Story
This big guy is eager to please and train, but he will need ongoing training and strong pack leader as his owner. Cole is young, responds well to correcting and playful with most other dogs. Cole was scared of the cats he met at the vets office and will probably do fine in a home with getting to know kitties slowly. This dog currently resides in Bandera, Tx. , We transport dogs to Washington State usually 2-3 times a month. Please understand that there is additional vetting, health certificates and costs involved with transporting a dog from Texas to Washington and our adoption fee includes all costs involved. *All of our dogs have tested Heart-worm negative and are on a monthly heart worm prevention protocol

Story
Animal Profile: Spunky is an estimated 6-month-old, 40 lb altered male Mastiff mix. Our rescue partner observed that he is good with other dogs, "well socialized, calm in nature, and super sweet." Foster Update: Spunky is a honey! He LOVES attention and will just melt in your hands if you give him pets. He's crate trained and only alert barks. He's mostly house trained if given frequent breaks since he likes a lot of water. He needs a lot of socialization and exposure but is quickly learning and overcoming his fears. For instance, he was afraid of cars driving by as he walked but he has overcome that fear! He's still a little shy of big dogs and will stop when on a walk or bark when one enters his yard so he needs to meet more friends! He does okay with his 4-lb chihuahua foster sister but does still find her to be like a toy so he's working on that. Speaking of toys, he LOVES them! He will play contentedly for hours with ALL the toys. He is doing well with training and is a quick learner, already getting the hang of "wait", "sit", and other fun commands. And he is very treat driven which is helpful. Spunky is still working on leash training but is making great progress. He really enjoys the walks but mostly just loves spending time with his human having fun. He's a sweet medium energy puppy that can get really excited when playing so we can say Medium/high energy. Is super excited to find his forever home. We are looking for a home with large breed  experience and a securely fenced yard, we are not considering apartments at this time.  Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, deworming, microchip and registration, and vet exam.  Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: This dog was rescued from Freer Animal Shelter through our partner.  They arrive in Seattle on Nov. 10, 2023.December 6, 2023, 12:15 am

Story
Meet Buddy, the lovable deaf Dane mix with the goofiest personality you'll ever encounter. Despite his hearing impairment, Buddy's playful and joyful spirit shines through. Whenever he meets a new friend, human or furry, he can't help but dance and play. With his mesmerizing blue eyes, Buddy's charm is irresistible. With some basic training, Buddy will be a dream come true. Dog Name: Buddy Good with dogs? Yes - gets very excited by dogs smaller than him. He wants to play with them but easily redirects.    Good with kids? Yes - he loves children and babies and can co-exist gently. But due to his size, he may step on or knock into a smaller child, so older children may be best.   Good with cats? No - he gets very excited by cats.  Has experience on a leash? Yes - he is an excellent leash walker and knows how to heel. He likes to walk on your left side and will always take you in a straight line!  Potty trained? Yes   Crate trained? Yes, but does not enjoy it. He would rather be free to watch you from his favorite spot in the house.   Where does the dog stay when it is home alone? Buddy has free range of the house. He loves to cuddle in the corner of the couch, on his bed in the living room, or watch the neighborhood out of the window of the front door. Recently, he has felt confident enough to jump up on his foster’s bed, but is content to sleep in his own space.  Where does the dog sleep? He sleeps on his bed in the living room or on the couch.    When does the dog eat? Buddy eats at 8am and 5pm daily. He takes 40mg of Fluoxetine before bed, which takes the edge off of seeing smaller dogs pass his window.    What does the dog eat? Buddy has a sensitive stomach and does well on the Turkey and Sweet Potato kibble formula from Costco. He also enjoys his kibble as a treat.  Temperament/Personality: Buddy is a sweet boy who is looking for a comfy couch and a grassy yard to roll around in. He loves to observe his people and his neighborhood. He does have a loud bark (which he cannot hear) so apartment living and shared walls is not for him. He sighs deeply and sinks into your hand when you pet his snout and soft ears. He falls into a deep, content sleep when being brushed. He likes to play with a bouncy kong ball or a stick shaped toy for about 5 minutes a day, before losing interest and resuming his nap or his post as neighborhood watch.   What does the dog's ideal home look like? Buddy would thrive in a home with another dog his size or similar or with older children who can play with him when the inspiration hits (about 5 minutes a day indoors or 30 min outside). Buddy loves walking and hiking and does a cute bunny hop when he spots a cat or smaller dog on his route. Due to this excitement, he will need a confident adopter who can patiently ask him to heel while he is bouncing around. He easily redirects and keeps on walking (in a straight line) making him an ideal walking companion. He does get chilly in the PNW weather, so enjoys a rain jacket or sweater in the cooler months.  If your foster were a celebrity, who would they be? Ol’ Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra of course!  If your foster dog were on a dating site, what would their profile say? If you like Andy from Parks & Rec and Andre the Giant, swipe right.  Beach or Mountains? Mountains!  Squeaky/Bouncy/Chewy, what do they look for in a toy? Chewy and bouncy!  Complete this sentence “My foster wishes they had a friend with whom they could share…..” walks and wrestles! What’s your foster’s favorite dessert? Long grass!    FYI Buddy has an instagram account at: @blue_eyebuddyboy which has pictures and videos!  Apply through our website www.northwestwagrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 ##1657012##
