Penny came to us from the euthanasia list at the county shelter. She weighed a severely overweight 110 lbs and suffered from chronic eye issues. She was going to be euthanized for her medical needs. She was a volunteer favorite at the shelter, and what was more than clear to all of us was that this precious girl had simply never been given the chance to live the life she deserved. Since coming into our care, Penny has lost over 45 lbs and is looking better than we could have ever imagined. She has transformed into the type of dog who would fill her perfect home with all the love in the world. She loooves to play, adores her toys, has learned impressive obedience commands [and impulse control!], and she really is something special. Given her size and strength, Penny would do best with a person or family who can keep up her obedience work at home so she can continue to be her very best self and get in all the walks and activity that she needs.
