Story
Dozer has been waiting to be a permanent guest on someones couch for 210 DAYS! He is one of our favorites in the rescue, he's goofy, cuddly, and a big baby! He always runs out of his kennel with a toy in his mouth because he's just so excited! When excited he will try and nibble you with the front of his teeth if theres not a toy around to grab. this can look intimidating to people if you don't know him. Dozer has limited range of motion in his neck due to wobblers syndrome. Before being surrendered to us, he had 2 intensive surgeries on his neck to get him back to himself. Because of the operations his surgeons said that he is only to be walked on a harness. For the most part, he is non systematic. The one thing we've noticed since we've had him is he will every now and then drag his back foot. He's still up for going on long walks! Other than that he's a healthy and fit, but clumsy guy! His favorite thing is car rides!! He does FANTASTIC in the car and is always down for an adventure. As of now, we are looking for a home without any other dogs. He does well with dogs, but because of his neck, we want to limit rough play. Prior to his surrender, he lived with a young golden retriever. They did well together, but the owner couldn't read when Dozer was done playing with the overexcited puppy, so Dozer was forced to hand out some corrections to the other dog. Dozer needs to go to a home with NO cats. If other dogs are in the home, the prospective adopter must be ok with multiple greetings, slow introductions, and keeping the dogs separated in the beginning. Dozer is absolutely ready for his next and final adventure! Want to learn more about him? Fill out an application for him here: https://www.handoverrover.org/adoptionapplication

Story
Dozer is a 7 year old, 60 pound, toothless lap dog who has been dreaming of one thing: a couch to call his own. His perfect day is pretty simple. Lay on the couch with his people, grab his favorite toy, go for a car ride, come home, grab another toy, and head right back to the couch. You will almost never catch this guy without a toy in his mouth, and despite being 60 pounds, Dozer is completely convinced he belongs in your lap. We are looking for a forever foster for Dozer. That means he gets to live with you and be loved like he is your own dog, while Handover Rover continues to financially cover his food, medical care, and other needs for the rest of his life. Dozer qualifies for forever foster status because he has Wobbler syndrome, a neurological condition caused by compression of the spinal cord in the neck that can affect a dog’s coordination and mobility. For Dozer, this primarily looks like some wobbliness and occasional “knuckling,” where he may stand on the top of his foot rather than his paw. His neck also remains fixed following a surgery he had many years ago, so his overall mobility is somewhat limited. None of this stops him from enjoying his life. He still gets around great, is not currently in pain, and is more than happy living life at his own pace. Dozer does great with larger dogs but needs a home without cats. His forever foster will simply need to keep us in the loop about his Wobbler syndrome and let us know if they notice any changes or progression. That way, we can work with his veterinary team and adjust his care or treatment as needed. Handover Rover will remain financially responsible for his needs. Give him a couch, a pile of toys, a spot in the car, and people to love, and this toothless wonder will be living his dream. Want to learn more? Theo is 8 weeks old and quite possibly the happiest puppy you’ll ever meet! This chunky little boy is always ready to play, make new friends, and soak up every bit of attention he can get.  Mom is a pit bull mix, and dad is a mystery—but these pups are already big, solid babies with some seriously impressive puppy paws! Theo is social, playful, confident, and full of personality. He thinks everyone is his friend and approaches life with a wagging tail and a happy little face. He’s just an easy-to-love puppy who is going to bring so much fun and happiness to his future family. His adoption fee is $350 and that includes his neuter, puppy vaccines, microchip and 30m days free pet insurance. To meet his text 602-908-6215.  September 8, 2026, 6:28 pm

Story
I'm a strong and active boy who thinks I'm a lap dog. I get excited when it's time to go on walks, but then once we're walking, I'm calm. I do get excited when I meet kids, but after I will calm down and I leave them alone, unless they keep playing with me. Little kids might be afraid of me because of my size and run away from me and I think that they want to play, so just watch them. I would do best in a home with older children. My best day would be to: Going for a car ride to a park to go for a walk and then come home and nap. Other tidbits about me: I do fine being left out to roam the house when no one is home, because all I do is lay on the couch. I like being introduced to other dogs slowly and properly, otherwise I get over-excited. If, when I first meet new people and they have sunglasses on, I can get scared. As I am a pretty big boy, I can be strong when I get excited, so you need to be ready if you have the leash. I am not really interested in toys, but there are times when I do get the urge. I do slobber, so make sure to keep towels around.
