Story
The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more. Valerie is a sweet pea in dog form. She loves playing with squeaky toys, getting cuddles from her foster family, or napping in a pile of her sleeping siblings. She enjoys watching episodes of Bluey and Pixar movies. When asked what she wanted to be when she grows up she said a sous chef because head chef would be too stressful. Valerie (Val for short) would be great in a house with a loving owner who will keep her engaged and active. Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information. ** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. ** HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal's location. He came to us as a stray from a high kill shelter in CA. Tiger is a wonderful boy and has a great demeanor. He is super loving with everyone he meets and very gentle. He walks wonderful on leash and will make a great dog for his forever family! He has been good with other dogs in our care. We think he would do just fine with kids, but he is not tested with cats. Tiger is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Introducing Max! He is a 3-year-old, 84lb French Mastiff mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Max is one big sweetheart! He walks well on a leash, gets along great with other dogs, and is friendly with everyone he meets. He does well being groomed and loves any attention he can get from his people. He will require an adopter that is able to handle his strength as he does like to pull occasionally when he sees something of interest, and he is very strong when doing so. He is a gentle giant but is strong, so due to his strength, we are looking for an adult only household or a household with children over 10 years. Max has a great smile, charming brown eyes, and so much love to give! He is going to be a loyal companion to whoever adopts him. Max is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Hi! My name is Concord and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on 9/30/24.I weigh 71 lbs and am considered a large breed dog.I am a very smart dog! At the shelter I am practicing how to `sit`, `stay`, and `come`.I am nervous around men, still learning if I can trust them. I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home! Looking for the perfect couch and person to cuddle up with after a good walk!I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.I am an adaptable dog who loves to go with the flow! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!

Story
Rio is a big lover of a dog! He is great with kids but is a large dog with a ton of energy so he might knock little kids over. He knows basic commands but will still need further training. He is super smart, kennel trained and walks on a leash. His current owner says he's really the best dog. Rio loves cats, and female dogs but is selective about his male dog friends. This will most likely change when he's neutered. He's potty trained, friendly and quiet. He can be protective but is in no way aggressive. Rio loves car rides, long walks and his favorite treat are carrots! If you would like to meet him send us a message! *Rio is part of our house to home program and is not under the ownership of Critters Pet Rescue. Story
We adopted Tod 8 months ago and feel in love. He is a goofy lovable boy. He loves tug-a-war, hide and seek, chase, and snuggling with his people. Although big, he is a gentle giant with impeccable manners. When adopting him we found out he is bi-lingual and speaks Spanish and knows many commands in both Spanish and English. He has been crate trained, and trained on a Mini Educator e-collar, Herm Sprenger prong collar, Wonder Walker harness, and muzzle trained as well. Although Tod is a sweet boy with people in the home he does have reactivity issues on walks when he sees another dog. Our dog-friendly apartment living situation does not allow him to go outside for walks without him being scared and stressed. After 8 months of professional training we realized he really needs a house with a yard to keep slowly working up to walks with lots of scary distractions. We are looking for a home that can dedicate the time to work with him to get over his reactivity in the proper setting.
