Story
Bluto is a confident, playful and affectionate boy with a heart as big as his 70-pound, all-muscle frame! He’s house trained and knows how to sit, and while he walks pretty well on leash, his fabulous foster is working with him on not pulling when something exciting grabs his attention. Bluto is a total lovebug adores being around people. He would happily cuddle up with you on the couch any chance he gets. He’s gentle when taking treats and doesn’t mind having his paws handled—making grooming and vet visits a breeze. He loves meeting new people and greets guests in the home with full body wiggles. So far in foster, he has done great with other large dogs who have calm demeanors. When playful dogs approach, he's eager to get involved but he's not quite sure exactly what to do. He takes human or dog direction well though, and will be a playful companion in no time! As he's a large boy who's still learning how to keep all four paws on the ground when he's excited, he would be best in a home with adults only or older kids. He means absolutely no harm, but could easily knock over small kids or anyone unsteady on their feet while he's working on this. If you’re looking for a strong, confident, and affectionate companion who just needs a little polishing, Bluto might be your perfect match, apply today to find out!

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:3This dog is available to meet by appointment only.  A beautiful mastiff mix, Raspberry is a sweet and gentle soul, ready to bring her charm to the right family. She is 90 pounds and just under 2 years old. Even though Raspberry can be shy at first, she is very brave and coming out of her shell more every day. She is learning to trust humans and is getting very comfortable as evidenced by the cutest tail wags and body wiggles. Once she feels safe, she loves attention and gentle pets. This sweet girl loves playgroups at the shelter, which she attends every morning! Being with her doggy friends helps her to relax and gives her confidence. She has been very gentle and sweet with the more sensitive dogs at playgroups. She also loves to play chase with her more confident doggy friends. Raspberry would thrive in a home with another well-matched dog to show her the ropes of her new life. Raspberry could also be a solo dog in a home with patient adopters who understand her sensitive nature. If you're looking for a sweet and charming girl to bring endless joy to your life, Raspberry is waiting for you! Please submit an adoption questionnaire to meet her. July 14, 2025, 1:46 pm

Story
It’s been months and no applications completed for this sweet guy. It makes me sad that he’s dying of loneliness in our backyard when I know the right owner would have a ball with this boy! We got Dutch from a foster home a few years ago and our family has grown, and moved, and grown, and moved. We love Dutch but he’s not getting the care and attention he deserves, we leave all day for work and then immediately have sports in the evenings which means Dutch is outside alone all day by himself. he’s very social and sweet and loves walks. His hips have been achy lately but he still loves to play and walk. He’s a big guy but doesn’t jump up or act overly rambunctious! Great teeth and coat! He hardly barks, unless someone unfamiliar is approaching the house so he’s great as a guard dog, but he might just lick them to death if they get too close! He’s very friendly with people and knows how to be gentle with food and toys. He does like to power chew so he needs heavy duty toys!

Story
Meet Jimmy – The Golden Brindle Gentleman Looking for His Forever! Jimmy is a stunning, 2-year-old golden brindle mix with a heart as soft as his coat. Weighing about 65 pounds, he’s likely a mix of Boxer, Mastiff, and Staffy—strong, sweet, and soulful. This handsome boy was likely dumped, but everything changed when a kind foster dad found him and gave him a safe place to land. Since then, Jimmy has been thriving in a foster home with multiple dogs of all sizes. He’s proven to be easy-going, affectionate, and eager to belong. Jimmy is: • Dog-friendly • Crate trained and doing great with house training • Food motivated and eager to please • Playful, but equally happy lounging or sunbathing • A good car rider and walking buddy He’s still learning the ropes of being a pet and would benefit from some basic training—but he’s smart, motivated, and ready to learn. Jimmy would be an amazing family dog or loyal companion for someone who wants a laid-back buddy with just the right amount of goofball energy. Fully vetted and ready to find his forever home—please share this lovable boy far and wide so Jimmy can get the happy ending he deserves.
