Gertie is such a gentle, well behaved pup!  Quiet, sweet, and very smart!  It’s like she can look right into your soul.  She sleeps well at night and is going potty outside as well as on the potty pads.  She gets along with other dogs and has learned to go up and down stairs.  She favorite activity is snuggling with her human.  ##2152125##

Story
Four-year-old Queenie rules her foster mom’s heart with sweetness and grace. The curly-coated 10-pound cutie loves snuggling and cuddling with her, resting her head on her, hiding under the covers and then dancing daintily about. Easygoing with a touch of independence, she also enjoys curling up on her foster mom’s lap or sitting contentedly by her chair on the floor. Occasionally playing with small toys and chewing bones, she especially enjoys going for long walks, expressing her joy at being out and about by the happy bounce in her step! She calmly ignores the other dogs they pass, and although she’s gentle with youngsters, older children are more Queenie’s “cup of tea.” Motivated by food and love, eager to please and to learn, she currently knows “come” and “no,” and is diligently at work on both her crate and house-training. Now all this petite queen of hearts needs is a loving home, preferably with other playful pups, and patient adopters to complete her training, including her commands, and keep that happy bounce in her step fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $600. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Available to the right adopter, who either has experience with scared dogs, or is willing to continue with her training. Lolita is a precious Maltipoo that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy and scared dogs. She is guessed to be under 1 year old. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these scared dogs and is working with her on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, leash training, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, even car training. She also has an amazing group of volunteers that meet twice a week to help socialize all the scared foster dogs in her care. There are lots of other dogs at her foster moms house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to help her continue gaining confidence either with in person, or virtual training session(s) This training is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training will help the family and this sweet girl adjust to their new life together quicker. She will provide a discount on training. The amount of training needed (it generally takes 1-2 sessions) will depend on the knowledge and experience of the adopter and how far along the dog is in the rehabilitation training at the time of adoption.

Story
Hi, I’m Bean! I came from a breeder in Oklahoma and I experienced trauma to my eye when I was younger so my friends at Big Bones helped me have it removed. I am recovering well! I’m a small guy so I am comfortable around other small dogs but big dogs can intimidate me. With time and space I seem to get along with everyone. Since being in a foster home, I have learned I love snuggling on couches, rolling over for tummy rubs and getting affection from my human. I’m doing well with house training but I do not walk on a leash yet so I will need a home with a secure yard. I would love to sleep in bed with you at night. If there is another dog in the home I’m motivated by some friendly jealousy… my foster mom calls me a Jelly Bean! I might settle in a little quicker if there’s another dog around to show me I can trust the humans… and so I can compete for their pets. If my human plans to hang out with me most of the day, I don’t need to have another dog in my home. I would get lonely if I was left home alone a lot though. I’m an affectionate and happy boy. Apply today to learn more about me! Bean is available to go home on 9/28.
