This is Layla. She's a beautiful 4 year old honey colored Mastiff Pitbull mix with a heart of gold and eyes to match. At 58 pounds she's on the smaller side for her breed mix, though Layla actually believes she's a tiny lapdog. The moment you come near her, she'll lean in and make the sweetest whine to let you know she wants some attention. All Layla needs to be happy is love and affection. She's easy to gear up and walks perfectly on the leash. She'll lay her head on your lap ever so gently when asking for pets. Even when Layla takes treats, she's a perfect lady. Brody (BB=Brody Boy) is almost one years old! And, a complete love bug. This handsome boy is very sweet, a little on the shy side. He is learning to be around other dogs and people. His profile phot was taken during a training session at Pt Isabel Dog Park. This is where the magic happens and the pups are transformed.  Brody now knows how to meet other four legged friends and humans with manners and respect. He is knows basic commands and recall.  BB is smart and he looking for a home with a buddy, a partner that help teach him the ropes. And, a humane to introduce him to lots of people! This guy is a social butterfly!! BB is crate trained and a snuggle bug. He is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and house trained.  Adoption fees: Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. Learn more hereZydeco's previous foster family tells us that he is:    Completely house trained. Never needed to go outside during the night. Not a very vocal dog - rarely barked at people or dogs walking by. LOVES people! Never barked at visitors.  Would greet them happily.  Loves any toy with a squeaker in it!  Did not destroy his toys. Loves to play with tennis balls - two is better than one.  He will carry two and drop one at your feet to throw. Can play by himself for a long time.  He loved to watch the ball roll off the deck and then chase it. Enjoys walks at Redwood - his nose to the ground most of the time. Tried dog park a few times, but he mostly just played fetch with me.  Watched the other dogs play, but didn’t really join in. Likes to nibble on plants and wood. Will dig if given the opportunity, but can be redirected.  He has learned cues like: Sit, down, stay, come, and wait.  Still woking on not pulling on leash - a harness is a must for walks.  He will “sit” before crossing the street if prompted. Zydeco is around 1 year old so he's got plenty to learn about the world. Notes from Nelly`s foster: I definitely fell in love with Nelly - and of course I did because she made it so easy. It took her a second to open up, which I was expecting. Parts of her life were not so great and so I assumed that I would have to earn her trust. She also made that part quite easy as all she needed were some yummy treats and some love. And the love she gives back to you is quite endless. She`ll greet you with a big hug the moment you get home. She`ll rest her head on you once you both start to get tired. You might occasionally have to coax her to play, but she commits to the game once you do. Nelly loves tug of war, and in our small apartment she would still somehow make a game of fetch. Shortly after, she`ll get the zoomies, and it`s almost as if she doesn`t realize how fast she is actually going. She may be quite timid and shy at first but once she gets a sense of their smell and that they are a person that you trust, she begins to open up too. Nelly gives cute little kisses and provides you with a comfortable presence. And, she will listen when you tell her to leave it. I will say this girl has some sass in terms of where she wants to go when walking… she might sit and toss her head saying `no I want to go this way.` It`s pretty cute. And again, with patience and some coaxing she listens. She is house trained and will communicate when she needs to go outside. I will say that Nelly is very food motivated and learns quite fast. In terms of training, she needs a bit of repetition, like any other dog, but she catches on quickly. Nelly is a wonderful dog. It might take a second for her to open up, but that is only because she has had to guard herself for quite some time. If you give her a chance, she will become your adventure buddy, your cuddle buddy, and your genuine and loyal friend for life.
