and in addition she does require more attention due to some health issues. We do not have the time to properly care for her. It’s very hard to put her up for adoption but I know it is best. Will keep her as long as I need to until she can find a proper home.
