Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Mostly Energy level: Moderate (shes playful and spry for her age!) Noise level: Medium Hey there I'm Daisy your new four-legged best friend! Despite my age I'm still as playful and spry as a pup. I absolutely love going for walks and guess what? I can keep up with the younger dogs with no problem. So if you're an active soul I'm your perfect match! Now let's talk about my other love food! I'm a bit of a foodie and I'll make sure you never forget when it's time to chow down. I'm what they call a Velcro dog meaning I like to stick close to my humans. I'd be over the moon if you're the kind of person who takes me everywhere or works from home. I thrive on companionship and being by your side is my favorite place to be. As a result, I do have some separation anxiety when you leave - I just want to be with you always! I generally come when called and I do great on a leash! In a nutshell I'm Daisy, a lovable food-loving and energetic dog ready to bring joy to your home. If you're on the lookout for a loyal companion for walks and a buddy to keep you company at home I'm your girl! I cant wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love Ive got to give! My foster guardian says: Daisy is very cute and sweet and at times funny and goofy (for example a few times she has danced around my dog and rubbed herself up against her). She also likes to roll around and rub things like couch cushions. She also likes to scratch and burrow and roll around on towels sheets shirts small rugs etc that are on the floor. Likes: Burrowing rawhide sticks and hanging with you! My ideal home: Id love a home where I can be treated like a queen to live out my golden years. I'd do best in a home without children or older children that can respect my space. Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!

Story
❗Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Leeju👋 She was found on the street in South Korea at just 2 months old and sent to a high-risk city shelter along with her four siblings. Luckily, she was rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and sent to her foster home 2 months later. Her foster family has been taking good care of her since, and she’s been living peacefully with the resident dog. LeeJu is now more than ready for a furever home! • Personality: Friendly, Curious, Cautious LeeJu is such a friendly and lovable pup with a curious and cautious personality. Her energy level is mid-low as she mostly chills in a kennel at home and prefers to have light walkies mainly for the bathroom. • Affinity with - Dogs: Super friendly with other dogs as long as they are not too large or aggressive. She doesn’t respond to barking dogs as well. She currently lives with a resident dog in her foster home, so she will be a good fit for a family with other furry companions. - Cats: Good with cats. - Adults/Kids: Good with both adults & kids. She is calm even when kids pet her. • Walking Manners: Well-mannered! • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, mainly using the bathroom outdoors but sometimes indoors when she can’t go outside. • Bathing/Brushing: Very good. • Car Rides: Not anymore. She got better at car rides. Her foster tries to walk her for potty before jumping into the car. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Barks/Howls: A little bit towards continued noise from outside the house. • Appetite/Food Allergies: She likes any sort of food! / No food allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: She loves being petted on her face while snuggling up to your side! / She feels cold easily due to her short coat. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Leeju, please don't hesitate to apply!

Story
Calling all walkers - your ideal four legged companion has arrived! Chocolate might be a senior on paper, but he lives for his morning walks and has no problem walking a couple of miles every day. We have taken him on three hikes of about 3 miles, and he never slowed down: he jumps over fallen trees, climbs rocks, and even scrambled up a dry creek bed when his foster mom got them lost (oops!).   Chocolate has a 75lb foster brother, and has made friends with every dog he has ever met. Don't let him fool you if he barks: he is only worried that he will miss an opportunity to make a new friend. Every time we've done an introduction, Chocolate has done absolutely great. He would love a home with other dogs.    Chocolate attended a party last weekend with 30 people and 3 dogs. He was the belle of the ball and was passed around from lap to lap for hours. He was extremely gentle with little kids, sniffed around with new dogs, and greeted everyone who came in the door politely. He would love to be your pint sized pal at the farmers market, picnics, wineries, or anywhere else he can accompany you.    He is a top notch snuggler, and loves to be tucked in beside you while you work or relax. He doesn't need to be pet all the time and is content to fall asleep in your lap, as long as he is touching you.    We're sure this sassy senior will slow down at some point, but he shows no signs of doing it anytime soon. He is on a mission to see the world, and he's looking for someone who can help him do it.  __________________________________________________ This dog's adoption fee is $475.
